It really grinds my gears when the grabbers wildly gesticulate to 'the rest of the world' when it comes to gun laws. There are shooting sports I can do across Western, Southern, and East-Central Europe that I can't do here because of the banhammer. There is PPE in some countries required by law that is considered ninja-assassin gear here.

Grabbers seem to grab at anything from misinformation, outright lies, delusions, and apparently the void, so long as it gets vomited back out as something 'for the cause'.

Its 100% because our southern neighbors have an estimated 100 000 people who are treated for gunshot wounds each year lol.

Uh i expected way more considering they’re kinda on the special-meter down there

12

u/JurboVolvo Jul 04 '26

Well you don’t treat those who didn’t survive so maybe that’s messing the numbers up 😂

Lol. They're on the special meter? DOWN THERE?! HAVE YOU LOOKED AROUND YOURSELF LATELY.

They should go to the countryside in Vietnam and try out the RPG7s

u/Weak-Coffee-8538 Jul 04 '26

Wish the gun control groups would put more energy and resources into mental health and addictions and poverty, as they do towards gun control .....

Backwards world I guess.

u/WeightedDips95 Jul 04 '26

That would force them to confront the fact their brain-dead left-wing utopianism or whatever the hell it even is causes all that.

u/StalkerRigo Jul 04 '26

they compare to the US all the time, but imitate california and forget that europe actually allows for all types of mags, suppressors, firearm brands, bores...

And yet one of the most iconic painting of the rebellions of the patriot is a french canadian holding a muzzleloader

13

u/Office_Responsible Jul 04 '26

Quebecers still think that’s all we should have. They aren’t smart.

34

u/julienjj Jul 04 '26

They had the very same guns the british millitary had !
BTW, Quebec has better stats than ontario for the buyback.

Don't mix us with the 50 people from montreal everyone dislike ad mare usque ad mare.

And let's not forget that the reliable liberal party voters in quebec are mostly in English speaking counties.

fundraise better than poly and maybe the gov will listen

Trust me, a lot of people don't think we should have those either.

I eventually gave up my range membership after moving to TO, but before that I mainly shot .22 and black powder. Apparently people thought I was going to do a drive-by with either a 10-22 or an 1851 Navy...

We should promote following the French model to keep Quebecors safe from American-style gun violence. It'll confuse them so much.

2

u/HappyCan7250 Jul 05 '26

Or maybe we just send Provost over to France, it would give her a new pet project and she could totally forget about canada? 2 birds with 1 stone.

Carney is dropping MPs like flies lately anyway.

u/Kooky-Hamster4071 Jul 04 '26

Have you ever wondered who really is behind this? I don't mean Poly, and I don't mean the Libs. Bigger than that. Who really wants Canadians to be disarmed and incapable of being a threat?

14

u/KaeseKraimer Jul 04 '26

Its the Montreal massacre club at it again. I have sympathy for the victims - of course- but the woke crowd stemming from this incident - are running the buyback and hence the nat gun program in general. Its gotta end. And yes Toronto is to blame too

Ontarian expat living in BC who married a québécoise.

First, people in Québec haven't identified with France since the 1760s, when the French sold them down the river to keep their sugar colonies in the carribean.

Second, Montréal is not Québec. Rural québécois and those around Québec City think very differently.

Third, I dont get why Québec always gets targeted here when the downtown Toronto crowd is just as bad, and just as vocal.

30

u/EnvironmentBright697 Jul 04 '26

Probably because the governments of Quebec and Montreal are both linked to the anti-gun efforts of both the coalition for gun control and Poly.

Yes gun control is a North American movement Québec is not so different than California or other US state gun Control effort.

Appreciate you reposting these, I missed them the first time around

Why isn't this sub talking more about this? Having a conversation about this legitimate conflict of interest/corruption will get us so much further ahead than an entire thread of name calling 🤷‍♂️

15

u/yummybunnybear Jul 04 '26

Just as vocal as la Nathalie? Just saying.

13

u/PrestigiousStatus711 Jul 04 '26

Quebec is targeted because they always elect anti gunners. Alberta and sask don't.

I’m First Nations I only speak English I’m a gun owner and I live in Quebec. I’m everything this province hates lol. I wear a hat that has my local ranges logo and I get dirty looks whenever I leave the reserve.

"Quebec"

13

u/Barbarian_818 Jul 04 '26

Quebec's been complaining about Canada's gun laws???

This is one of those "my brother in Christ, you're the reason many of those laws exist" moments.

People in this thread have no idea what the average Quebecers actually thinks or believes in. The amount of disconnection is unbelievable, the title of this thread just showcases it.

3

u/Different-Whole-3866 Jul 04 '26

Most of Quebec doesn't care btw. Our stupid leaders really think we do though.

2

u/Finance_Serious Jul 04 '26

Yeah the media and polysesouvient are basically feeding this artificial gun control movement

2

u/Last_Temperature_599 Jul 04 '26

What is the point you are trying to make? Except language French and Québécois have absolutely NOTHING in common. The gun control narrative in Quebec is a north American debate.

1

u/bulletride308 Jul 04 '26

And even language is not the same at all. Try to get them to understand you in Paris lol

1

u/Last_Temperature_599 Jul 04 '26

I've visited Belgium and France no issue at all that being said im from Montreal so my accent is not has thick has someone from New Brunswick or Saguenay

1

u/zervald Jul 05 '26

I'm a french-speaking Montrealer and gun-owner. Thing is, no party represent the gun-owner population here. Maybe le parti conservateur, but they never win bc even the most conservative boomer here will simply vote the parties TVA tells them it's ok to vote for.
