Buy recommendations Opinions on a IWB for Glock17 Gen5

Hello reddit friends,

Im looking to get my first IWB holster for my G15 Gen5. Ive seen some on amazon pretty cheap, ive seen some at gun stores for pretty cheap and pretty expensive. Wanted to get your thoughts and recommendations. Im right handed btw.

Edit:

I want to carry on my appendix, as for reason for a holster? Besides being a member at a range with holster certification, its important to excersice our civil liberties.

Where are you looking you place the gun on your waistline? Appendix? 3 o’clock? 4-5 o’clock? That will determine the kind of holster you would want to go with.

I personally prefer appendix, so I have a sidecar-style IWB holster made by Safariland and Haley Strategic called the IncogX, but similar designs are made by many other manufacturers.

Aliengear is a decent one for 3-5 o’clock placement IWB, crossbreed too.

Grey Fox strategic, Tier 1 concealment, G-Code, Philster, etc. most of these makers are USA-based except for grey fox.

Don’t buy cheap garbage on Amazon. A quality holster will run you $100-200.

Thank you foe the input, im liking the IncogX. Do you have the mag caddy?

The strategic Tier 1 also seems like a good one but so many buying options. This is where I kind of start getting turned off b.c of all the options. Google searches haven't really confirmed things for me. Can you tell me about the DCC moni clip, utituck, and ultra slimtuck?

Also, the IncogX supplier doesnt ship to Canada. Did you have to go through an importer?

I appreciate all the info

Yes the mag caddy is what makes it “sidecar-style”. It also more evenly distributes pressure on your pelvis which increases comfort.

The clips you’re talking about are just different ways the holster secures to your belt or pant and the level of concealment they provide. I can’t really say much about them.

There are 2 Canadian stores that carry the IncogX: DS tactical and SDTAC. I use the non-weapon light glock model w/ caddy for work and I have the same model but with the weapon light for personal.

I was looking for a solution where it clips on to my pants/regular belt without need to use the rigid belt like with my other holsters. I think i have enough information to move forward with this. I appreciate your help.

Best of luck. Let the peanut gallery know what you went with and how you like it.

Depending on the range, they won’t allow you to draw from IWB. What’s the use case ?

Grey fox sells quality holsters, for basically every use

No light. I definitely won't go with amazon. I know you get what you pay for. It kind of threw me off seeing that there.

What civil liberties do you speak of? I see zero reason to have an IWB please enlighten me? Not trying to be rude just honest questions

Welp, is it illegal to buy it? No, so ill exercise that right and own it. I'll also exercise my right to holster shoot at my range. Buy what you can when you can, bill C-21 is more than just firearms, it boils down to property rights.
