August/September is a long way off, so might as well fantasize about eventual upgrades.

Will you be leaving it stock, or are you planning to pimp it out? If so, how?

Shitpost / Memes This has to be a joke right?

With the Lightweight Command Launch Unit (CLU) costing $240,000 by itself, not including the cost of the missiles.

That’s more so a joke, because it’s not that those numbers actually matter;

Who, the, fuck, is in possession of an FGM-148 Javelin?

This is the actual definition of writing laws based on movies.

Shitpost / Memes A Bad Area To Live For Sport Shooters

Post image
103 Upvotes

The number of total shooting ranges in this area of the map is 7. Go a little bit out of the way to the Aurora region and you get Target Sports Canada, Aurora Gun Club, Sharon Gun Club and a little further then that Uxbridge Clays. So in total 11 places. Now let me give you a little break down of the 6 clubs in this area. Starting with the furthest North. Blueridge Sportsmans Club Inc. 25, 50 and 100 yard lanes. Also has trap. Pretty standard outdoor range. Membership? They are shockingly accepting new members if the website is to be believed. Reasonable Fees as well. It does not get much better from here. Next up on the list is the Barrie Gun Club. $1250 for your first year and then you are paying $570 a year afterwards. Does have a range that goes out to 150 metres though. By there own admittance it can take up to 6-10 month wait list. I have heard stories of people waiting years though. Next would be the Alliston & District Sportsmen's Club . Good luck joining this club. You need a sponsor and on top of that the wait lists from what I have heard can be very very long. Where talking years. Also membership selection is… Odd to say the least. Then you have the Toronto International Rifle and Pistol Club (yes they also do shotguns.) This range seems great… Until you realize how limited you are in what you can Shoot. Yep. Only 33 calibers approved. Vast majority of them being handgun calibers. So how do you become a member of this fine club? Welp just so you know there is a 6 month wait list. Not bad but let’s see the costs. $1,491.60 in total to become a member… Afterwards though you only got to pay $700.60 a year… But hey atleast you got a club that has ‘olympic grade facilities.’ But maybe you just want to shoot shotgun? You will still have to pay the same initation fees but hey atleast you are only paying $395 a year pre tax for membership renewals...Dufferin Northern-Peel Anglers and Hunters Association . Becoming a member here is a challenge let’s say but not impossible. Be prepared to wait a while though to join this club. Wait list is long. Reasonable membership fees though. Islington Sportsmen's Club… They don’t even have a website listed on Google Maps. But don’t worry you can find there website online https://islingtonsportsmensclub.com/ … Not much to say though. From online forums I could gather you need a sponsor to get in and the wait list is measured in years not months. 4-5 years to be precise. So those are the clubs inside the drawn line. Oh I forgot the gun club in Collingwood but that club be kind of strange lowkey ngl… And I am to lazy to talk about it. Not much info on membership joining though like if there is a wait list or anything like that. https://collingwoodrodandgunclub.com/. So that’s the situation for a lot of sport shooters in the region. Virtually no general use crown land to shoot on so unless you have private property you can shoot on you are in a pretty poor situation. Yes outside of this line there is Target Sports Canada and the other clubs mentioned above but the added distance to people living in most of the area in the line is a lot. Using Barrie for instance as a marker it would take someone a 54 minute long drive on the highway just to get to Target Sports Canada. If you live in Collingwood that becomes a 1 hour and 42 minute long drive. Now some may say “Well why don’t people in this area just buy there own land to shoot on?” Well apart from that being a very boomer suggestion that’s just not realistic for most people. That’s 100,000s to buy enough land in a area to legally shoot on. Sure in cases like Barrie you do have the option to go to the Orillia gun club which is only a little over a 30 minute drive to get there. However that also requires sponsorship from a existing member. This post was made to raise awareness about the situation going on in this region and quite frankly the surrounding regions. This area has a high population as well. Barrie alone has a population of nearly 150,000. The New Tech region has close to 50,000 people. In other words there are easily 100,000s of people living in this region. If let’s say the population was 300,000 and if of that 200,000 were 18+ and with 5% of the population of Ontario having a PAL then there could easily be 10,000+ Pal holders in this area. I hope you learned something from my ramblings today.
