Feets / Collection / My build I jumped on it and got it
Context:
Following this DYPA12 for a while, anticipating for when it came out. I was in the starbies drive through when I got the email notification. Purchased right away.
Took 3 days to get here.
Pros:
Small
Sights are decent.
Very good knock off glock mags.
Accuracy not bad.
The bad.
Mag springs super tight. ( will get better with age )
My buttock tube came loose.
Odd to pump a 9mm, ( I was over pumping it thinking it was a 12g )
And now why you are really here……

I picked one up the day it came into my local shop. Put a red-dot on it and I've been having a lot of fun with it.
I let a couple staff at the range try it out and it convinced them too lol

Whats the brake down for cleaning like? Hows the pump and trigger feel? Heavily thinking of getting one

Breakdown isnt terrible. The pump is a bit stiff, but that's because there's no action release. Trigger feels good too imo.
Recommend highly. Keeping the 9mm PCC's alive in this country

Genuine question, why not just a Homesteader? It's too bad Midwest industries discontinued their aluminum handguard and stock for it. Still got Tommy Enterprises stuff though to make it look pretty cool, although I would prefer aluminum parts.
Genuinely curious, and by all means, if you just wanted it, that is a very valid reason. I personally just don't see a need to buy one myself with a homesteader already.
It's sort of too bad they didn't go for proprietary mags, like what the Canuck Recon did, which allows it to take 30rd drum mags because of the manual action. I think the Glock mags are a bit of a drawback. If it used something proprietary where you could get over 10rd capacity that would have been neat.
Either way, congrats, they are neat little rifles and hopefully more people buying 9mm will continue to keep it cheap in Canada. One of the cheapest calibers to still shoot these days thankfully.

I looked at a homesteader, but the derya was about $500-ish cheaper and I felt the homesteader was a bit bulky.
Plus I like more manual action firearms over semi-auto so it was a win-win for me.

Agreed with the manual action. That plus the shortie barrel means I'll be grabbing thus over the homesteader too. Now just gotta decide whether to get the Tommy gun looking one, or the pistol grip one....

the homesteader is a bit heavy for a PCC, its long, and the tang safety means that if you decide to put a rifle stock on you'd have to break your grip to take the gun on/off safe, which may be a deal breaker for some people.

Fair enough reasoning. It's unfortunately our only option these days, but this 9mm pump does seem fun. Was just curious why someone would pick it over the semi, but those are valid reasons.

The homesteader is on my list too, I just like the idea of a short barrel PCC of some sort haha.

Thanks for the info, how does the buffer tube attach to the receiver? Looks like theres no castle nut, is it just a set screw?

124 grain at 30-50 feet is all I've had the chance to so far. Put 150 rounds through it so far and not a single issue.

Thanks. I was looking at ammo online and mostly saw 115 grain and was wondering if that would cycle ok. Good to hear that yours runs good. Thanks.

I was deciding between this and Homesteader as well. I didn't like how the Homesteader looked, how bulky it is and how long the barrel is, and I shot it a few times and I unfortunately had a few jams. I ended up going with the Derya. I received this exact gun as OP; it's very small, compact, light, short. I haven't shot it yet though.

The only reason I haven’t jumped on a homesteader myself is I’m worried it’s gonna get axed. I’m too young and poor to just straight up lose out on $1500 if they decide to ban it lol

How’s the grip to trigger feel? As people have mentioned it looks like trigger is far ahead of grip but how’s it feel? I fricken want one lol

Generally buffer (buttock) tubes are held in place with a castle nut. That doesn't seem to be the case here. What prevents the tube from unthreading, a set screw perhaps?

Kinda want one since I have 9mm ammo lying around that I want to get rid of. Homesteader is a bit much for what it's worth imo but this is a pump action 😐

Homesteader is actually an awesome rifle. I have probably close to 1k rounds through mine and I don't think I've really had any failures, maybe 1 failure to eject. The mag adapter did start walking out the pins at one point but I fixed they fairly easily. Super reliable rifle and can be kitted out to look pretty cool with 3D printer gear, or if you can find the Midwest industries aluminum furniture. They're great guns honestly and Henry has always sent me replacement parts for free, shipped from the US with no charge or questions asked, when needed for various guns over the years. Great company
