While I agree with the campaign to withdraw from the program to make the government effectively set a bunch of money on fire, I wish the CCFR didn't do these AI slop posts. We donate money directly or through merch purchases. Please use it on competent advertisement creation.

60

u/The_King_of_Canada mb Mar 27 '26

They also love to use heavily politicized language in their posts. I wish they would keep it simple and say they don't like the buyback and list the reasons why it's stupid instead they focus on rebranding the issue like politicians.

44

u/Acceptable_Visit_115 Mar 27 '26

I agree. Using polarizing languages further undermines their credibility.

8

u/WackTheHorld Mar 27 '26

I unfollowed them on IG because of their political language, and I was tired of seeing all the maple maga idiots in the comment section.

1

u/shekelMeGoys Mar 28 '26

You probably voted for carney

6

u/WackTheHorld Mar 28 '26

Why would I vote for the party with the gun ban?

1

u/shekelMeGoys Mar 28 '26

Okay good you didn’t you’d be surprised how many gun owners voted for carney it’s crazy. I’ve seen it before I was buying a shotgun at a gun store and there was 3 older guys in there about 50 to 60s talking about voting for carney I couldn’t believe it they were arguing with the gun store clerks about that we shouldn’t be able to own ARs and others semi automatic rifles. I told them they sound like communists before walking out.

1

u/The_King_of_Canada mb Mar 29 '26

Dont get me wrong. I like Carney. I prefer him over Pierre and i can agree with most of their platform especially compared to the CPC. But if you lie with the gun ban you aren't getting my vote.

You should let them know you’re willing to pay the extra money to hire photographers and models to help get the message out. Personally, I’d rather see these AI ads and have our money going to the Supreme court challenge that actually might stop this nonsense. But if you’re willing to pay the difference then my hat is off to you.

9

u/Ov3rReadKn1ght0wl Mar 27 '26

Not just for the CCFR, but generally, I'd throw in some extra bucks to avoid bad AI art. For the CCFR I understand that sometimes they just have to throw something together on the quick, but still. Some basic GD software competence can work miracles.

-14

u/Devilsrighthand420 Mar 27 '26

Get on it then! And because you’ve said you will I will watch for the shout out from them for your donation! Thanks in advance!

1

u/Ov3rReadKn1ght0wl Mar 28 '26

Yeah, unfortunately I am not in a position to give the sorts of amounts that would earn myself a rank in their thank bank, but I'll keep contributing to the organization and hope they can do what other organizations do, and you know, use dues revenue for different things.

4

u/22GageEnthusiast Mar 27 '26

You do realize that if want them to make non-AI posts that they would have to actually pay someone actual money to either make social media posts or do basic graphic design.

If you're not going to offer these kinds of services to them for free then I would seriously pipe down.

1

u/Ov3rReadKn1ght0wl Mar 28 '26 edited Mar 28 '26

Do they not teach division anymore? You know that we give them money through donations, membership dues, and merch purchases right? There is this seriously brilliant thing you can do with money called hiring people, or buying software, or expanding your knowledge bank by taking the money you receive from one avenue, and channeling it towards something you want. It's a brilliant thing called commerce! If we give them money, they can take our money and use it within their organization for lobbying efforts. I know it's probably a foreign concept to some, but I get it, education inequality and yadada.

If other lobbying organizations can put out publications and market using this wonderful thing called the resources at its disposal, I don't see how it is an earth-shattering ask of the CCFR.

Also, last time I checked Affinity and Canva are free programs and I have yet to see their organization put out a call for an improved comms division. So... unless you understand how revenue streams, the exchange of goods and services, and you know, basic knowledge of free graphics programs, pipe down.

Affinity and Canva are free programs. Cameras are in everyone's pockets. Moreover, not everything requires graphics.

1

u/Ov3rReadKn1ght0wl Mar 29 '26

You can also do a general social media post with a screenshot of the relevant language to confirm its legitimacy.

21

u/JurboVolvo Mar 27 '26

Is finding a white guy with a beard wearing plaid who supports the CCFR really that hard?

3

u/Ov3rReadKn1ght0wl Mar 28 '26

Apparently. Challenging them on the inefficacy of their marketing in this respect is 'pipe down' worthy.

1

u/JurboVolvo Mar 28 '26

Any criticism is hit pretty hard. They could be doing better… the decisions they are making is making this fight harder for no reason.

