Apparently Go Tenda is opening a Calgary store! Yay and boo. Yay for a new store and boo for my wallet! If the job add location on Indeed is right, it'll be right beside Princess Auto south.
Looking forward to checking it out.

News / Politics / Activism LGR 2.0?
Does anyone else starting to get the sneaking suspicion that this entire buyback scheme is a $1 billion dollar embezzlement plan to get tax payer funds into their friends hands? The website cost over 1 million to make and is barely functional. They’ve spent 800 million plus and haven’t even collected guns yet. They spent 22 million on the retailer portion and apparently have if them weren’t even paid.
Yall think they’ll back out last minute only because they got their fill of the billion? 👀
Just a thought.

News / Politics / Activism Liberals Were Here
I could not share or comment on the original post. So here is the original post
There are two reasons the firearms were removed from the RCMP museum.
The current CEO is anti firearms and will not let any resemblance of firearms or anything about them in anything they offer.
They were too cheap to replace the glass and so based on current conservatory rules and law they can’t be placed in there anymore. TBH this display was the best part of the museum.

News / Politics / Activism The 67,000 firearms turned in for the “buy back”
There is unsurprisingly little discussion among gun owners who participated in the “buy back.” However I’m sure there are some basic questions we at least like to have a general idea on. Such as among the individual firearms declared, were the majority previously restricted and registered? Did some only participate to take advantage of certain firearms that were valued high? Did others see this as chance to get rid of their piece of crap gun they had just gathering dust? I believe an anonymous poll will help paint a picture of what that pool of declared 67,000 firearms look like.
Should have added an extra view option will update

News / Politics / Activism Declared ASFCP Firearms When Formatted For Guns Per 100,000 People
Please correct my math if I made any errors, and I will edit the post accordingly.
It's interesting to see which provinces have the culture that caved in the most.
Alberta
(7,334 ÷ 4,800,768) × 100,000 ≈ 152.8
British Columbia
(15,600 ÷ 5,646,467) × 100,000 ≈ 276.3
Manitoba
(2,442 ÷ 1,465,000) × 100,000 ≈ 166.7
New Brunswick
(1,150 ÷ 844,000) × 100,000 ≈ 136.3
Newfoundland and Labrador
(484 ÷ 545,000) × 100,000 ≈ 88.8
Northwest Territories
(81 ÷ 45,000) × 100,000 ≈ 180.0
Nova Scotia
(1,702 ÷ 1,079,000) × 100,000 ≈ 157.8
Nunavut
(9 ÷ 40,000) × 100,000 ≈ 22.5
Ontario
(27,487 ÷ 15,996,989) × 100,000 ≈ 171.8
Prince Edward Island
(170 ÷ 177,000) × 100,000 ≈ 96.0
Quebec
(9,801 ÷ 9,100,249) × 100,000 ≈ 107.7
Saskatchewan
(1,255 ÷ 1,240,000) × 100,000 ≈ 101.2
Yukon
(134 ÷ 47,000) × 100,000 ≈ 285.1

News / Politics / Activism Rash of Recent Police Actions Against Firearms/drugs/gangs
Is anyone else pissed off by all the recent news of police stopping firearm smuggling, illegal firearms, drug busts, etc.?
Liberals have been soft on crime for their entire modern existence, catch and release, embarrassingly short sentences, and so many other policies we've complained about for decades. Well now all of a sudden they're making busts left, right, and center.
After decades of campaigning on community safety, they know their asses are finally on the line and they have to produce objective data that shows their absolute farce of a "buyback" made even the smallest dent in gun crime.
So now they're going to do all the things we've begged them for for decades, cracking down on weapon smuggling. Then they're going to attribute that reduction in crime, (that anyone with 2 braincells to rub together has known the solution was curbing illegal firearms) to taking guns away from us "dangerous and unhinged" firearms owners. Then theyre going to use that data as the basis to take the next bite out of private firearm ownership.
They're going to manufacture the data they need, by taking the steps we all know needed to be done, only to blatantly and fraudulently misrepresent that data to attack us even further....
It's just so tiresome, and predictable... and the liberal voters of this country can't be trusted to look at anything with even a modicum of critical thought.

News / Politics / Activism Discussion: Canada’s handgun freeze policy and its impact on licensed owners
There’s been a lot of discussion lately around Canada’s handgun freeze and how it affects licensed owners.
I put together a short petition and info page asking for a formal review of the policy and its real-world impact, mainly focused on effectiveness and long-term outcomes.
It’s not meant as a political statement, more as a way to structure the discussion around whether the policy should be periodically reviewed.
👉 Petition (if anyone wants to take a look):
Lift the Handgun Freeze for Licensed Canadian Firearms Owners

News / Politics / Activism Making Ready for Use
Probably not perfect flair but recent news tweaked my curiosity.
How long does a typical law-abiding owner take to make their weapon ready for use?
Or in other words, your weapon and ammunition are properly stored. You hear a noise or see something that makes you suspicious. How long does it take you to get to your gun safe, open it, and then assemble and load the firearm?
How much does that vary between your pistol, rifle, and shotgun?

News / Politics / Activism Trump's new crazy 50% tax and imports
Does anyone know if Trump's new tax is going to affect the final price of the Mikasi if I put a deposit on it already on the basis of the listed price? I definitely can't justify more than the listed price. Kinda worried here.
Edit: In response to all the, 'learn how tariffs work' responses...it's quite possible/likely that retaliatory tariffs will be put on American goods and I wonder if that will affect the price of the Mikasi. Do stores have to honour the original posted price? Do they have to give back the deposit if they can't honour the original price due to counter tariffs?
Who knows when these will be finally imported and it looks like an intense trade war is possible over the next few months.
