I'm getting pissed of just reading this lol

u/Brapika Mar 22 '26

Never even waste the effort replying to people like this. Bad enough on kijiji. This guy would probably show up with no PAL and accidentally only have as much cash as he originally said. Instant block.

15

u/rYrYCN114 Mar 23 '26

Big POS energy from Mr. $350.

73

u/CAFirearmSociety Mar 22 '26

Sold mine for $465 plus a free carry case. My inbox was destroyed. I thought it was fair price but I guess stupid move on my part.

56

u/No_Win_9797 Mar 22 '26

Thank you from the gun community for your generosity. I sure hope it went to a newbie who needed one.

40

u/BigCyanDinosaur Mar 22 '26

It didn't, new users don't use gunpost

13

u/bertaboys02 Mar 22 '26

Idk I bought my first gun from gun post (other than some hand me downs) and I got an sks about 1.5 years ago for 400$. All I could afford on my current student budget I wanted one so bad.

-12

u/1anre Mar 23 '26

Except you had storage in your parents home, where will a student keep such?

6

u/bertaboys02 Mar 23 '26

At my house I rent with my buddies? I don't understand

1

u/Cbrad1609 Mar 22 '26

I’m new and on gun post, I was recommended gun post by someone even newer than I.

1

u/1anre Mar 23 '26

He got outsmarted

20

u/No-culture5942 Mar 22 '26

Nah you probably sold it to a scalper who posted it back the next week for 1200 with a chinese surplus chest right and an oil bottle.

9

u/No_Win_9797 Mar 22 '26

I seen a Chinese tickler on gunpost last night for $1400- sold Devastated

1

u/Geralt-of-Rivai Mar 22 '26

That's when you know you've underpriced something when you get 30 replies saying they'll take it within 20 minutes of posting

1

u/diablo_man Mar 23 '26

I actually saw someone delete and repost an item on FB marketplace at a higher price, and admit that in the add "relisting at higher price due to interest in Ad".

It didnt sell lol I got it when he dropped it back to the original price

Reading comprehension is really hard, huh?

12

u/NecessaryRisk2622 Mar 22 '26

Found the low baller lol

175

u/rastamasta45 Mar 22 '26

650 is actually a steal with current SKS values! Also what a loser

28

u/NEUMANN-METALWORKS Neumann Metalworks Mar 22 '26

Yeah total clown... probably low balling everybody to try and make a point and argue. You can list an SKS for 700 and have 10 messages in an hour. I have an early 1950 Tula, I bought it for $600 and the guy said he had about 45 people message him but he picked me because I was the only one that was local.

I'm going to be reselling it at some point but older Russians right now are 900-1000 + tax from any LGS.

1

u/Gdude-2k Mar 23 '26

Definitely not true on th 10 messages in an hour

Took me like 2 weeks to sell my Chinese Sks woth blade bayonet

Put it up at $725 and only got like 5 messages in the first week 3 of which wanted to trade me stuff i didnt want for it despite me having specifically saying no trades beyond XYZ and 2 messages of people lowballing me 2-300 under my asking price claiming at sorts of BS as to why I was asking too much

2

u/Gemione Mar 22 '26

What is SKS value?

1

u/rastamasta45 Mar 22 '26

Currently 1K now

1

u/1anre Mar 23 '26

For a brand new in the crate copy from a retailer?

1

u/Gemione Mar 23 '26

I bought a crate of 7.62 and got the SKS for $70 like 10 years ago.

1

u/AdeptArt Mar 23 '26

Honestly 650$ decent to good deal for chinese non tickler. Russian more.

1

u/Familiar_Hunt_5164 Mar 23 '26

I got my 54 tula last year for 600. Glad I didn't wait and got a couple more spam cans too! Prices are even crazier now!

73

u/2feetandathrowaway Mar 22 '26

625 isn't even unreasonable

16

u/FuzzyLampShade Mar 22 '26

Yeah that’s a good deal. Hope OP gave that goof a bad review

2

u/bcw_83 Mar 22 '26

You can't unless it's an actual sale between two people. A guy tried to give me a bad review because I wouldn't drive an hour to him to sell my rifle.

2

u/King-Moses666 Mar 22 '26 edited Mar 22 '26

Fun fact, cant review on gunpost unless the sale has been completed between 2 users.

Unless that policy has been changed.

Edit: gunpost must have changed that policy at some point then. I had a guy being super shady on gunpost so I went to give a bad review and my review was denied due to ā€œterms of use rule 6ā€. Not sure why then.