128

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '26

Rod needs to find a new partner for the CCFR, with the dumb shit Tracy posts she has become far too much of liability

60

u/mstrshakes Mar 27 '26

She was going on about that made up “day of jihad” and how she needs to keep her kids home locked and loaded because we can’t carry. I said the fear mongering is a bad look and she blocked me on Instagram lol.

24

u/NEUMANN-METALWORKS Neumann Metalworks Mar 27 '26

Lady's backup plan gonna be in the Trump admin or some shit, those dudes love AI slop

5

u/K0bra_Ka1 Mar 27 '26

Honestly she's basically unhinged at this point. It's embarrassing to have her as the public face of the CCFR

2

u/mwmwmwmwmmdw Mar 28 '26

what if we instead elected her to parliament as a counter to provost. fight chaos with chaos

1

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '26

Ahahahahaha this might actually be a plan.

In all seriousness though: with the way things are going with Provost I'm actually glad she got elected. Things wouldn't be different if her area was represented by a different Liberal MP because she has next to no sway, however with the way things have been going and judging by her appearance on Monday it seems that all she's going to accomplish is showing the average Joe that anti's are off their rocker and she'll end up either heavily medicated or institutionalized.

In a sense it'd be bad to have Tracy elected for the same reason.

15

u/NeruLight Mar 27 '26

This AR is equipped with 80lb drawstrings lmao

123

u/weneedafuture Mar 27 '26

Hey now, don't go reminding me about the worst parts of the CCFR...

51

u/Marilius Mar 27 '26

Tracey is the worst part of the CCFR.

32

u/feelingblurple Mar 27 '26

100% agree. The CCFR has been amazing. But when you’re the focus of the entire gun control movement in Canada and when firearms and property rights are already on thin ice, there has to be more professionalism and class in each and every step, including every post, interview, etc. Tracey is just simply not vibing the way Rod does, and it really shows IMHO. I hate to say it, but I really think she detracts from the overall positive image of the CCFR. Too late to do anything about this now though.

22

u/Devilsrighthand420 Mar 27 '26

The worst part of the CCFR is the whiners who don’t or barely contribute while shitting on the people who dedicate their lives to stopping the govt. confiscation scheme.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '26

Yes, like the whiners who refused to support the S74 applications in 2020 - 2022 and are now talking about how all the people suing the government in SK (per the new legislation there) will cause big problems for the government.

On right, those people are the CCFR.

3

u/BlackElmyr Mar 28 '26

I kind of agree. Kind of. Well-meaning constructive criticism shouldn't be shut down and discouraged. If it's meant to build a stronger organization and community for our cause, that's a good thing right? Otherwise it's just top down directives, "We know what's best. Just sit down and shut up." stuff. The exact kind of thing a lot of us complain about from all levels of government.

2

u/Cadaren99 on Mar 27 '26

No it's Tracey, the people you just described either never joined or left after Tracey went sideways.

9

u/Winter-Sympathy5037 Mar 27 '26

Well until one of us wants the job we need her don't we?

11

u/Marilius Mar 27 '26

No, not really. She actively harms the organization by being a part of it.

5

u/Winter-Sympathy5037 Mar 27 '26

I'd vote for you if you want the job.

1

u/PrestigiousStatus711 Mar 27 '26

Volunteer and do a better job.

2

u/I_Automate Mar 30 '26

Id settle for Tracy just not doing the job and not actively harming the cause

-9

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '26

Tracy has a tattoo on he cleavage and looks like the bride of chucky.... That's who represents us 🤢

8

u/ReturnOk7510 Mar 27 '26

Don't care about how she looks, just what she says. I like when she live tweets government proceedings. I don't like when she posts own the libs style unhinged bullshit on social media and makes us look like a bunch of dumb fucking rednecks.

5

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '26 edited Mar 28 '26

Unfortunately in today's Canadian political climate optics are everything.

A woman who looks and speaks the way she does is a horrible look for the Canadian gun lobby.

5

u/Ov3rReadKn1ght0wl Mar 28 '26

What she says and does is more important than appearances. Her general efforts aren't the worst, but a lot of her social media presence is Poly level caustic in some respects and doesn't really do the community any favours.

10

u/Remarkable_Vanilla34 Mar 27 '26

Seriously man. No one else is doing it. Theres other gun lobbyists and they hardly accomplish anything

Unbelievable.

3

u/GhostProtocolGaming Mar 27 '26

?

