Buy recommendations Did I understand our laws correctly or am I about to do something stupid?

From what I understand, cutting a cannon on a rifle is illegal under 18 inches. But you can buy a rifle with a cannon under 18 inches if it’s made that way. Cutting a stock is also illegal if the total length falls under 26 inches. I plan to buy a heritage roughrider with a 16 inch cannon and 32inch overall length, so here’s my questions:

1- Can I trim the stock on the red line as long as I respect the 26 inches rule?

2- Is there an official way to measure a rifle from a precise point to another? Or is the rifle considered legal if you lay it down on a tape and it touches the 0 and 26 no matter the part or the angle of the gun?

3- Can I make a custom holster and shoot that bad boy with one hand like a regular revolver?

4- At what point does a rifle become a pistol to the eye of the law?

Misc .44 Russian vs .44 Henry Centrefire

I have an antique Brazilian Nagant Revolver, almost literally from Forgotten Weapons lol. It is originally chambered in .44 Henry Centrefire, my question is would it be ok to use .44 Russian? Would it have to be reamed like a Reich's revolver or is there something I'm missing as to why that wouldn't work? I've tried reading up on the differences between the cartridges but end up getting spun around. Alternatively I could get someone custom reload for me (I'd love to reload myself but am short on physical space and time currently), but if .44 Russian will work I'd rather go with the relatively cheaper, available option.TIA

Anyone have any experience with it? Came across my Facebook feed and my only negative feeling is that it’s not a DBM (or semi auto but that’s another issue) but it’s still a cool concept.

Yay or nay? $499 CT.

I forgot to add some context here.

I’m planning to put at least five in there:

  1. Kel-Tec KSG12 with a red dot
  2. Adler 224 with a red dot
  3. Renegade with a Vortex Venom
  4. Mossberg 590R
  5. TBD

Software engineer here with ~15 years experience. I've always wanted an offline/local only version of an app to track my disgusting habit and decided to go ahead and work with AI to create something on the weekend.

Is this something people would use if I published it?

My whole shtick is free, so I'd never charge for something like this since it's running all on your own machine.

News / Politics / Activism Busniess assault style compensation program nightmare.

Story time everyone

So I work for a firearms Busniess is ontario.

Today i tried to submit some of the firearms that are currently prohibited under this ridiculous farce of a program.

Not only does the website not work. When I tried calling the person on the phone was no help what so ever.

The website won't let me start a claim and when I go to add the busniess info. The system just keeps on error in put saying that there is missing info.

Finally got annoyed and tried calling into the program for assistance. The person on the phone gave me the run around for 20mins. Asking me the same question repeatedly then placed me on hold. Told her that I am representing the company and kept asking for the owner to verify info. Informed her that I can provide her any information that she may need and still insisted she needs the owner on the phone.

How does this program expect anyone to cooperate baffles me when they make it nearly impossible to use.

Thank god I didnt participate in the individual buy back.

Buy recommendations Swiss k31

Good evening my fellow shooters. I've been going down a rabbit hole of looking up old milsurp rifles and the consensus is the Swiss k31 is the best out of the ones I was looking at, mosin was another but from what I saw on posts and reviews the k31 is just better overall. So my question is wheres a good place to pick up one from ? I saw a few sites here in canada that are selling them. The prices range from 699-1200. Im assuming the price range is because of the overall grade of the rifle etc. Should there be anything to watch out for in terms of grade?. Like Rack Grade seems to be decent enough. Anyway thanks for reading and any help I get !

Context:

Following this DYPA12 for a while, anticipating for when it came out. I was in the starbies drive through when I got the email notification. Purchased right away.

Took 3 days to get here.

Pros:
Small
Sights are decent.
Very good knock off glock mags.
Accuracy not bad.

The bad.

