Ah yes, daily dose of propaganda to show legal gun owners as the enemy

I didn't even have to use my AK

As the great warrior-poet Ice Cube once said, "If the day does not require an AK, it is good."

"at least my mom took me to NASCAR"

Let’s be nicer to each other and our neighbours.

Let’s fuck over gun owners, remove their property because they like their hobbies and we are scared of those people. WTF.

It’s bigger than this, there’s a big push in the background to disarm Canadians, likely because the government is looking long term to implement things that they risk creating anger in the general population

No.... that couldnt be it..... they'd never do such a thing. 🫩😬 What I get a kick out of is on one hand its elbows up we will defend this country from the evil americans, manifest destinty and scary maga. On the other its lets disarm, disenfranchise, disgust the demographic most capable and willing to defend this country.

Some fun facts from the video:

  • These guns are not suitable for hunting

  • Grandfathered AKs are floating around

  • A massive gang shootout happens in Toronto involving unlicensed criminals using smuggled US firearms...so the obvious solution is to confiscate property from vetted, law-abiding PAL holders.

  • These guns are used in school shootings, banning them will prevent them from being used in school shootings because we say so

  • Legally owned handguns are "frequently diverted to illegal markets" despite police forces openly admitting that the vast majority of crime guns are black market imports smuggled across the border.

Seems like the goal is to frame highly regulated, background checked (daily) citizens as the main threat to public safety. Good on the host for asking questions and pushing the failure angle but too bad he wasn't ready with actual statistics and facts to call out the obvious BS.

Ugh I watched this when it aired. Just awful! The only reason I give TVO a pass on this is because they had our side on a couple months ago and didn’t push the governments narrative on the guests. They ask questions and listened to what they had to say.

This is where I land on it. The TVO host asked his questions and got answers. He wasn't adding any editorial spin, just handling who he had on air.

I'll have to watch their counterpart video, didn't know they had done that.

I watched this and was absolutely unimpressed by the entire production. They had one buricrat giving obviously vague replies that frame things as 'getting any firearm out of the publics hands is a good thing but the real issues are elsewhere and I just can't come out and drive that point home for reasons of optics' and the other person an obviously well spoken absolute anti gun crusader full of notions that every person with a firearm is an atrocity waiting to happen.

There was no person from the firearms community. God forbid a 'NEWS' program would allow open dialog between the two opposing sides in this country. Can't do that because the anti gunners would be made to look the fools they tend to be. The guy asking questions didn't even have a remote clue as to how many firearms are wrapped up in this debacle and seemed to have no clue that most are unrestricted. He didn't really push on anything, just kind of threw it out there and forgot about it.

It's also funny and telling when she uses possible political violence as another reason to disarm people. Sounds kinda totalitarian to me.

On a side note, I really don't think we need governments trying to protect me from myself. That bs about using suicides as a reason to ban firearms. Governments need to protect me from you and you from me. It's so sad to constantly see the push for more power over the people all In an effort to 'protect them from themselves '. To be clear, suicide is tragic and we need mental health supports but it's no excuse for collective punishment.

TVO also interviewed our side as well earlier this year.

They're basically impossible in canada.

Common in the US tho.

8

u/sl33plessnites May 15 '26

Yeah that part about the handguns.. like I'm sure people are diverting handguns registered to them and their name to criminals.. what a bunch of bullshit.

3

u/julienjj May 16 '26

Yup. Failling to report the restricted theft is a pretty solid offense on it's own.

Pretty sure if you get a few stollen quickly they're almost guarantee to hit you with improper storage infractions... then bye bye rpal.

2

u/sl33plessnites May 16 '26

Right ? I suspect this is virtual zero or extremely rare. The only circumstance I could see is theft of firearms where a legal handgun ends up on the streets.

u/hockeyfanatic777 May 15 '26

I haven’t watched the video, but just as a fun fact…

If a firearm that is an NR gets lost/stolen you must report it.

However, you DON’T need to report it if you destroyed it yourself, such as it got rusty and useless, it had a failure, etc. you are allowed to destroy and dispose of it without needing to tell anyone.

If your NR then became prohib, you don’t have to report it as long as you destroyed and disposed of it PRIOR to its reclassification. If it’s still intact after reclassification, then this information doesn’t apply.

I am fairly certain this is accurate information, and if I am wrong I would love to be corrected as I don’t want to say something inaccurate. I will edit or delete this if found to be inaccurate

At this point who gives a fuck? Just keep your business your own.

As soon as the “expert” from Ryerson University (fuck Toronto Metropolitan University) was announced I turned it off.

5

u/poruchik_r May 15 '26

I tried to watch it . Even with double speed it was too slow. Couldn’t last more than 5 minutes-there is only limited amount of bullshit I can take at once.

They are safe at my home in my safe.

I heard of another person killed by a vehicle the other day.

What are we at now for fatalities with motor vehicles in the second quarter of 2026?

Around 1900 people died from motor vehicle crashes in 2025.

And An estimated 24,000 to 28,000 people die each year in Canada due to preventable medical errors and adverse events, making it the third-leading cause of death in the country behind cancer and heart disease.

These individuals need to focus on more important issues.

Gathering dust in the back of the safe praying one day they can get used again

“Shows in thumbnail firearms that were never legal”

2

u/Ok-Yogurt-42 May 16 '26

I like how my perfectly polite comment giving some pushback from 3 days ago isn't being shown.

2

u/KorporalKarnage May 16 '26

Sorry, I turned it off at the 2min mark. As soon as I saw the "panel" I knew it was going to be shit.

That, and looking at the sea hag makes me want to literally throw up my last meal.

i only own bolt action hunting rifles. i don’t own any hand guns or semi autos. i don’t own any assault firearms. If you can’t make your kill with one shot, then don’t hunt. As for target shooting, um you don’t need any skill to spray and pray. you do need skill to shoot accurately at distance. I support the removal of any firearm that isn’t for competition precision shooting or hunting. There is no purpose for any firearm that is not used for one of those two purposes.

i served on a combat tour many years ago, i am ex artillery. yes i got to shoot many different guns, 25mm cannon, c6, c9, c7, 9mm, carl gustav, m72, mortars, 105mm, 155mm. for many years after my service i wouldn’t own a gun. i hunt, i target shooting with my sons as they are now older. I fully support the removal of any firearm that has no practical purpose. I know my rifles will never be taken away. and if they do, then so be it. i don’t really need them anyway. That is how a real responsible gun owner thinks. i don’t own guns because i think they’re cool and want to play with them. unlike the many morons here do!!! and have a nice day.