74

u/Spider-King-270 Mar 27 '26

The CCFR has been constantly using AI slop both on their social media and on their merch store/website… it’s pretty lazy and awful tbh.

29

u/BackToTheCottage Mar 27 '26

I got into the CCFR watching Ron's videos in the early 2010s but Tracy was always the weird boomer who keeps making the CCFR an embarrassment.

23

u/TeneCursum Mar 27 '26

Boomers love AI slop unfortunately

Unfortunately I agree. It serves a purpose. I don't like AI generated messaging but can't deny it quickly and cheaply gets the message the CCFR was trying to deliver. Job done More of a limited pool of money for things like challenges in the SCC

It's hilarious that I keep seeing broad generalizations of Boomers. Some here say Boomers hate AI slop, others say the exact opposite. Like I said hilarious. I used to work in a place dominated by Boomers, they had some pretty strong and dim views of other generations, including me.

I never understood then and still don't get how people can believe in categorizing millions of people based on their year of birth. It's more likely that kind of thinking more accurately reflects personal bias than broadly fact based reality.

1

u/BlackElmyr Mar 29 '26

Well, yeah those people exist. But it's not the same people. The comments section in this thread and many other c/gun threads is filled with the same generalizations. You'd think people who're being marginalized and criminalized unfairly would be less likely to do it themselves.

2

u/I_Automate Mar 30 '26

Its not "effective" if it makes you look like uneducated hicks

0

u/Papabandit_ Mar 27 '26

Isn’t the worst parts of it every part? Seriously they e done nothing but burn money

55

u/GetGoodOrGetRekt Mar 27 '26

They could literally have just taken a real photo that would take 2 seconds to set up. A lot of people don't see a big issue with using ai but it delegitimizes the message for those on the outside. Personally I'd love to see less use of it on subjects I feel are important

23

u/Corporal_Canada Mar 27 '26

Yeah, are we seriously dealing with a shortage of firearms owners that we need to resort to AI?

There are ordinary people from all walks of life who would probably agree to pose for a real photo

19

u/itsjehmun Mar 27 '26

Is that an assault style weapon of war?

9

u/mr_cake37 Mar 27 '26

That might actually be the first example of an "assault style firearm"

8

u/Itsivanthebearable Mar 27 '26

Yea idk what gun that is lol

9

u/Agent_1812 https://youtu.be/mrAwb9ptu9U Mar 27 '26

a gun that floats in the air

2

u/stickupmybutter Mar 27 '26

So it's a drone?

1

u/Agent_1812 https://youtu.be/mrAwb9ptu9U Mar 27 '26

float like a butterfly, sting like a bee

1

u/Spread-Hour Mar 27 '26

Those "assault style" people piss me off. Acting like firearms of today aren't 1000% more hands off and less barbaric than weapons of the past. If you didnt have a shot loaded into your musket you either put a 2 foot long knife on the muzzle turning it into a spear/pike to stab your enemy to death with or you fucking caved in the skull of whoever you were fighting with your brass reinforced buttstock. THATS assault style.

Not like this sissy polymer garbage.../j

19

u/KdF-wagen Mar 27 '26

Com'on. Get the flag right and put the gun in a better position. If you are gonna use Ai slop at least re-prompt and get it to fix things. Don't just click on the first image.

15

u/FailedCoder86 Mar 27 '26

The AI slop is awful but the message is good

20

u/thxxx1337 Mar 27 '26

Lowkey disrespecting the flag

-3

u/boozefiend3000 Mar 27 '26

To be fair, there’s not much to respect 🤷🏻‍♂️

11

u/Spacemanspiff1998 on Mar 27 '26

Them using AI slop is a massive missed opportunity to have a photo shoot with real CCFR members to show the government and the public that ordinary law abiding gun owners are just that, Ordinary members of the public like everybody else. using AI Slop immediately discredits and invalidates whatever you have to say

4

u/boozefiend3000 Mar 27 '26

You have to withdraw your declaration before the collection period starts, which is in 5 days. Theres no time for that lol the message had to be out quick

3

u/CalibreMag Mar 27 '26

Incorrect. You can withdraw consent right up until you give them your gun.

Once the gun has been confiscated, then you lose the ability to withdraw.

2

u/boozefiend3000 Mar 28 '26

Ah okay, I thought it was once the confiscation stage started

1

u/CalibreMag Mar 28 '26

Yeah - and sorry if I came across as a dick there; it's a super common misconception so I just wanted to correct it in the most direct manner possible so people know what their options are!