Mag springs super tight. ( will get better with age )
My buttock tube came loose.
Odd to pump a 9mm, ( I was over pumping it thinking it was a 12g )

And now why you are really here……

The pics 🙂

Application / Regulation advice Are combo .22LR/.22WMR revolvers eligible for exempted handguns per the Olympic sports exemptions? (BC)

So I actually managed to get my first handgun exemption for sport shooting and picked up a Ruger MK4 (awesome!). But I was curious too about picking up a .22 revolver to compete as well. One that I found that seems suitable is the Taurus 992, which is a revolver that comes default with both a .22LR cylinder and a .22WMR cylinder. Are revolvers in .22 allowed as exempted .22 sports shooting firearms? Would there be a problem since it comes with a .22WMR cylinder as well? Cheers everyone!

Trying to identify this single 12. It is stamped MADE IN USA and has larger letters U S in sort of a figure 8. Other than a serial number starting with U on it I can't find any other markings.

Buy recommendations New Winnipeg Princess Auto ammo/gun selection?

Anyone from Winnipeg, MB been the new princess auto store?

What selection did they have for ammo, guns and reloading supplies?

Thanks

Edit: They sell federal, Hornady and Remington winchester ammo. Some bulk ammo in .223. Prices are either slightly above or slightly lower when compared to other stores like Canadian tire etc, depends on calibre.

They sell some reloading stuff, projectiles and brass. No primers or powder.

Slightly disappointed overall imo

Misc Paint Drip/Webbing Pattern

Thumbnail

Anyone taken on the task of doing a DIY drip/webbing pattern that some manufacturers offer on their rifles? The pictures are a few examples of what I’m referring to and what I’d like to do, but I’m wondering if there’s a specific paint they use and if there’s a certain technique they use to pour/drip the paint during the application. I’m sure it’ll come down to trial and error but hopefully someone has some insight!

Shitpost / Memes IWI Carmel Appreciation Post

Post image
3 Upvotes

Howdy Folks,

The Texan is back with yet ANOTHER Gun Appreciation post, this time I have a bit of an old one that I made, but due to recent news about this gun, I had to share it with y’all!

The one and only:

IWI Carmel!

Coming Soon to the Canadian Gun Market!

If you are considering buying one, I have experience handling one, not shooting it unfortunately, but just handling one. I can still give my 2 cents about it, and why you don’t really hear about it much from us here in the states.

Holding it is actually not terrible, at first it feels like you are holding a brick… UNTIL!

You look at the stock, it folds to the side, but also has an integrated cheek riser. And the Length of Pull is adjustable as well.

Controls are fairly simple, it’s very similar to an ACR XCR in terms of being ambidextrous, and if you have experience with an AR-15 platform (or the C7/C8 if you were in the CAF), it’s fairly easy to get used to since it has very similar controls.

But what’s the actual selling point of it? And why is it not more popular in the US Civilian Market, and why would it benefit the Canadian market more?

Good question!

  1. The Major Selling point is the adjustable gas block, and because it uses a more AR-180 style of it, it’s more saturated for that niche, and it’s why you often see some people running these suppressed, it is mainly bought as the suppressor host gun.

  2. The reason why it’s not more popular in the US Civilian Market is because the market mainly likes to focus on the AR-15 platform, and it’s very difficult to advertise the rifle. AR-180 variants are a bit of a difficult sell here because again, the saturation of the US market is more catered to the AR-15 as it is more of a universal platform that is easier to work with, and is easier to get the parts for.

  3. As to how it would benefit the Canadian gun market, y’all have a bit more experiences with AR-180 platforms, and the market pool is much larger for them. I know some are restricted, but not all, still though, it is worth noting the saturation of the AR-180 market in Canada. It’s a lot better in the Canadian market.

Anyways, thanks for tuning in!

Enjoy!

Fix my gun Derya TM22 screw

I got the new Derya TM22 pro and after the first cleaning the middle top screw is very loose and doesn’t go all the way in.

It was pretty firm first time I opened it and now it is very loose. Should I change the screw or anything else?
