Buy recommendations New Winnipeg Princess Auto ammo/gun selection?

Anyone from Winnipeg, MB been the new princess auto store?

What selection did they have for ammo, guns and reloading supplies?

Thanks

Edit: They sell federal, Hornady and Remington winchester ammo. Some bulk ammo in .223. Prices are either slightly above or slightly lower when compared to other stores like Canadian tire etc, depends on calibre.

They sell some reloading stuff, projectiles and brass. No primers or powder.

Slightly disappointed overall imo

As a resident of Ontario, this post made me sad. I didn't even know Princess carried firearm stuff. They have BB gun stuff here thats about it.

And in Quebec??

And they hide the BB guns in the back!

This made me chuckle. We don’t have any real firearms stuff at my LPA but they have the bb pistols on a rack that is literally the last thing you walk by in the queue before you get to a cashier.

Lol ours just has a printout of the BB guns. You have to ask the staff to bring them out.

Back when they only had the one location, they did. Finally, a return to form.

Radio ads said they are selling archery equipment and have an archery range. Haven’t heard anything about rifles other than air guns. Apparently the entire store is licensed and you can have a beer while you shop. Currently working out of town so I can’t go and see myself

Do NOT give me a beer while I'm in PA, I'm already loose with the wallet in there

They list ammo on the website

Holy shit, hardware store shopping beer might be the best thing since sliced bread.

I'd be down to buy some Powerfist 22LR and ProPoint 223. Lol

IDK but I noticed today before you mentionned it that they started to stock ammo on the website and says PAL needed.

I wonder if it's surplus from another store or what.

1

u/Aggressive-Many997 Jun 03 '26

Not surplus

3

u/vcarriere Jun 03 '26

Didn't mean surplus as in surplus ammo but more as like PA could have bought a closing gun business inventory. It's happening quite a bit lately.

Peavey mart if anything, I doubt it though

They have an ammo dispenser in the new store. There's a whole list of ammo types they sell on the wall and a terminal for access. Punch in what you want on the PC terminal and the machine rotates (like a Ferris wheel kind of) to the shelf it's on and the window opens for you to grab it.

Unsure if it's self serve or staff operated.

They have 12 gauge ammo on the shelf.

No firearms for now but they seem to be going all in on bow hunting.

It's pretty crazy in there right now so I didn't look too hard.

No guns as they don’t have a license but just BB guns ammo and lots of archery stuff

I’ve only seen pellet guns online but I have not been in person. I doubt they have anything let alone anything of any substance

H tall man just launched their new store as a flagship in Winnipeg. Planned for every major city in the province is the rumor I hear from Winnipeg

As for ammo it's all on their website now. Prices are pretty good, better than cabelas. If you're in Winnipeg it's a pretty easy system, shows all their selection on a digital screen and then a rotating conveyor pulls it up.

No guns at the moment but tons of ammo selection plus archery and crossbow stuff.

Edit: forgot to mention they carry brass too which I was pleasantly surprised by

Princess Auto has firearms outside of Onterrible?

New "flag ship" store as the company is from Winnipeg. It will probably roll out in onterrible very soon

2

u/RealTurbulentMoose Jun 02 '26

The rest of us have much to learn from you friendly Manitobans.

2

u/Barbarian_818 Jun 03 '26

I didn't think they were from Winnipeg. My nearest PA is actually on Princess St in Kingston so I always assumed that was the first location and source of the name.

5

u/illknowitwhenireddit Jun 03 '26

The source of the name was the first location, on princess Street in Winnipeg.

1

u/Hellfrozeover666 Jun 03 '26

Well you know what they say about assumptions lol. PA started in Wpg. You’re just wrong.

princess auto is going to be the new better canadian tire

0

u/No-Night-48 Jun 03 '26

PA stopped that years ago.

They are in Winnipeg, will eventually rock out to every store. They are selling fire arms as well

5

u/vcarriere Jun 03 '26

They added a bunch of ammo to their website, I discovered that today when looking at new stuff.

7

u/FenderFanatic Jun 02 '26

Why not? Canadian Tire and Co-op do.

5

u/holden_hiscox Jun 03 '26

And Home Hardware!

1

u/Scary-Detail-3206 Jun 03 '26

I was just in a little mom and pop grocery store in Quesnel BC, they had a gun counter at the back with a decent selection of ammo.

2

u/Own-Pause-5294 Jun 02 '26

Co op?

4

u/FenderFanatic Jun 03 '26

Yeah. Not at all Co-op stores but I've seen Co-op ag centers and other centers that have guns, ammo, and reloading supplies.

2

u/New_Patience_8938 Jun 03 '26

UFA in alberta also carries ammo on the shelf

1

u/DougMacRay617 Jun 03 '26

PA doesn't hold nearly the market share that canadian tire does, not to mention most canadian tires cant even stock their pro shops well

2

u/FenderFanatic Jun 03 '26

Maybe it varies by location. I've seen Canadian Tires that aren't far behind my closest Cabella's.

4

u/DougMacRay617 Jun 03 '26

Yeah i live near the largest Canadian tire in the country, their pro shop is great. There is another one in the city that has the bare minimum. No guns , just some hodge podge ammo. It definitely varies by location. And canadian tire is dealer owned franchises. Meaning its up to the discretion of the owner to choose how stocked their pro shop will be.

1

u/julienjj Jun 03 '26

Sail too !

3

u/roguemenace Jun 03 '26

The new flagship store is trying to compete with Cabela's. It's a fucking huge store.

1

u/dwdawg666 Jun 07 '26

100,000 sq ft

0

u/horce-force Jun 03 '26

there is a way, and its called "stocking live ammo and firearms." Head down to the store on Panet and look for yourself
