Story time everyone
So I work for a firearms Busniess is ontario.
Today i tried to submit some of the firearms that are currently prohibited under this ridiculous farce of a program.
Not only does the website not work. When I tried calling the person on the phone was no help what so ever.
The website won't let me start a claim and when I go to add the busniess info. The system just keeps on error in put saying that there is missing info.
Finally got annoyed and tried calling into the program for assistance. The person on the phone gave me the run around for 20mins. Asking me the same question repeatedly then placed me on hold. Told her that I am representing the company and kept asking for the owner to verify info. Informed her that I can provide her any information that she may need and still insisted she needs the owner on the phone.
How does this program expect anyone to cooperate baffles me when they make it nearly impossible to use.
Thank god I didnt participate in the individual buy back.

I think this is because it was never meant to work or seek cooperation. It’s just political smoke and mirrors to get votes. The more we criticize (rightfully so), the more they can argue we’re just crying children. Unlike Natalie, I don’t think Carney or Justin were true anti-gunners, but they aren’t against using issues to their advantage to gain support in and out of parliament. Either way it’s scummy.

They’re like PETA, they’ll never be satisfied regardless of the laws in place.
Advocacy groups are a double edged sword to democracy. Some bring attention and change to genuine issues, while others are just dogmatic ideologues who will stop at nothing to impose their world on you.

Call your local news outlet. If you can convince them to run something on how disastrously bad even the website is that'd be great.
We need to keep drawing attention to it and you're in a strong position to do so.

I gotta get into this business of designing apps and websites for government agencies. Quite the racket apparently. One contract and you're basically set for life it seems.
Although sadly since I'm not a LPC donor or buddies with an LPC MP, I probably wouldn't get the contract anyway.
Maybe the government could just start using AI to design their websites. Or use one of those cheap website design template programs and make their website for like $50. Gotta funnel money to LPC & Friends somehow though I guess.

Based on this post, and the stories surrounding ArriveCan, it seems like coding experience isn’t really necessary for winning government contracts to build apps.

The program was designed to screw over ad many gun owners and gun businesses as possible to send a message to gun culture in Canada. The Canadian government hates Canadians and hates traditional Canadian values. This is the new “elbows up” Canada, where god is the LPC and they know what’s best for us.

They don't. It's about easy numbers. Even with the low percentage of compliance they're able to claim tens of thousands of firearms "off the streets", better numbers than they can get going after actual criminals. I'm sure the unfortunate side-effect of only harming political opponents is a total coincidence.
Tinfoil hat moment; PAL holders are a small percentage of the population and the right to bear arms isn't firmly established. Gun owners are an easy target to set a precedent for the erosion of property rights and confiscation without compensation. We are marching towards authoritarianism and I have no faith in the Supreme Court to act as a check on power.

Similar concept with C0v1d close contacts. You got a letter in the mail that you were exposed to someone... 2 weeks later. If they really care it would have been sent registered mail same day.
