Crypto was prohibited under PFR, Part 1, para. 87 - Meaning the RCMP has the opinion it is a variant of an AR15 or M4 pattern firearm.
On May 1, 2020, the Government of Canada prohibited the upper and lower receivers of M16, AR-10, AR-15 and M4 pattern firearms...
...meaning the Crypto upper is prohibited part.

The crazy part of the Gunposter's argument is that Valmets are hella expensive even in the states. So it's not even an issue of what's in Canada. Valmets are just in a league of their own.

I remember a while back selling the only Ruger American Ranch available on GP at the time. I still sold it for exactly what I paid for it, when other guys were trying to sell them for $1200+, good rifle but wanted a new long barreled 223 and already had 2 other 16" AR mag 223s.

Exactly...so weird these people are so worked up about it. I can see if someone buys 10 NR versions when they come in and then tries this, but there really aren't a lot of these in Canada so it is actually a rare item. That being said, irungunz is offering imports of the restricted starting in July for 1800 USD.

This would be a “grey market” gun imported via Irunguns rather than by the distributor or dealer network of the guns coming during the summer.
