If their own base thinks it's weak, what do you think our opposition thinks of it?

I don't think "our opposition" are the ones the CCFR are encouraging to back out of the ASFCP

I see your point. But to be fair, the opposition isn't going to change their mind over real vs AI image.

The "opposition" is a lost cause, we need to focus on convincing undecided people.

Only the CCFR doesn't do that either, Tracey is an unhinged boomer who does nothing but create terrible PR.

Completely agree. Doubling down becoming a maple maga hurts us all. We need to leave politics and political leanings out of it.

AI makes you look less credible. This is absolutely worth criticizing the CCFR over, as is Tracey's conduct on social media in general.

As an aside, what "amazing work" has the CCFR actually accomplished? A single policy reversal, compromise, anything?

Because of them our case is being heard at the Supreme Court.

Okay? Something that hasn't actually resulted in any policy change or law being struck down? One example from a decade of the CCFR existing that doesn't actually affect anything in and of itself. Let me know how the ruling goes, can't wait to see Reference Re Firearms Act 2.0 🙄

Supreme court didnt have to hear it but they did which means legally they thought they have a chance of success

Idk wtf else you want outside of legal action

I've outlined several times in this thread what I think the CCFR should do differently.

I suggest you look into what the actual issue under consideration at the supreme court is because even a favorable ruling would not change the status quo with regard to the post-2020 bans.

How can you claim to be representative of the people, If they're not willing to pay for an art made by real people?

Are we really making a stink about the use of AI?

Yes, we're being critical of lazy AI slop.

This doesn't take away from the fact that the CCFR is doing amazing work for us

Yes, most people can analyze actions independently and assess accordingly. By critiquing things this way the CCFR gets better as a whole, where less than ideal things are called out, while receiving praise for the good work they do. Binary, or whole-justifies-the-parts, thinking is not pragmatic and can pigeon-hole organizations like the CCFR.

So we can expect the same level of disgust with other's in our circle for using AI for their ads?
I know I see a few other places (vendors) using AI.
Seems like a someone obvious attempt to attack Tracey and the CCFR.

False equivalence I think. If you're comparing vendors of an unspecified size and reach to the only notable firearm group in Canada responsible for concise and convincing messaging, I think you've missed the mark.

Seems like a someone obvious attempt to attack Tracey and the CCFR.

Its an obvious attack on AI slop, a repeating critique of the CCFR. It wasn't long ago they released a boomer friendly AI "rap" song that my non-firearm-owning dad loved...

Most of the comments in here go beyond what is appropriate for "AI slop".

Tracy is a good person who does massive amounts of work for the movement and people in the comments are willing to write her off about AI. She clearly doesn't understand its cringe. Its also not nearly the crime you all think it is, its boomer Facebook stuff, and unfortunately it will probably continue to advance and grow in use at the same rate it increases in quality.

Not sure what you mean by "go beyond" based on the comments I'm reading.

Tracy is a good person who does massive amounts of work for the movement

Yes, sure, I've never met her, but know she's always pulling for firearm owners in Canada.

people in the comments are willing to write her off about AI.

Again, "write her off" is a bit unclear, but besides the use of AI, it seems her other uses of social media are also being called into question.

She clearly doesn't understand its cringe

Hence the criticism.

Its also not nearly the crime you all think it is,

Your use of language is frustratingly unclear and hyperbolic.

its boomer Facebook stuff, and unfortunately it will probably continue to advance and grow in use at the same rate it increases in quality.

OK

Have you actually read the comments in this thread, they are as many that are critical of Tracey and attacking her as there are people criticizing her use of AI. One redditor made a comment about r@ping her.

u/weneedafuture Mar 27 '26

One redditor made a comment about r@ping her.

Where, can you link it? And is it upvoted? I'm sure you understand that Reddit, and the internet as a whole, has some very detestable people participating.

Does it matter if its up voted? And ya theres shitty people on the internet and reddit, so maybe we shouldn't make post attacking individuals when we could just send an email or leave a comment.

"Hey Tracy, I appreciate the work you do, but could you please stop using AI, its very cringe and delegitmizes the message. You might understand this but its really taboo. Thanks."

Seems a lot easier and more effective than starting a reddit thread so people can just dog pile on her and the CCFR.

Yeah, it does.

And ya theres shitty people on the internet and reddit, so maybe we shouldn't make post attacking individuals when we could just send an email or leave a comment

You're a sensitive sort aren't you?

Seems a lot easier and more effective than starting a reddit thread so people can just dog pile on her and the CCFR.

Hey, good on you for defending Tracey, I'm sure she appreciates it.

2

u/Remarkable_Vanilla34 Mar 27 '26

Ya I'm "sensitive" and I defend Tracy because she is on our team working for us.

Said the man complaining. Irony still lives.
