Im looking to get my first IWB holster for my G15 Gen5. Ive seen some on amazon pretty cheap, ive seen some at gun stores for pretty cheap and pretty expensive. Wanted to get your thoughts and recommendations. Im right handed btw.

I want to carry on my appendix, as for reason for a holster? Besides being a member at a range with holster certification, its important to excersice our civil liberties.

I just ordered a Baikal IJ-12 to start trap at my local range, and not many reviews are available, what are your guys thoughts on it? Shiny bores,no cracks, improved mod/ full. Payed 370$

I did not want to spend too much before knowing if I like trap.

I'd like to put something together that has the form factor of the CZ 600 Trail, but is more accurate and from a company that respects Canadian gun owners. Folding stock ideally, and a barrel under 18 inches. Not a scout rifle. Need a solid rail for a 2-12, 3-15, etc scope in the normal position.

Sig Cross is way too expensive, I fear reliability of the BCL MRX Bison, So I'm left looking at either a Ruger American or a Howa mini action in a MDT or some other chassis.

Anything I'm overlooking here?

EDIT: STANAG mag compatibility is also a huge plus.

New guy here, got my PAL and may be joining the reserves in a combat position. The 10/22 I don't find aesthetically pleasing imo, how's the Derya TM22 overall?

I like the "modern" look of it, and seems fun to use at the range, and feel like it'll be the "closest" to the CAF rifle so good for practicing with at the range. Any tips?

Also, anyone have any links to legal mods I can add onto it, like a laser scope, etc.? Or just in general, like good but cheap trigger locks and cases?

Since the Makasi is coming out and uses a standard 1913 stock interface, anyone put any thought of what might go good onto it? Acr is quite nice but that’s out of production everywhere, unfortunately. MCX? Or aftermarket?

I've got the Canadian 3 gun of a 12ga pump, semi auto .22, and an SKS.

With the Makasi vs Carmel in the works, am I better off a) getting either of these 2 b) waiting for a new bullpup to come to the market, or c) hoping shit changes in the future?

Just got my PAL and starting to plan out my first few pickups. Curious what you’d recommend as a solid starting point.

Right now I’m leaning toward a 12 gauge semi-auto as my first since a few of my close friends are into skeet shooting and hunting, so I figure that’s what I’d realistically use the most right away.

That said, I’ll probably end up adding a .22LR at some point for cheaper range time, and I’ve also been thinking about eventually getting something like a .308 Win for hunting down the line with a little target practice —but not sure if that’s jumping too far ahead.

For context, I grew up going to the range with family (mostly ARs and pistols), but obviously things are a bit different now. My main focus at the moment is target shooting, with some interest in getting into hunting.

Would love to hear what you started with and what you’d recommend for a first setup in Ontario.

Hey everyone. I'm looking to buy my first non .22 rifle and since I've been enamored with lever action, I'm trying to decide between the Marlin 1894 Classic and the Henry Big Boy Steel Side Gate, both in .357 Magnum. While the Marlin looks cooler (especially the finish and flushed look), I've heard that the Henry Big Boy is just as good (maybe slightly less so compared to Marlin).

But is the Marlin $400 worth better than the Henry? Want to buy one of them this week, but not sure which one to go with. I've also never shot the 357 in either - used a friend's S&W recently and felt very comfortable firing so decided to go with that one, plus keeping ammo cost in mind.

I was looking at getting a Ruger American gen II chambered in .308 a few months ago and was looking back into it when I saw they had jumped from 5-600 to 900+. Anybody know the reason?

Looking to get a new shotgun for IPSC or Practical Shotgun. My Mossberg is not up to the task as it does not have chokes, is heavy, and only has a 6+1 shot capacity.

What's the go-to pump shotgun for IPSC-type shooting? Is it the Benelli Supernova? What barrel length is best - 26" or 28"?

Similarly, for semi-auto choices, it seems the Beretta 1301 Comp Pro is pretty much out-of-the-box ready, but do people prefer the 21" or 24" model? Are there any other choices I should consider, like the Benelli M2 SP in 26" or 28"?

I likely won't use it for clays, so it's solely for practical shotgun use, should I get a shorter one for easier maneuverability?

I have been looking at getting a TM22 as my first purchase as a new PAL holder. Obviously, I've been down the rabbit hole and back looking at either the pro 18" or the 16". I heard there is maybe a 12" version becoming available in June...does anyone have any info on this? I haven't been able to find much beyond someone mentioning it in comments across some other posts/forums etc.

Recently got my hands on a Derya Tm-22 Pro 12" barrel and have almost no issues with it. One thing I dislike is how the only bolt hold open is built into the magazine so when you remove the mag, the bolt closes.

I want a bolt hold open that connects to the safety of the carbine so that when you flick the safety off, it drops the bolt.

Not looking to change out the charging handle as I like the left side charge and don't want to spend $250 on a kit I don't even really want (Alex Homebrew bolt hold open)

I've done a very poor drawing here to show what I mean. Does anyone make anything like I'm describing? Or am I gonna have to buy a 3D printer and start experimenting?

I’ve tried an LPVO and it was just okay. Looking for opinions and advice from individuals who have used the Spectre or a Spectre clone. I’m open to other optic recommendations as well. Thanks.

Where can I get decently priced firearms in reddeer?

I'm eying up the new Ruger American Scout in 7.62 but I'm not a fan of limiting myself to 5 rounds with pinned AK mags. I did some looking online and couldn't find what I was looking for so I figured I'd come ask here. Do AK pistol mags with 10 round capacity exist like the LAR-15 mags? If not I was considering going with the 5.56 for LAR-15 mags or 308 for AICS.

Hey y’all, I recently got my PAL and I’ve been looking for a compact (14”~ barrel) 12GA 3”

pump shotgun with a telescoping stock and a rail for optics.

I don’t want to spend too much, so right now my top contenders are the Huglu Victor P-Tac or the Canuck Commander.

I also considered the EGE Panzer Arms Raider XII (or similar folding pumps), but I wasn’t fond of the reduced magazine capacity and relatively unproven design.

And recommendations or tips?

Looking at snagging a TM22 and their price is much lower than big box stores. The only thing that seems odd is their shipping is not at all set, nor is GST. GST seems easy (5% on top of purchase price) but how is their shipping?

I’m seriously considering picking up a Ruger American Scout Gen. 2 in 7.62x39. I love the idea of shooting cheap surplus through it which I’m well stocked in. Might also be a great rifle to tag the odd deer.

But, I’m also thinking the 5.56 would be a great option too. Any major reasons I shouldn’t go with X39?

Ive been thinking of picking one up in .300 WM, the price tag is the only thing making me doubt it. I think they are the coolest looking bolt actions around. Anyone get to handle one?

I already have a reliable bolt action, the reason Id pick this one up is fun factor, and for a good dedicated LR rifle.
