News / Politics / Activism Perhaps we can do the same thing with banned guns on October 30?

is there any way we can do a mass demonstration or protest

Would be filled with false flag government agents waving swastikas , so the news could run a story on how all gun owners are Nazis.

There’s a way to combat that.
Don’t let the organizers be infamous for using nazi talking points or hanging out & organizing with openly (or covertly) nazi groups.

Then actually remove & ostracize anyone who even wants to peep out nazi BS. Kick out commenters on social media posts spreading proto/neo-nazi rhetoric.
(I can think of more than a few gun-rights themed social media accounts who would be taken a lot more seriously if they cleaned up their post’s replies)
It worked pretty well from 1939-2016 in music scenes, hobby organizations, bars, and even non-far-right reactionary political parties. Never understood why people got lazy about that over the last decade, but that’s how we used to mostly successfully denazify the scene, movement, country.

Your comment kinda shift the goalposts from "none at all is acceptable to "very prevalent"...

What is "very prevalent" to you? Cuz i know a lot of fun people in town. Clowns all around bud. Watch out. Or maybe you already know that?

Buddy, we're on the same side here. I didn't espouse any generalizing beliefs, and I'm not pushing any here. The issue at hand, as you note, is indeed optics. My point is that hand-waving away a problem, however small, does not really work in our favour.

Furthermore, this is a game of politics. Let's pretend i was some asshole who was swayed by the deceitful proposition you outline, telling me that I'm wrong and that there's no problem is a harder sell if i had previously caught some sort of wind of malfeasance. You catch my drift here?

We're on the same side. As soon as we start using low-grade rhetoric that only appeals to us, we're fucking cooked

I dunno, looking at CGN the “fringe” doesn’t seem very fringe. There are no shortage of reprehensible people on there and that’s the most prominent Canadian gun forum. Racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, conspiracy theories you name it.

But that sounds haarrrdddddddddd :(((( /s

For real, don’t want Nazis at your protest? Kick them the fuck out. They’re fucking Nazis for fuck sake.

Doubt it. Canadians are too passive. As long as they can what sports and eat food they will let the government do anything

Unfortunately true. It’s really just sad, tbh tho I think as economic conditions worsen people are more likely to organize. I’m a uni student and I saw this big time with the OSAP cuts, in fact I actually used the opportunity to educate some people on the gun confiscation issues in this country. A surprising amount of people are on our side, it’s the same struggle, an out of touch over controlling government/elite that is messing with the people.

I once pondered what if everyone was to wear a holster fora day (no gun) people would freak out

Or carry nerf blasters and super soakers whilst wearing full tactical gear in front of parliament. Absurdist protests work best

Based af. Imagine trying to disarm one of the founding US states of the union. I hope US supreme court overturns that shit ASAP.

2

u/Imaginary-Text4690 Mar 19 '26

They will, not asap but it’s not legal

u/Sto_Imparando Mar 15 '26

Pretty sure this may have been legal pre bill c-21 in 2023 but now I am almost certain it is not legal. You need a pal to buy magazines now and previously you did not. Not sure where possession falls under that but I would assume it's the same unless anyone else knows better?

34

u/Goliad1990 Mar 15 '26

Possession of magazines and ammunition without a license is not illegal, but acquisition is. So if you had magazines without a PAL prior to 2024 (for whatever reason), you can keep them. You just can't get any more, by purchase or otherwise.

Just get everyone to show a pal before you hand over the mag; not really a big problem

8

u/rastamasta45 Mar 15 '26

We really need to do a rally in front of queens park in Ontario!

u/Next-Swimming-4270 Mar 15 '26

Just give them away to random people on the street? Pretty sure you need a PAL to own mags now in Canada, so if you distribute prohibs/mags you will likely end up in jail. Plus, Canadians are pretty brainwashed ... we are just striving to be "not USA"

22

u/The_King_of_Canada mb Mar 15 '26

You see a clip about a man handing out mags in public to protest of a magazine capacity law and the point you come up with is that we are the ones that are brainwashed?

27

u/dgod40 Mar 15 '26

The meant "non gun owners" are brainwashed. You could give the average Canadian a 50 page thesis on why firearm ownership in Canada is a good thing and they will just turn around and say "nah ah we don't want to become the US"

I think sometimes people here are so heated about this issue, they argue amongst each other even though they are on the same side.

4

u/cumbrad Mar 15 '26

That’s so based. Handing out mags, I mean. Not being brainwashed. But yes, anyone who is up in arms (lol) about a guy handing out 30 round mags- inanimate objects that are not even weapons in their own right- in public is not someone who should be taken seriously and I would agree with the sentiment that they’re brainwashed.