1

u/boozefiend3000 Mar 28 '26

Never thought you were a dick lol I know who you are

2

u/Ashkore_The_Dragon Mar 27 '26

This. Everyone for this post is all "leftists hate ai". These people have to grow up. The saying "a picture is worth a thousand words" is still a thing.

Is this picture aimed at the gun community? Yes. Will the general public see it? Also yes. A strong image is what you want the public to see. An organization that supports gun owners but can't provide a simple real photo of someone holding a sign for a photo? Lazy and to me, shows a disconnect.

The next issue is the gun. Obviously important given the topic, and needed bad enough to ask ai to spit garbage out. A better alternative would've been to have someone pose with a banned .22 or have a few others around that are obviously ridiculous to ban.

This way anyone outside the community that stumbles upon the image, will have a slightly better idea of how stupid this ban is.

I have no idea if I make sense. I'm typing this on my phone at work while drilling blast holes. If your organization is at the point you're going to the supreme court, put some effort into your public relations.

5

u/Hot-Layer-7624 Mar 27 '26

I appreciate that the NFA doesn’t use ai

6

u/22GageEnthusiast Mar 27 '26

I appreciate that the NFA do nothing but blow hot air and love going on Rebel News to preach to the choir even more.

21

u/ReturnOk7510 Mar 27 '26

Tracey is honestly the reason I stopped donating to the CCFR. Rod is generally pretty reasonable, but she's unhinged.

10

u/Feeling-Water-6824 Mar 27 '26

Its just a pic. Whether AI or not. Its just a reminder and that's really all it should come down to. Sometimes the CCFR can be a bit much at times, but who else is fighting for our rights at the moment. If we rollover, the government will just steamroller over firearms owners, no matter what you own.

CCFR going to the Supreme Court has a very good shot at turning this over. The OIC really is Ultra Vires if they argue correctly. I'm hopeful it will get over turned. I also believe the amnesty will get another extension. The government is not going to throw a million people in jail or go door to door. Not going to happen.

Nothing will happen will PAL renewals either. Those are the responsibility of the CFO and not thrle RCMP or government. They can advise, but the CFO is in charge of new PALs and renewals.

At the end of the day we are all fireaems owners and need each other's back no matter the firearm.

6

u/AllDay1980 Mar 27 '26

Least of my concerns is a quick AI photo.

6

u/22GageEnthusiast Mar 27 '26

The CCFR can post as much AI content as they want for all I care. They're the only ones who actually got a case before the Supreme Court. I'd rather them save money using AI then paying someone actual donation/membership money for what AI can do for free.

The rest of you clowns criticizing couldn't be bothered to do anything in advancing or protecting gun rights in Canada besides whining and nitpicking everything that the CCFR does.

8

u/FrozenReesesPieces Mar 27 '26

Is this really our worry? Jesus. The point and message is there and clear.

It makes the organization look like a bunch of amateurs, using such a lazy image. The message can be good but the implementation is awful.

It's such an easy thing to do properly and they missed the target.

1

u/Mercrantos2 Mar 28 '26

You're overthinking it. Calm down, it's just a picture.

31

u/xXxDarkSasuke1999xXx Mar 27 '26

If you can't afford the exorbitant cost of... taking a photo of a guy holding a sign, then just don't post anything. AI slop is worse than useless because it makes you look less credible.

5

u/RolandDirlewanger Mar 27 '26

Lmao this really where we at now????

2

u/Calgaryfox Mar 27 '26

There is something so very off-putting and unnatural about this photo.

3

u/R4ID on Mar 27 '26

Id rather every single dollar go towards the court case instead of paying a model, a photographer, and then editing/additional costs.

I see no problem with things like this, if you do, go offer ur time/money to change that.

2

u/CanadianGunNoob Mar 27 '26

For a quick throw away post, this is fine. It might take 10 minutes to make this with an ai prompt. To make a roughly equivalent graphic would take an inordinate amount of time and money better spent elsewhere. Though next time, they should leave the gun out of the prompt. That thing is an abomination.

1

u/I_Automate Mar 30 '26

A cell phone photo of an office staffer holding a printed sign would take an intern an hour to do and would be a darn sight better than this.

Or make it a text only post and save even that time

Rod is amazing. I agree with a lot of his ideas and statements - Tracy on the other hand has so many radical ideas and viewpoints it’s almost hard to support them.

