Gun and gear reviews Taylor arms 9mm TC73
Anyone have any experience with it? Came across my Facebook feed and my only negative feeling is that it’s not a DBM (or semi auto but that’s another issue) but it’s still a cool concept.

Inrangetv made a review of it, he was not very impressed with the rifle.

That's an understatement, I'd say he's legitimately upset at the poor quality fit and finish. Rightly so too, it's bad to the point of being dangerous

Can you explain why?

It's because he's a progressive, who is completely unaware that liberalism and progressivism are not the same thing.
He should know better, especially considering he styles himself as an iconoclast. Satanists are "the Man" now.

Because he believes in 2A for All? Because he doesn't gloss over the massacres and horrors inflicted by the US government or the settlers? News flash - every guntuber injects their politics into their work. Classic Firearms had Vivek Ramaswamy on their coverage of shot show, hickock45 had Tucker Carlson in his videos, but those are A-OK, not political. Half of the guntubers out there make "attack helicopter"-esque jokes on the regular.
Seems that it only ever happens to be "political" when its someone espousing anything supportive of minorities

Ah yes, the enlightened centrist, so above politics. I bow to your wisdom, and shall proceed to self-flagellate until I achieve that same level of being. Namaste

How come? All I know about him is that he used to work with Ian from Forgotten Weapons.

There's also a pump action 9mm black rifle coming soon, and it's NR.

Also of note on this besides the Karl review, it doesn't seem his is an isolated case, on the r/leverguns subreddit I've seen some similar horror stories prior to his video release. They seem like a pretty lazily made gun all around which is too bad, they definitely have some novelty.

No experience with it but I think it’s probably great. From what I understand Uberti makes “to spec” reproductions but then companies like Taylors & Cimarron commission products from them but smooth everything out. Fwiw I’ve owned Ubertis and they never had issues.
I’m always a bit worried about rimless cartridges in firearms not originally designed for them, but it is 2026 so I’m sure they’ve worked out any kinks.
Keep your chamber clean and I bet it will function flawlessly, probably holds a good amount in the magazine too. Btw, 1873 pattern rifles are super cool, like an OG ar with a dust cover and everything!

It is expensive but it is going to be better than the dypa 9mm pump in terms of fit and finish

I'd reconsider that idea, check the InRangeTV video on it and the problems he had

I was wrong lol I have held the derya before and it was very wiggly and did not feel like it would last for a long time but i guess this is worse

Right?? I have a feeling cheapo Turkish pump might end up being the far superior gun

u/TheBulletBuddy Jun 03 '26
honestly, ive been impressed with my TM22 pro so im tempted to give the pump action a try, i mean its Turk, so its a gamble either way, but the TM22 has treated me well for 2.5k rounds so far, hopefully this will similar.

I feel I hear good things about derya, and not too much negative. So I'll probably give them a roll if the dice too

So Karl at inrangeTV did a review on the gun and there were a lot of bad things to say about it from the quality to fit and finish. I included a link down below. Personally I was interested till I saw the video personally you’re probably better off getting a 357/38 lever gun instead.
