Shitpost / Memes Here's hoping for late July or early August

Iām surprised I run guns are not selling the NR variant already. Now that there is a FRT in place, they should be able to import some at least.

My understanding.. And I could be wrong about this, is that the 18.6" barrel is basically a Canada-specific product, and so every rifle that's intended for NR sale up here was made specifically for the Canadian market. So IRG can't just get Makasis off the shelf, so to speak, and resell them up here (Because the longest Makasi for sale in the US is 16"). They could order some, but then they'd be looking at the same delivery times as everyone else.

I think you are very likely right. They are selling some restricted ones. I just donāt want to risk buying a range toy and becoming a paper weight later.

u/conanap May 07 '26
Any idea why the manufacturer donāt just sell the US 16ā version (or send for an FRT for it)?
2
u/starw24-ps4 May 07 '26
Who wants this thing restricted right now? Range only, and the government immediately knows who has it
1
u/conanap May 07 '26
Oh fuck lmao, didnāt realize centre fire had a longer barrel requirement length
1
u/SirKickBan May 07 '26
The 16" version got a restricted FRT, so retailers up here could purchase some for resale if they wanted to. Presumably they don't think it's worth the risk, though.

Mark Carney is standing just outside the frame with some shitty Turkish Revolver Shotgun ready to put all of the creatures out of their misery lol.

u/Peachy_Biscuits May 06 '26
Wdym? He definitely has an AR, something peasants like us aren't allowed to even think about

u/Alexander4848 May 08 '26
Well considering his family all lives in the US and his business is in the US, Carney probably has access to full auto's
2
u/black_covfefe_please May 08 '26
Carney has not banned any guns. My fingers are crossed that he will continue.

Pretty sure the retailers said theyāre getting the shipping crates in August, so id be more on September before itās really in peopleās hands

Excellent shitpost. God (weeping) (presumably over the cope) is the best part.
For those curious about the original oil painting:
This oil painting is a detail from the 1889 work titled "A Warm Response" by the English-Australian artist William Strutt.
Artwork Details
- Artist: William Strutt (1825ā1915), a prominent history and animal painter.
- Date: 1889.
- Current Location: The original painting is held in the collection of the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra.
- Subject Matter: The full painting depicts a chaotic scene at a market or butcher's stall where a variety of dogs are reacting to meat and seafood. The specific section in your image shows a white puppy that has made the painful mistake of playing with a live lobster.

This isnāt really a cope rifle though?
19
u/BrotherLefthand May 06 '26
No, this is a legitimate sporting rifle.
8
u/567432Gains May 06 '26
Yeah thatās what Iām trying to say to him. The way he said it made it sound like itās not a good rifle.

u/Status_Ticket5044 May 06 '26
Sorry. Maybe my definition is a little off. I assume we would all prefer to buy and/or use the semi-auto centerfires that have been prohibited, with the Backland Hunters, Cryptos, the Turkish Twins, Renegades and Mavericks, etc. considered to be pale imitations. Since we can no longer have or use semi-automatics with a military origin, we are coping with these.
Not saying it is or is not a good rifle. Curious as to why is the Makasi not a "cope" otherwise.
2
u/567432Gains May 07 '26
Well the makasi is seen as at least a decent rifle down south, and given the abundance of options they have, I would say it has to be at least a decent rifle to still be on the market.
I would say what sets it apart is that itās not cosplaying as something else, unlike a lot of the examples you gave.

u/JaxIsLoud May 06 '26
As long as I get it and can shoot it whatever I'll wait. My gun store was saying June or July. So we will see.
2
u/ExplorerEnjoyer May 06 '26
Waiting till itās available in stores and also to see if itās a piece of shit or not
14
u/Ok_Competition6823 May 06 '26
Itās been out for 3 years there are tons of reviews. Itās not a new gun.
1
u/ExplorerEnjoyer May 06 '26
Iāll look into it more later but is there a general consensus on it?
5
u/Whispersfine May 06 '26
The general consensus is positive. Only reason why itās not very popular is because Yankees have so many better stuff to play with. KAC DD COLT FN just to name a fewā¦.
1
u/MourningWood1942 May 06 '26
Lots of stuff on YouTube, consensus is good I havenāt heard anything and about it from the Americans

u/Status_Ticket5044 May 06 '26
I'm with you. I think I'm going to "rent" a MRA Renegade for a year to cope .223/5.56 wise. If these aren't crap and by some miracle, still legal next April or so, then I'll dive in. I have no prohibs and I want to keep it that way. An SKS and a bunch of semi- 22LRs is enough ban-bait while a lot of legal dust settles.
Who knows. SCoC quashing the OICs might keep the feds hamstrung enough to invite a flood of more/other semi-autos not directly defined by C21.

trust me, if the market and competition is way larger. You'll see this rifle marked around 1500.
1
u/Amazing_Pudding1896 May 06 '26
It's selling for 1700 freedom dollars south of the border...wich translate to roughly 2400 CAD

u/Current-Speed4096 May 06 '26
i don't know much about weaponry engineering, but i feel like it's inflated heavily.

Hey I'm new to shooting .223 and 5.56, can someone point me in a good direction as to which 10 round pistol mags would work most reliably with these? Like what brand and material should I be looking at from Canadian retailers.Ā