Don’t get me wrong they’re working very hard for us and I appreciate the work they’re doing

3

u/AuroraUnit117 Mar 27 '26

Can't expect the CCFR with their millions of dollars made off gun owners to pay artists!

4

4

28

u/thxxx1337 Mar 27 '26

If their own base thinks it's weak, what do you think our opposition thinks of it?

7

u/TescoValueSoup Mar 27 '26

I don't think "our opposition" are the ones the CCFR are encouraging to back out of the ASFCP

1

u/hitmanhux Mar 27 '26

I see your point. But to be fair, the opposition isn't going to change their mind over real vs AI image.

10

u/xXxDarkSasuke1999xXx Mar 27 '26

The "opposition" is a lost cause, we need to focus on convincing undecided people.

Only the CCFR doesn't do that either, Tracey is an unhinged boomer who does nothing but create terrible PR.

8

u/hitmanhux Mar 27 '26

Completely agree. Doubling down becoming a maple maga hurts us all. We need to leave politics and political leanings out of it.

23

u/xXxDarkSasuke1999xXx Mar 27 '26

AI makes you look less credible. This is absolutely worth criticizing the CCFR over, as is Tracey's conduct on social media in general.

As an aside, what "amazing work" has the CCFR actually accomplished? A single policy reversal, compromise, anything?

0

u/LLSWSIF Mar 27 '26

Because of them our case is being heard at the Supreme Court.

3

u/xXxDarkSasuke1999xXx Mar 27 '26

Okay? Something that hasn't actually resulted in any policy change or law being struck down? One example from a decade of the CCFR existing that doesn't actually affect anything in and of itself. Let me know how the ruling goes, can't wait to see Reference Re Firearms Act 2.0 🙄

2

u/LLSWSIF Mar 27 '26

Supreme court didnt have to hear it but they did which means legally they thought they have a chance of success

8

How can you claim to be representative of the people, If they're not willing to pay for an art made by real people?

5

u/weneedafuture Mar 27 '26

Are we really making a stink about the use of AI?

Yes, we're being critical of lazy AI slop.

This doesn't take away from the fact that the CCFR is doing amazing work for us

Yes, most people can analyze actions independently and assess accordingly. By critiquing things this way the CCFR gets better as a whole, where less than ideal things are called out, while receiving praise for the good work they do. Binary, or whole-justifies-the-parts, thinking is not pragmatic and can pigeon-hole organizations like the CCFR.

1

u/Pro7o7ype Mar 27 '26

So we can expect the same level of disgust with other's in our circle for using AI for their ads?
I know I see a few other places (vendors) using AI.
Seems like a someone obvious attempt to attack Tracey and the CCFR.

3

u/weneedafuture Mar 27 '26 edited Mar 27 '26

So we can expect the same level of disgust with other's in our circle for using AI for their ads?

False equivalence I think. If you're comparing vendors of an unspecified size and reach to the only notable firearm group in Canada responsible for concise and convincing messaging, I think you've missed the mark.

Seems like a someone obvious attempt to attack Tracey and the CCFR.

Its an obvious attack on AI slop, a repeating critique of the CCFR. It wasn't long ago they released a boomer friendly AI "rap" song that my non-firearm-owning dad loved...

1

u/Remarkable_Vanilla34 Mar 27 '26

Most of the comments in here go beyond what is appropriate for "AI slop".

Tracy is a good person who does massive amounts of work for the movement and people in the comments are willing to write her off about AI. She clearly doesn't understand its cringe. Its also not nearly the crime you all think it is, its boomer Facebook stuff, and unfortunately it will probably continue to advance and grow in use at the same rate it increases in quality.

This is garbage. This image is not representative of me as a legal gun owner. I do not wear clothing about my guns, I live in a suburb, not some kind of fancy cabin in the woods. I’m not a right wing lumberjack farmer.

The CCFR is crazy for posting this legitimately.

6

u/boozefiend3000 Mar 27 '26

This actually offends you? lol

-2

u/Ah0te Mar 27 '26

No I’m not offended, I just think that posts like this hurt everyone here cause it makes us look like idiots. If you don’t agree, you’re definitely part of the problem.

6

u/boozefiend3000 Mar 27 '26

Wearing plaid makes us look like idiots? You’ve obviously never gone apple picking and see the sea of guys wearing plaid for their girlfriends photoshoots lol

1

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '26

Why don't you were gun clothes? I love wearing gun clothes!

