I think the criticism is that with using obvious AI slop the message itself tends to get a bit lost

If you focus on it lol I wasn’t even paying attention to the picture, the picture doesn’t matter

It does to the people that the message actually needs to win over, you're already on the same page as them

That seems like really dumb reasoning. “I have a chance to keep my rifle if I withdraw from the program, but the picture is AI, so nope”

Anyone who has a gun affected by the ban already wants to keep it, which is sort of the core of the problem with CCFR's messaging. Everything they post is aimed to appeal to people who already agree with them, which is great for pandering for donations but not so great for actually achieving their policy goals.

But this specific message is only supposed to be aimed at gun owners lol

Everything they post is only aimed at gun owners. You forget the time they took a bunch of donations to fund a tour around the country to... visit gun shops and solicit more donations?

The election? Hit up a bunch of liberal MP offices too. You also can’t really advocate when there’s a hostile government in power. The entire existence of the CCFR has been under liberal government, a lot easier for the government to fight against your messaging when they hate you. Wait for a friendly government to come in so they can actually do outreach without being lambasted

Weak excuse. The CCFR could try appealing to moderate non-gun-owners to develop some opposition to LPC policies, but they don't even do that, they just pander to people who already agree with them to get donations.

No political project has ever been successful without making allies out of undecided people.

There is a lot of opposition to the buyback going on now, they must be doing something

Only if you believe that the CCFR's messaging is responsible for that backlash, which is laughable