4

u/NEUMANN-METALWORKS Neumann Metalworks Mar 22 '26

None of my sales on Gunpost get "completed" cause I don't close my ads, they're products I consistently have, and I've got tons of reviews

1

u/King-Moses666 Mar 22 '26

Strange I wonder why my review got denied for the situation I am remembering. Essentially had a guy being super shady so I went to leave a poor review and got denied due to ā€œterms of use policy 6ā€.

1

u/NEUMANN-METALWORKS Neumann Metalworks Mar 22 '26

Not sure! I think the site owners/admins review every user review, ad post and edit before approving, until you become a "trusted member" which I am. At that point you can post as many ads reviews and edits as you want without them having to be approved. Maybe an admin checked your review out and denied it for some reason.

1

u/King-Moses666 Mar 22 '26

Could be possible. Was a long time ago so I forget the specific’s other than they denied because of rule 6

u/King-Moses666 Mar 23 '26

So just so I follow correct. Your bad review stuck because they claimed the deal was completed? Even though it was not. So just purely on those key words it skates through that rule?

Such a strange rule.

27

u/CrazyCatWelder Mar 22 '26

People like this are why I don't bother reselling things anymore. I'll take the loss over dealing with them lol

3

u/greennalgene Mar 22 '26

100%. Obviously not guns because I’m not selling anything ever, but everything else ends up in our local upcycling group.

Absolutely phenomenal waste of my time in today’s society.

1

u/i-Hermit Mar 22 '26

Yeah, I have a Savage axis 2 precision that I don't use anymore and it just sits because I don't want to deal with selling it.

26

u/16gaugeguy16 Mar 22 '26 edited Mar 22 '26

I sold a Chinese SKS last February. I was adamant that I was asking 450 and not taking a dollar less. He agreed to meet up and then complained about the mismatched serial #'s, cracks in the stock, etc (which I listed in the ad). He lowballed me, saying he would only pay $350 (I told him to pound salt, and he bought it anyways).

A week later, he had it on gunpost asking $550 and completely failing to mention any of the things I had mentioned.

14

u/boozefiend3000 Mar 22 '26

I sold a guy an m39 for 1800 bucks and like a month later he had it listed for 4000 lol people are just fuckedĀ

3

u/outline8668 Mar 22 '26

They just have no shame. I would feel like a scum bag flipping it so quickly like that

1

u/16gaugeguy16 Mar 23 '26

100%. I have bought and flipped many guns, but I take it as an opportunity to try a gun out for a year or so before selling it (and some end up staying in my collection). I would also never low ball someone to then try to make a profit.

-2

u/1anre Mar 23 '26

Can one sure such people?

21

u/EvanAzzo Mar 22 '26

"the only peasant I see here is the poor that can't afford what I'm asking"

Then I would stop responding

3

u/FuzzyLampShade Mar 22 '26

Boom, roasted šŸ˜‚

18

u/Glockinmytacklebox Mar 22 '26

Lmao. Sucks for everyone, this guys a clown

11

u/Acceptable-Two-3563 Mar 22 '26

Ignore and move onĀ

12

u/dekman70 Mar 22 '26

Why not post his name so we can all block/ridicule him??

10

u/xXxDarkSasuke1999xXx Mar 22 '26

Gunpost needs to add the ability to clown react messages

10

u/CanadiansDeserveGuns Mar 22 '26

It's the fact that you were patient enough and tried to reason with him, and he still acted a fool.

6

u/Weak-Coffee-8538 Mar 22 '26

I had the same thing a few years ago.

"It was worth $100 like (insert year) ago. Sell it to me for that price."

Fuck out of here.

2

u/prosper_0 Mar 22 '26

worst is when its the other way. "Paid $400 for these primers." So? They're worth about a hundred bucks now. Why should I subsidize your bad decisions?

12

u/DustyPotatoes22 Mar 22 '26

lol at ā€œmade by peasantsā€. I’d like to see this loser try and make a more reliable rifle.

10

u/xXxDarkSasuke1999xXx Mar 22 '26

Forget that, I'd like to see any Canadian company make a more reliable semi auto rifle

Guns are like motorcycles. You buy, then you buy, then you,… buy

7

u/MapleBaconBeer Mar 22 '26

To upgrade to a better gun...

16

u/Altruistic-West-802 Mar 22 '26

No reason to keep the low ends after acquiring another high end.

6

u/nax_91 Mar 22 '26

Just block these idiots and move on. Simple

6

u/Reptilian_Brain_420 Mar 22 '26

Damn, I just looked at SKS prices.

I have an honor guard variant that I might just need to get rid of one of these days...