Our orgs need some better long sleeve tee options though... I got one from the NFA but the cuffs on the sleeves are uncomfortable and the sleeves themselves are almost too short. It's great for shooting IPSC as my sleeves are never in my way but it drives my nuts for general wear.

4

u/boozefiend3000 Mar 27 '26

Alright, who cares? I’d say the message is more important than the art

The administration to the south is known to constantly use AI slop on various platforms.

As a Canadian gun owner I don't think our orgs using the same techniques can possibly do more good than harm. There are already people that likely see the whole canadian gun owning community as maple maga, no reason to help enforce their bias.

I think the criticism is that with using obvious AI slop the message itself tends to get a bit lost

-6

u/boozefiend3000 Mar 27 '26

If you focus on it lol I wasn’t even paying attention to the picture, the picture doesn’t matter

8

u/Double-Meaning-4489 Mar 27 '26

It does to the people that the message actually needs to win over, you're already on the same page as them

1

u/boozefiend3000 Mar 27 '26

That seems like really dumb reasoning. “I have a chance to keep my rifle if I withdraw from the program, but the picture is AI, so nope”

6

u/xXxDarkSasuke1999xXx Mar 27 '26

Anyone who has a gun affected by the ban already wants to keep it, which is sort of the core of the problem with CCFR's messaging. Everything they post is aimed to appeal to people who already agree with them, which is great for pandering for donations but not so great for actually achieving their policy goals.

2

u/boozefiend3000 Mar 27 '26

But this specific message is only supposed to be aimed at gun owners lol

1

u/xXxDarkSasuke1999xXx Mar 27 '26

Everything they post is only aimed at gun owners. You forget the time they took a bunch of donations to fund a tour around the country to... visit gun shops and solicit more donations?

2

u/boozefiend3000 Mar 27 '26

The election? Hit up a bunch of liberal MP offices too. You also can’t really advocate when there’s a hostile government in power. The entire existence of the CCFR has been under liberal government, a lot easier for the government to fight against your messaging when they hate you. Wait for a friendly government to come in so they can actually do outreach without being lambasted

1

u/xXxDarkSasuke1999xXx Mar 27 '26

Weak excuse. The CCFR could try appealing to moderate non-gun-owners to develop some opposition to LPC policies, but they don't even do that, they just pander to people who already agree with them to get donations.

No political project has ever been successful without making allies out of undecided people.

Tracey is and always was the worst kind of cringey boomer. So many of her posts are like this, or worse when she's parroting misinformation. She lies almost as much as Provost.

2

u/mjbonne Mar 27 '26

I really don’t see the big deal here, but that’s just me. They post a lot of volume, to have photo shoots every time they post would just be a waste of time.

2

u/Birdybadass Mar 27 '26

Literally every marking department in the world is using AI slop to some degree. The message is more important than the image.

6

u/123Bones Mar 27 '26

Until the image detracts from the message.

2

u/MHarrisrocks Mar 27 '26

This Sub CONSTANTLY trashing the CCFR with the same 2 arguments probably isn't doing much for the overall dialogue - especially with posts like this . The CCFR AGM is coming up in May - why not go and do your bitching there? CCFR membership fee is like 40 bucks a year and this sub acts like thats a personal insult and that Rod & Tracey are just grifting and stacking up the cash for themselves or something.

If you don't like the CCFR or don't like Tracey - whatever thats fine - but I dont think that this sub or the FA community really gains anything from a post like this and instead make us all look like children.

7

u/boozefiend3000 Mar 27 '26

It’s astroturfing. Half these commenters have hidden profiles

1

u/BlackElmyr Mar 27 '26

Not sure if anyone remembers when the CCFR courted Lauren Southern. There's a video piece of Rod taking her out to the range. There's at least one more of her advocating for gun owners rights under the CCFR banner.

She has a history of association with the far right and WS friendly views. Some of you might not know, care or agree with that assessment, but that was the general view of her at the time.

Rod and presumably the folks behind the CCFR, including Tracey aren't morons. Someone promoted the idea of using Lauren, and others backed it knowing her history and maybe more importantly for our cause, what the perception of her is.

Knowing that and hearing some of the stories here makes me wonder if some in the CCFR have leanings that might reflect an image we wouldn't want projected to the public. I hope not, but I have to wonder.

1

u/broken_footpeg Mar 27 '26

I don’t care what you think of her, she is out there at least doing something….. if you are out there doing more, I guess you can criticize her.
Plus, it should be mentioned directly to her, not posted online for all the liberals to see. It just looks like there is infighting.

