My family is extremely anti-gun going as far as to suggest that even owning one gun is a negative on society.

The same family told me during Covid that they’re gonna show up at my house when shit hits the fan because they know I can protect them.

As a first responder, I can guarantee you that it is more of a possibility than not. When you need them now, Police, Paramedic, and Fire are all minutes to an hour away. Everyone should be self-reliant and not depend on public resources as their first resort.

This is actually a reality for where I live. Thankfully I found out when it was just a transformer fire and not a huge emergency. They can get to me (eventually) but 911 connects me to some provincial dispatch and they had absolutely no clue where I was 😂

Yeah I experienced it in PEI and it was really disconcerting until I later took some personal responsibility for my safety. Growing up I always assumed I'd be able to get help and when I couldn't it freaked me right out the first time.

It’s downright scary in the area I live in. You’re lucky to get an answer within 10 minutes if you call 911 and I live in the GTA

I would ask them if that includes disarming the government. Because if it doesn’t then that logical pattern is not consistent.

It’s like banning old replicas of very low alcohol mead (the stuff they used to drink as water was not always safe.) because local criminals are making moonshine and importing proof vodka for cheap and selling it to local alcoholics.

Or in my example the low alcohol mead are flintlock pistols and the moonshine are homemade guns and the proof vodka are glocks with auto switches on them and Draco’s.

Unfortunately, this same logic is applied to lots of things. For example, the Caution: HOT warning on coffee cups... rules are applied to a majority because of a (stupid?) minority.

I was drawing a comparison to the quote in the image. I agree with what it's saying, it's true and ridiculous. How we have to go through all this BS and have our rights slowly taken away because of a minority. Minority meaning actual criminals, gov't lawmakers and their puppets.