5

u/Enough_Challenge7264 Mar 22 '26

The OP can save himself a lot of heartache and headache by just putting a "firm" adjective type descriptor in the FS ad.

Keeps the tire kickers to a minimum.

5

u/Cope180-Enjoyer Mar 22 '26

Buyer doesn't know what inflation and liberal gun laws are.

4

u/FioreFX Mar 22 '26

I'll give you tree fiddy.

4

u/R4ID on Mar 22 '26

guys a bozo

4

u/Reasonable_Employ_70 Mar 22 '26

He just wants it cheap. And he's very annoying.

3

u/GasMan1021 Mar 22 '26

Release the name....start shaming these losers.

3

u/airchinapilot Mar 23 '26

Nah please don't. Don't bring other site drama into this one please.

4

u/ThePoeticJester Mar 22 '26

Can't imagine this guy at an actual gun show talking to some old man

"You only paid $50 for this rifle when you got it in the 1960s, if youre asking more than you paid youre scalping" 🤔🤔

19

u/th3badwolf_1234 Mar 22 '26

I passed on SKS when they were 249.99 and came with a crate of ammo, 650+ market value is where it's at today but it won't change the fact that it's hot garbage copium in today's gun market.

8

u/Equal_Intern2322 Mar 22 '26

What gun market?

11

u/th3badwolf_1234 Mar 22 '26

The one in which people think an SKS is worth 899. FOC was never pro gun, they are pro money. They price to squeeze those with FOMO.

7

u/CanadiansDeserveGuns Mar 22 '26

I agree with the fact that it's copium. That being said, tho, I am proud of Canadians who sold out every online retailer. They are hot right now, as it's one of the cheapest semi auto centrefire rifles and are almost indestructible

-7

u/th3badwolf_1234 Mar 22 '26

If reliable is the only criteria you judge a firearm by, better buy 3x the ammo for when it misses the barn door.

If the retailers wanted to be pro guns, they'd sell them a 299 to send a message. It's not like they are buying new stock of those, they came into Canada ages ago at 100$ a piece at most. Then the public would be in a better position against the "buy back". Instead they squeeze as much as they can from buyers with FOMO.

3

u/EnvironmentalBox6688 Mar 22 '26

If reliable is the only criteria you judge a firearm by, better buy 3x the ammo for when it misses the barn door.

If you cant hit center of man with an SKS out to 300m, that is a you problem.

0

u/th3badwolf_1234 Mar 22 '26

Nobody said anything about missing a target at 300m.

By today standards the SKS's 4-8 MOA average with bulk ammo is absolutely bad.

2

u/EnvironmentalBox6688 Mar 22 '26

better buy 3x the ammo for when it misses the barn door.

You quite literally did say that.

3

u/th3badwolf_1234 Mar 22 '26

Yep, and they haven't imported any new SKS since, they are selling you old stock for 400% profit.

3

u/Wiggum13 Mar 22 '26

Just be like fuck yeah. I’ll do 350. And mail him a picture of your asshole.

3

u/Less_Ad_6609 Mar 22 '26

Someone doesn’t understand supply and demand

3

u/DougMacRay617 Mar 22 '26

Ive been using gun post since soon after its inception. Ive never had to deal with anyone like this and i love that 99% of my interactions with individuals on there has been top tier and ive even made some friends through sales.

You handled this guy like a true gent.

3

u/pinuscontortas Mar 22 '26

In a perfect world, no one would be able to sell anything for more than it's actual worth. But that's not how shit works.

3

u/Iokua_CDN Mar 22 '26

Damn 625 is an amazing price! You'll sell it for that no issue,Ā  this guy is delusionalĀ

1

u/Gdude-2k Mar 23 '26 edited Mar 23 '26

Lol took me almost 3 weeks to sell my basically brand new blade bayonet Chinese sks and I was only asking $725

Some buyers are straight delusional though

1

u/Iokua_CDN Mar 23 '26

That's a less good comparison,Ā  3 weeks ago and there were Chinese sks rifles being sold in store for that price,Ā  so your price was basically just saving the tax for local buyers.

Sorry, but yours wasn't a good deal and I would have skipped it too

1

u/Gdude-2k Mar 23 '26 edited Mar 23 '26

Said I was asking $725 didnt say i sold it for that lol

I was also splitting shipping costs as well

But yeah go off I guess

3

u/numbdigits Mar 22 '26

The market is what it is, this guy is delusional. I passed many times on $150-$200 SKS because the platform itself just doesn't hold any appeal to me but that doesn't mean I think I should be able to get one for that price now if I had an unexpected change of heart.