If you want to bitch about something, make it about the gun grab, not the people actually doing something.

11

u/dgod40 Mar 27 '26

We have mentioned many times that she needs to stop her nonsense, but she doesn't care.

1

u/BlackElmyr Mar 28 '26 edited Mar 28 '26

Assuming you understood the point of what I wrote, you're basically saying you're OK with a far right WS as spokesperson for gun owners rights. I'm also going to assume then that you're not unfriendly to WS views yourself, and at least unconcerned with the damage association with a fairly well known WS adjacent figure like Southern could do to our cause.

Even if you are WS friendly yourself, you should be aware of the lower than whale dung view most people have of them. How does that association help the CCFR? Groups like Poly have been claiming for years that we're all the worst stereotypes people think of when it comes to firearms owners, yet you are fine with strengthening that? That's a different strategy than most would take.

As for bitching about the gun grab, I do. I wasn't aware of the rule that every single comment I ever wrote had to expressly say that. Apparently neither are 7/8 of the other commenters here either.

-2

u/Ov3rReadKn1ght0wl Mar 27 '26

Or you know, continue business as usual by criticizing the grab and also the quality control of our advocates' messaging.

1

u/Drasselll Mar 27 '26

Does it matter at the end of the day? I think it's more important to rejoice at the fact that we got a shot at the SCC. I'm not pro-AI, but I don't think creating outrage and division over benign things is what we need right now.

1

u/MG34owner Mar 27 '26

Me when my useless honeypot organization is posting ai slop after taking thousands of my dollars for nothing to show

7

u/Remarkable_Vanilla34 Mar 27 '26

Lol nothing to show. The CCFR has done more than any elected official or any other organization fight this government the last ten years.

I doubt you donated Thousands of dollars and if you did that would make you a fool.

2

u/MG34owner Mar 27 '26

During the 2020 bans, I donated 3.2k in total + membership since then. A lot of talking was done at the ranges, a lot of circlejerking in comments and online. They did what they could, aka nothing substantial, as they are “fighting” against a bottomless pile of money and power, but presenting yourself as a saviour is just wrong, when you know the odds

-1

u/Remarkable_Vanilla34 Mar 27 '26

I don't believe you and if you donated that much to a cause you don't believe in then your the fool.

3

u/MG34owner Mar 27 '26

Cornball thinks people can’t change their minds after a few years of nothing good happening, proceeds to ignore the points made

2

u/Remarkable_Vanilla34 Mar 27 '26

What "good" was supposed to happen? This was always a struggle and its amazing they got to the SCC. Don't blame the CCFR for not changing the LPC governments mind on gun control, the CPC lost, which limited the CCFRs influence.

I just live in reality, you think the CCFR owes you results and they don't and never promised you anything but to keep trying to fight the government, which is exactly what their delivering.

2

u/BlackElmyr Mar 28 '26

I hope most of these "people" criticizing the CCFR for not achieving unrealistic results in an unrealistic time frame are bots. I really don't want to believe that adults with PALs think that a grindingly slow, expensive system built by governments with all our resources could be quickly and inexpensively overturned with maximal results quickly. That would be delusional.

0

u/MG34owner Mar 27 '26

Maybe not use ai at least and don’t over inflate what they can actually accomplish? Maybe don’t circlejerk the same shit daily? Maybe you should reread the comment I made and cope a little better with this whole thing?

2

u/Remarkable_Vanilla34 Mar 27 '26

Dude your black pilled.

The AI thing is a minor, and pretty insignificant thing.

Sorry the CCFR has tried to keep people positive, hopeful and motivated.

The reason this confiscation scheme and gun ban is failing is not because little negative nellys have hurt feelings on the internet.

I donate to the CCFR and their doing exactly what they want. If they took my money and had your shitty negative attitude I would be pretty concerned

"I want the gun lobby to tell me its hopeless and stop trying because I didn't get the immediate results I expected".

1

u/MG34owner Mar 27 '26

There is keeping up hope and deadass lying about what you can achieve, set proper expectations. You are expressing chud behaviour by trying to fight in comments with no clear end goal. Are you trying to convince me that ccfr is a good organization but I’m still dumb that I gave them money, even though my opinion changed after meeting with them at the range and seeing the “progress” over the years? Or that circlejerking and schizoposting on instagram is good for community? Check comments under those posts, any anti gun lobby can pull those and say that we are all demented, hateful goombas. Immediate results aren’t immediate if I wait for 6 years. I am keeping my membership, carrying my coin and hoping, but this whole thing was hopeless from the start

3

u/Remarkable_Vanilla34 Mar 27 '26

I don't feel the CCFR has ever lied or set unreasonable expectations. Can you give me an example.

