Had an NP22 kicking around that I rarely shot. Since the transfer ban has ruined any chance of me picking up anything new, I figured I'd play dress up a bit with it.

Original pistol is an NP22. Parts include a Sig Pro-Cut slide, Trijicon RMR HD, E2 Grip with updated mainspring, short reset trigger kit, Gray Guns adjustable flat face trigger, Sig threaded barrel, Sig recoil spring, Surefire X300, and Mecgar weighted baseplate comp mags.

It shoots amazingly well, with the biggest change coming from the SRT kit and the Gray Guns trigger. Obviously having a red dot on there now is a huge bonus as well.

Hello everyone. I’ve been struggling to find an appropriate optic for my Ruger Scout .308. I do not like the traditional scout scope setup, it’s a bit awkward. I’ve tried an LPVO and it was just okay. Looking for opinions and advice from individuals who have used the Spectre or a Spectre clone. I’m open to other optic recommendations as well. Thanks.

I'll start with some info regarding the OEM Makasi folding stock, and what I'll be replacing it with and why:

- Should still fit without interfering with the non-reciprocating charging handle (TBD, but I'm confident)

- Weighs 325g with everything assembled (folding hinge adapter, stock, cheek riser and screws)

- Without riser it weighs 300g

- Total weight = 0.72lbs

- Total Makasi stock weight = at least 1.4lbs (maybe more if folding adapter wasn't included, but I think it was)

- Twice as light as the OEM stock

- Hinge is steel, stock is aluminum

I went with this particular stock because the hinge is steel and the stock is aluminum. It's also one of the few that I saw that uses 2 thick screws to connect the stock to the hinge, most only use 1.

I've also seen a durability test on YouTube with similar 5KU stocks (they have a lot) where they beat the shit out of them and they're incredibly durable.

There is also a model just like mine except its completely straight, doesn't have the raised cheek weld. In hindsight, I probably should've went with that one instead. They also come in different colours if that's your thing.

My primary goal was to 1) reduce weight, 2) while still maintaining durability, 3) at a low cost. There are tons of options for pic rail stocks, this was the only one I could find that satisfies my 3 goals.

It was ordered from Hong Kong, took about a month to arrive. I'm sure you'll find people scalping these soon enough on various local sale websites. I won't link anything directly, but I only paid about $115 CAD all in for the stock + cheek risers.

NOT ALL STOCKS ARE COMPATIBLE WITH THE CHEEK RISERS. The stock must have two holes drilled through the top to use the exact ones I mentioned. I'd rather my face not touch cold/hot aluminum, yes I'm a huge pussy.

Finally, I also got some rail covers both for the MLOK and Picrail and a BCM short vert grip. I'll be pairing this with a Vortex Sport 30mm Cantilever mount with a Hawke Endurance 30 FD 1.7-10x44mm and Offset Magpul MBUS Pro (back up sights).

Just wanted to throw out a quick review on the metal handguard and grip adapter that Neumann Metalworks just put out. Super reasonably priced, came to I think $170 all in with express shipping included. I am putting a picatinny stock on it but just figured I'd snap some photos of it now, as the stock itself arrives in another day or two.

Super solid feel, easy install, and very cheap for what you get. The handguard and grip were combined, half the price of the Midwest Industries handguard alone, which has also been discontinued I believe.

Did not receive any sort of incentive from NM to write this, just doing so because he was great to interact with, has install tutorials too on his site to make it super easy, and was a great price for all aluminum furniture for it. Super nice to have a modern ergonomic PCC setup again.

Photo doesn't have the picatinny stock installed yet as Im still waiting for it to arrive in the mail. Mag in the photo is of course empty, just stuck it in the rifle to complete the look for the photo to show off the furniture.

Very solid kit, good fitment, I love it. It is just a bit over 27" OAL even without the picatinny stock installed, so i believe it is technically legal to use even with just the pistol grip as it is over 26" OAL, someone correct me though if I am remembering wrong or misinterpreting something (I dont intend to use it anyway until I have the remainder of the stock installed).

Figured I'd submit an access to information request to Alberta Justice to see the real story on why/why not the ASFCP hasn't made any effort to setup a mobile collection unit in province, the obvious aside.

Only to be met with a fee request of $15,000.

Looks like a great way to prevent the citizens from attaining access to the information they're entitled to.

