Buy recommendations Anyone ever bought a Ruger precision gen 4?

Are these worth the price? I’ve been thinking about getting into one in 6.5CM

In that price range, Tikka Ace's exist and are the no-brainer option.

Also anecdotal, but I've seen too many of the Rpr's have weird phantom issues that mess with peoples days at courses and events. It's a shame given the brand a pricepoint.

If nothing else, look how many RPR's are on gunpost vs ACE's

My friends RPR would randomly loose and regain zero, sometimes in the same string. He ditched it for a bergara

Sounds like a leupold I had once.

I was originally drawn to the Ruger Precision because it looks badass. However after doing research, I went with the Tikka T3X Ace Target. Tikka is the way to go here.

Unless of course you just want it because of the badass look. I actually have no issue with this and have bought things because they look cool before.

Tikka target ace is better, in all aspects. If you want a modern looking bolt action that does it all look no further than the target ace.

Too bad Tikka doesnt have an Ace in .338 Lapua though

Eh, I'm a bit more of a hobbiest and less of a competitor when it comes to long range but .300 win mag is good out to 1300 yards and .338 is good out to 1500. I feel like if you are shooting steel .300 wing mag is half the price and does 85% of what .338 does. Unless you want much higher on target energy at those ranges it doesn't matter a ton.

Barrett MRAD even better, but no one actually cross shops these rifles with a Ruger.

I have a gen 2 rpr. I love it. Eventually i bought a tikka tac a1 and tossed it in a krg chassis. I shoot the tikka 3:1 compared to the rpr.
Its a great shooting rifle at a good price for quality. If you can stretch your budget a bit, buy a tikka. The bolt throw is so much smoother.