My criticism is that you seem to have this strong frustration with the CCFR but you also feel duped for giving them money and not getting the results you wanted. My point is that entirely on you and not the CCFR. You set unreasonable expectations and are frustrate that a lobby group couldn't deliver the results you wanted. They don't control politicians, or judges or the outcome of elections.

The whole thing is not hopeless and its been 6 years, lol the government has failed for 6 year, and is currently failing again and this is finally being heard by the SCC.

The CCFR has done more than any elected official or any other organization fight this government the last ten years.

While I generally believe this to be true and I've been a member almost since their inception, I still think Tracy is a liability and I think they waste a lot of money on dumb things.

You gave the CCFR thousands? Ummm, OK.

1

u/Altruistic-West-802 Mar 27 '26

Is she the beat spy Nathalie can borrow from Gary?

1

u/GoldenPheonix15 Mar 27 '26

I hate the AI they use and the independence movements use to

1

u/0N3-X Mar 27 '26

While I have mixed feelings with AL slop.

It's really not that hard to pose for a picture with a rifle and a Canadian flag at a cabin or in the outdoors. Someone wouldn't even have to be a professional photographer to pull it off.

Even with the Pros & Cons to the CCFR, I still stand by them for the work they've been doing and the message.

1

u/Water-Foul Mar 28 '26

I don’t care how much money you save using ai slop, it makes whatever you’re trying to say less credible. It’s like sending out political fliers with blatant typos, I’m going to assume that the sender is stupid or at least incompetent.

1

u/Psyex Mar 28 '26

If that is the only thing you can get them on is using AI. I've seen worse uses. There is now way that even the staunchest Liberal can think that spending hundreds of millions on seizures of guns from people whom have not broken the law is a wise use of limited government resources. A fraction of that money used on a smuggling task force and some serious penalties that judges actually enforce, would do more good.

1

u/Visual-Confection400 Mar 28 '26

It's so they can't go after a legit human for doing that

1

u/xpingux Mar 28 '26

What have you personally done to help fight the firearm ban?

1

u/falcon1423 Mar 28 '26

I’m just happy to see something mainstream against it. I’m due to inherit my father’s firearms hopefully not anytime soon. But if the bans in place is lose half of them

1

u/megoder Mar 28 '26

Criticize all you like. If you own guns. You should support her

1

u/Worldly-Ordinary5805 Mar 29 '26

Focusing on the wrong issue OP

3

u/FngrBngr-84 Mar 27 '26

I think the majority of us don't care. Use whatever tools necessary and available to spread the message. Spend my money on lawyers to fight Liberal Authoritarianism in court.

0

u/NiagaraBTC Mar 27 '26

Every AI photo isn't "AI slop"

I see no problem here. If you don't like it, make a better post yourself.

"hey, do you want to be part of our campaign? hold up a sign that says _____ or _____ and pose with your lawfully owned rifle."

Easy as pie. No slop, real people.

1

u/jollygreengiant1655 Mar 28 '26

...and how many real people do you think will line up for the opportunity to be potentially doxxed by the anti's?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '26

Not the message I would have sent. I think a message of a reasonable, grounded law abiding citizen who is responsible enough to enjoy the hobby of firearms and shooting sports comes across much better than a paranoid hillbilly who believes he needs guns because of an ingrained fear of society and impending social collapse.

1

u/BlackElmyr Mar 29 '26

Not what I'd have sent either. But that's no hillbilly or maybe you meant redneck. Either way, the pic just represents a generic late 20' to mid 30's white male. I've seen , served with, talked to , drunk with , sworn at that guy in downtown Toronto, Mission BC, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and the HRM. I look nothing like him and he doesn't look like a paranoid hillbilly to me.

Why are worrying about AI 🤖? Fud Alert 🔔

0

u/Ok_Juggernaut1074 Mar 27 '26

Don’t totally agree but with speech of freedom in question no real person with any opinion would come forward for camera and put a target on their back. I guess it is kind of playing safe by use of AI.

-6

Yeah it’s dumb, but who cares? Pay attention to the message she is sending.

-3
