Shitpost / Memes Hush Holsters SKS2000
Heads up, guys check your Hush Holsters SKS stock. Mine cracked from the buttstock to the grip after just a few uses and I’m still waiting on my wood replacement.

Ngl, this is part of the reason i was hoping the nylon versions would be more readily available in Canada. I trust those more than the wood for this type of setup.

Damn that's a weird place for it to crack. Can't imagine what forces would cause that, especially since it's around the grip area. Maybe they're overtorquing the stock adapters leading to failure around that section? It's a bit of a weird design with only one through bolt on an angle.

I spoke with Hush Holsters and they mentioned it came from a bad batch of wood from their supplier.

The quality of that wood is atrocious. My SKS2000 is sitting in the box on a shelf.

I haven't owned one, but i have handled one, and although its a great idea for our market, the wood quality and Quality control is less than desirable...
They Should've went with polymer for sure..

I don't care bout the looks though SKS are cool for sure. But you said the shittiest guns and crappy stock, crappy stock that may be but the SKS is the goat, only limited by the internal magazine. Even for the new price of $1k you can't find a better semi auto.

If you buy an SKS to try an take first place at the bench rest competition ya you're gunna be let down. Nobody buys and SKS because it's a super accurate platform. They buy them because they're borderline indestructible and go bang every time if you clean it once per decade. If they were so horribly inaccurate nobody would hunt with them. If they're good enough to kill a deer who cares about MOA.

Yeah there's definitely better options, I won't be hunting with one, but plenty of people still do. And if you truly believe it's only good for shooting cans and gongs then who cares about accuracy at all? If it hits the pop can or the gong why does it need to be better? I've never met a guy who complained about their SKS accuracy while shooting steel at 50 yards. would you take a bone stock Honda civic to the drag strip and get upset when its not as fast as a Corvette? You can't fault something for being bad at something it was never designed to do.

I think one would discover that a great majority of Combloc autoloading firearms would struggle to pattern better than 3moa. And Most Nato counterparts would struggle to pattern better then half that (1.5moa). The more u shoot, the more you will come to acknowledge that if a guns accuracy compliments the maximum ballistics of the cartridge, what's really the benefits behind it being more accurate at that point? Take 7.62x39. Alot of the bullets start to destabilize around 650 yards. And most most would agree that the ethical big game energy range is inside 200yards. 3moa will ring a 24" gong pretty reliably out 650yards. 3moa will boiler room a deer everytime inside 200 yards. If u had a bolt gun in 7.62x39 that shoots 1moa... what would you do differently? Shoot a 10" plate at 650yards.... only to discover that it dont ring nearly as satisfying as the bigger gong anyways lol. You say that ur capable of head shooting a deer inside 200 yards but ultimately your still gonna aim for that 6moa boiler room haha.

Agreed, and outside of an AR15, in the autoloading world its decently good at that compared to its competition in terms of accuracy and reliability. The ergonomics of the SKS id argue is where its real shortcomings are.

That chrome lined barrel goes a long way. Also running good ammo is the biggest factor