Just saw this video that came up on my YouTube feed. Prior to 1969 I guess it was legal to hunt with a handgun/revolver. In less than 60 years so much has changed in regards to bs firearms restrictions smh.

Anyways shout out to "The Way to Native Chronicles". He makes a lot of good Canadian gun/hunting content.

So here is the process. WILL IT WORK???? Can any one knowledgeable tell me where it can go wrong?

1. Buy and import a complete OEM 100% Glock 19 Gen3 frame from USA via a Canadian Gunsmith business/shop. This should come with its own serial number etc. Eg (https://pistolframes.com/product/glock-19-gen-3-oem-frame/). Till your transfer is approved it will be in control of the GunSmith/dealer and registered on their business. The reason for going for frame is because Frames by design do not have the caliber (check FRT, it does not have caliber for frames). So your final firearm is not going to be a converted one but one that began its life as a 22LR.
2. Get Advantage Arms Glock 22lr conversion kit, which should not be troublesome as it is not even a firearm.
3. Provide it to the gunsmith above and let them complete the firearm. It will be a Glock 19 Gen 3 in 22LR (FRT calls them Non Commercial Customization). Business should register it as such.
4. Get an olympic exemption letter quoting Make/Model as Glock 19 Gen3 in 22LR. Quote FRT entry too. (This is the most doubtful step... will they issue?). Before requesting ensure you have joined say SFC or BC-equivalent or a pistol club etc.
5. Once you have olympic exemption letter initiate the transfer to your name. RCMP will ask for exemption letter, show them the letter.
6. Once transfer is complete, take possession of the firearm.

Congrats! Now you Glock 19 Gen 3 in 22LR. Enjoy your firearm and practice hard for competitive shooting!

Finally got my parts in from Neumann metal works (no thanks to canada post)! Super happy with quality and fitment. This is my first time owning a red dot so im itching to head out to SPFGA as soon as their ranges open back up.

This is the new compact version of the TM22 feather. Functionally it's the same as the normal one but shorter barrel. The last picture is the one I had a while ago and an example of what it can look like with the CAR-15 stock (on the way). I'll eventually get the a few mag basses too. Now that we have top charging handles, it really is the AR at home.

I haven't shot it yet, but I'll do a video on it whenever the stock arrives.

Anybody know what gun his mag would used in? Looks a lot bigger than 5.56-.223 to me.

After acquiring my first exemption for a Ruger MK4 22/45 and posting about it the other day, figured I’d do a follow up showing it in action and providing thoughts for anyone else looking to purchase one with their exemption! Feel free to ask any more questions not answered on the last post about either the gun or the exemption process or anything in between!

First thoughts, came with a lockable hard case, two magazines, one cable lock, and a couple other accessories, so good value out of the gate. As far as shooting, given it’s brand new, there’s bound to be a couple issues that will smooth out with firing over time. Had a couple stovepipes, but that was remedied after sending a few mags down range. The biggest issue was failure to extract (except it reset the firing pin weirdly enough). In the 100 odd rounds I shot, probably every 4th or 5th magazine had one of these. Interestingly, it only ever happened on the 10th round feeding into the 9th, so truthfully, I suspect it’s less the gun’s fault and more the pinned magazine having reliability issues cycling the final couple rounds (which are a squeeze to get in with the round limiting block pinned at the bottom).

Overall, I’m super happy with the purchase, personally. If you were only going to file for one exemption, maybe you’d get something 2000$+. But I figured I’d play it safe and try a cheaper yet reliable pistol as my first exemption, in case it didn’t work out. Needless to say, this is kind of the maverick 88 of rimfire pistols. No nonsense, rugged, dependable, and a small handful of little features to customize.

Next exemption has been requested so I’ll make a post when that happens as well! Thank you to everyone for the attention last post, and to everyone who DM’d, I hope I answered your questions, and feel free to ask any more if you need! And to the few 1 hour old bot accounts that begged for exemptions in my DM’s with exactly the same wording between all of you, better luck next time (poly) ;)

Had a phone call with the CFO wanting to apply for one. They told me they are likely tweaking the program or ending it entirely soon, as people have been taking advantage. They told me I could still apply but they may not process it. I did anyways and they approved it very quickly.

Not sure what the overall outcome will be but if anybody was debating applying just get it done now.

Edit: The ‘taking advantage’ was that they told me people had lent out entire collections of 10-20 guns across the province to different people.