I'd not let that get to me if I were the O.P., just ignore and move on, if it's listed at a reasonable price there will be many more interested (and legitimate) potential buyers.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 23 '26

2

u/AdeptArt Mar 23 '26

yeah this guy makes me emphasize with those CGN ads saying no lowballers/tire kickers. dude forgot inflation exists.

3

u/DacianDan Cosmoline Fondue Mar 24 '26

This smells like either someone who thinks their 1952/53 Soviet SKS is now worth a fortune because Panda Express SKS rifles are selling for $500-600, or someone who thinks their M91/30 Mosin is on the same level as a Mauser versus of a bent bolt handle.

2

u/Weak_Flamingo_3031 Mar 22 '26

There’s a lot of people that advertise thing way over there value and don’t actually care of it sells.

2

u/Erick2142 Mar 22 '26

That's a good point. "Scalping" very bad except for houses. You still have it for sale? I'd buy it if you're local

2

u/ultragigasimp Mar 22 '26

If I saw a French tickler for 625$ near me I would jump on it so fast I’d twist my ankle

2

u/Bitter_Lettuce2970 Mar 22 '26

I’m trying to imagine what it’s like going through life being such a complete idiot. Does he put his shoes on before his pants?

2

u/Current-Speed4096 Mar 22 '26

somebody didn't get enough ass whooping as a kid. Despite the ridiculous offer, nobody in their right mind will talk to a stranger like this.

2

u/mdmaxOG Mar 22 '26

Totally reasonable asking price in today’s market. Is it crazy. Yes. We’re in crazy times, the buyer, in this case, was simply being a dick.

2

u/MourningWood1942 Mar 22 '26

I remember when the SKS was 50 cents

2

u/Unlikely_sniper Mar 22 '26

Gunpost gives me brain rot.

2

u/kyleh4171 Mar 22 '26

I wouldn’t even reply…

2

u/Glass-Revolution1504 Mar 22 '26

Had a guy do the same to me when I was selling my sks then sold it for what I wanted 5 minutes later

2

u/[deleted] Mar 22 '26

Worst part about gunpost is having an ad that states price is firm, no trades, no shipping and all the responses are "will you sell for cheaper?", "will you trade for this?", "are you willing to ship?". Like read the fucking description...

1

u/commissar_lubi .303 rapid fire ^_^ Mar 23 '26

What's your lowest price 🫠

2

u/IPSC_Canuck Mar 22 '26

Lol $350 shipped!!?

How much would shipping be on an SKS with a signature?!?

2

u/Gdude-2k Mar 23 '26 edited Mar 23 '26

I sold an sks about a month ago

Oversize fee plus 18+ signiature required and $700 worth of shipping insurance was like $60-70

1

u/IPSC_Canuck Mar 23 '26

Thanks! I kinda figured it’d be somewhere between $50 and $75. Imagine offering someone $290 for their SKS at a gun show. I mean in 2016? Sure! You’d probably get some takers, but 2026! Ha! One of the last standing semi auto centre fire rifles. Craziness!

2

u/sandyvaginitis Mar 22 '26

I knew this was gonna be an Sks

2

u/Sad-Kitchen5576 Mar 22 '26

GP was always like this. It has a block feature too. Every post, I usually get 1 or 2 tire kickers before a normal person comes along. Yes there are normal people on there still

2

u/LEGENDK1LLER435 Mar 22 '26

Buyer isn’t wrong. Everyone complains about the SKS prices but reaps the benefits when they have one. It’s the same argument for housing. Main difference is where housing has a higher demand because it’s a human right to have shelter, the bubble will burst easier than with SKS’s with owners holding them in their safes waiting unbothered until they sell. I do give you props for selling yours at a reasonable price too obviously

2

u/huntersuave Mar 22 '26

My son and I paid 700 for a really nice one about 3 years ago. 800 is fair. If ypu go back far enough you'd come to a time when they were worth $50. Doesn't mean anyone would sell it for that.

2

u/EliteDuck Mar 23 '26

Messaging with no intent to buy is bannable on GP. Report them and the mods will sort it out.

2

u/Previous_Search3122 Mar 23 '26

I don't even reply to those people, it isn't worth it. They are not serious and you will waste your time.

4

u/redjohn79 Mar 22 '26

I usually say, yes and give them an address to a local comedy club to meet. When they ask where I am, I tell them I'm inside. Then I text them again to tell their joke of an offer to the crowd of people there.

1

u/hafetysazard Mar 22 '26

If I know what a gun is worth, I’ll throw a low-ball offer, but it rarely goes below throwing in the price of shipping and insurance. Less than half of asking, what gall.

1

u/MRWIGGLYWIGGLES Mar 22 '26

I had this same convo selling one the other day with this max guy. Mad because I wouldn't sell him a magazine. He told me the gun was significantly less than I paid for it new and I blocked his ass quick and reported him.

1

u/scottsuplol Mar 22 '26

This is why gunpost is trash, there needs to be a better forum to sell vs guys who are trying to get a diamond for the price of a rock

2

u/moonpie_888 Mar 22 '26

Ya it's canadian gun nutz

1

u/Realistic_Poem2016 Mar 22 '26

it's pretty solid compared to market place BS
SKS might be the exception.

1

u/Important-Wait-1389 Mar 22 '26

i never run into these idiots … i got luck i guess

1

u/dannysmackdown Mar 22 '26

Got my French tickler a few months ago for 625$, definitely happy with that price.

1

u/Sogone2day Mar 22 '26

Block and dont entertain

2

u/ShootyMcGun Mar 22 '26

Well that’s just stupid. It’s a free market you can ask $10 billion for it, doesn’t mean someone will pay it, but people getting upset at anyone’s asking price is retarded.

It’s not scalping if you are asking far less than retail. Ignorant fools getting mad at a seller for having bought something before market upticks is hilarious. May as well yell at sun for rising.

1

u/No_Praline_1835 Mar 22 '26

Wtf 650. lemme help you out lol

1

u/Deizelpunk Mar 22 '26

Just block them next time

1

u/FedInformant Mar 22 '26

Gunpost is usually a joke. People try to sell their used shit for more than what stores are selling new stuff for. However, in your case, your selling it for a reasonable price compared to what stores are selling it for. Fuck that guy

1

u/thxxx1337 Mar 22 '26

Why reason with the unreasonable?

1

u/Subrandom249 Mar 22 '26

Why are you debating with this guy?

1

u/Dizzy-Wedding5769 Mar 22 '26

I always get offers of 50 percent with same accusations

1

u/BigheadL95 Mar 22 '26

no need to waste time replying this kind of retard

1

u/MindYaBiznessMmk Mar 22 '26

The Poors gonna Poor

1

u/Educational_Sink_438 Mar 22 '26

Shit, I'd buy it for that price

1

1

u/mokapotWONTmokapot Mar 22 '26

Next house I try to buy I’m gonna use your example😭😭😭 I’m finally getting a 3 bedroom for $200 000

1

u/yourunclegord Mar 22 '26

Well to beufair if im buying i agree with him if im sellingmi agree with you lolol

1

u/Liampain125 Mar 22 '26

Can I buy it?

1

u/stratocaster_blaster Mar 22 '26

I’ll give you about tree fiddy

1

u/BookkeeperFew2671 Mar 23 '26

I payed 500 for a nice 1951 tula a few years ago and I thought that was to much. But current prices are compleatly insane. Thay being said this asshole is still a low balling prick. Give him a bad review.

1

u/RatioDependent9691 Mar 23 '26

Fuckin idiot bro

1

u/Nathanbks18 Mar 23 '26

Just skip to the next, not worth effort to explain that šŸ˜‚ if he’s not happy with your price, he should’ve gone to another post

1

u/22GageEnthusiast Mar 23 '26

$625 is actually what I paid for a French tickler SKS including shipping+taxes in 2022 so that's actually a very good deal.

1

u/swift_gilford Mar 23 '26

Honestly i just skip over the outrageous ads. Not worth my time to call them out for asking unobtainable prices.

The way i see it, when the prices are outlandish its either:

  • they are flat out trying to scam the uninitiated
  • they were scammed and now trying to recoup costs
  • their significant other got mad at them for the purchase and are being told to sell so they are asking outrageous pricing so no one actually buys it and they get to keep it

1

u/black_covfefe_please Mar 23 '26

Just block these people.

1

u/SessionPowerful Mar 23 '26

Damn this guy is an idiot. I've had nothing but good interactions on gunpost, but I guess there's always going to be people like this out there

1

u/escv_69420 Mar 23 '26

I feel like we should start a new sub just for hilarious GP messages.

1

u/Less-Armadillo-4555 Mar 23 '26

I feel you - it’s stupid for someone to think you would go back to a early 2000 price smh

1

u/MisterPineapple8 Mar 23 '26

Should’ve just sent a clown emoji and left

1

u/Even-Somewhere-9554 Mar 24 '26

Wow. You was very nice to reply him
