Misc ? From TNA: Remington Clone Turkish Made, Canadian Speced?

Thumbnail

True North Arms has commissioned a Turkish manufacturer to make a prototype clone-correct, parts interchangeable Remington 870 clone. The idea is to have a better price point then American 570s while maintaining or exceeding parts quality, and allowing the use of variable ammo tubes, including the longer ones allowed by it being manual action in combination with variable length of barrels, including very short ones that still allow the firearm to exceed the minimum Canadian overall length. The entire Remington 870 ecosystem of parts would be available, as the fellow form TNA demonstrates as he mixes and matches parts from the clone and original. TNA is looking for feedback on the interest in this, as well as if it should be exactly cloned, or built up a bit in places known to wear on the 870. Admins, I'm not a TNA representative, I just enjoy their videos. Thanks!

Buy recommendations Delta Dynamics ghosting me?

I ordered two of delta dynamics shot cards two and a half weeks ago and I haven’t had any update about the order being shipped, I’ve contacted them from their site, dm’d them on Instagram, messaged them on Reddit, and have still gotten no reply. This is pretty disappointing since o heard they had a pretty good reputation and their prices seemed really great

Some friends and myself have been working hard to get this match organized. All proceeds to a good cause, split between the fallen officers families and the wounded warriors of Canada. If you are IPSC/ IDPA holster certified or are certified to carry every day for your job, please sign up and show your love and support to the first responders who put their lives on the line on the daily.

This will be the first time we've run this match but if things go well we will be making it a yearly event. Any questions please ask.

Sign ups are currently open for MIL/LEO but civilian sign ups open up soon. We can be found on practicescore under the same title. Hope to see many of you out there.

Buy recommendations Looking for a rifle sling

Hello people,

I am looking to buy a sling to go with my first rifle. I got a hunting trip coming up and I would like something that won't slip and won't interfere with my backpack.

I think I saw a sling that allows the rifle to rest vertically on the shoulder but with a another strap that goes around the body to prevent it from slipping.

Any recommendations?

I call it, the SKS box.

4 Chinese and 1 Russian.

(Of which 1 chinese is for Bubba projects since it has bolt hold open mod, no bayonet lug and a weird custom muzzle brake courtesy of the original owner)

Now if only I could find a complete Yugo that isn't an arm and a leg.

Buy recommendations Looking for a brake recommendation with low concussive blast

*Edited. Fellas, this is not a post about hearing safety. I am alive to the risks. Those are my risks to take on or to mitigate. This is a post about brakes recommendations. Yes, they are louder, they will be tested with ear pro compared to bare muzzle before I go hunting without ear pro. Your concern is appreciated, but stay on topic, please.

I am in the market for a brake to go on my 308 win bolt rifle with the following characteristics, listed in the order of importance:

1) Low concussive blast

2) Muzzle jump mitigation

3) Recoil reduction

4) Length/weight.

The rifle is used for hunting (so shot spotting and low concussive blast are important as I hunt without ear protection) and for practicing at the range (so recoil reduction is somewhat important but low concussive force is at a premium, as I can mitigate felt recoil in other ways).

I've been doing a lot of theoretical research and have zeroed in on PVA Jetblast (3 port) Ultralight. Based on the SabLab testing I got onto the Jetblast and then realized they make an ultralight, but I can't seem to get my hands on it in Canada.

A friend suggested that I try IBI Tactical 3-Gill. They advertise the first port at 90 degrees reducing backward blast, but I can't seem to find any reviews, and while everyone can advertise things not everyone can achieve the same results.

Are there any other brakes worth looking at based on my priorities?

Don't care where the brake is made, as long as it's available in Canada.

Shitpost / Memes Chopping the hell out of an SKS so it’s a pistol so we can all have 10 round fixed mags? Thoughts? (I’m mostly joking, mostly)

Thumbnail
gallery
50 Upvotes

Okay now lowkey I know this is stupid, but like bear with me here. Alright, so we got 10 round STANAG mags because ARp’s are a thing (that’s the reason right?) now I was recently wondering, do we technically have 10 round AK mags because of Dracos? Now admittedly I’m FAR from a genius and I also am pretty dumb and also happen to be a bit unfamiliar with what legally constitutes a pistol, but a google search brought me to this: The Criminal Code (Section 84(1)) states: “Handgun" means a firearm that is designed, altered or intended to be aimed and fired by the action of one hand, whether or not it has been redesigned or subsequently altered to be aimed and fired by the action of both hands.

Soooo… would it be hypothetically possible for a quirked up whiteboy such as myself to chop down/ “redesign” an SKS to be a pistol (although jokes aside I know this would require building it literally from scratch so each unit has a fresh serial number. Also no handgun transfers kinda make this a bit hard) and then we market it to the CAF and say “this is the iconic military assault style weapon the SKS now with more and better assault style features such as more easily being able to technically/ tactically hidden down the pant legs of CAF servicemen making it the perfect sidearm to be given to all CAF members. Bonus points for the true authentic Canuck nostalgia”

So now we got SKS pistols, like an Obrez on crack, and then WE (I’m saying we crowd fund this btw) start manufacturing SKS fixed magazines or duckbills or whatever for our innovative new service pistols for our brave CAF guys, and they are now pinned to ten rounds not five.

Sooooo, am I onto something?? Lowkey think we could do numbers with this one ngl

News / Politics / Activism The Gun Ban Court is HERE and WE ARE IN!

Post image

https://nfa.ca/the-gun-ban-court-is-here-and-we-are-in/

We’re In!

Canada’s National Firearms Association (NFA) is joining the Supreme Court Challenge brought by the Canadian Coalition for Firearms Rights (CCFR) against the Liberal government’s Orders in Council (OIC) banning hundreds of thousands of firearms.

NFA will participate in the case as an Intervenor.

At first, we weren’t sure whether the Court would accept us.

To participate as an Intervenor in a Supreme Court case, an organization must bring an argument that is different and distinct from that of the principal litigant.

But NFA believes that we have found the right argument.

With the help of civil rights lawyer Jason Gratl of Vancouver, B.C., we believe we’ve got a strong case to present to the Court.

Jason has a lot of experience with cases like this. He has argued before the Supreme Court and served as head of the B.C. Civil Liberties Union. He is the right guy for the job.

The question is this;

Are laws in Canada made through legislation and Parliament, or are they done by Order in Council?

Did the Liberals overstep their Authority by using the Orders in Council to target so many Canadians and so much lawfully owned property?

In case you are not familiar with what an Order in Council (OIC) is, it is a means by which the Prime Minister, using the powers of the Governor General—that is, the Government of Canada—can pass emergency orders as de facto law without having to introduce controversial legislation and get it passed by Parliament.

In other words, they used a tragedy and a political gimmick to push their agenda—without having to answer to anyone.

Apparently, the Liberals considered confiscating hundreds of thousands of legally owned firearms from law-abiding Canadians an emergency on the scale of a ‘Declaration of War’.

Which it was.

A Declaration of War on the Rights, Freedoms, and Property of Canadians

And this has happened with firearms in the past.

In the early 1990’s, governments prohibited scores of firearms through OIC.

However, shortly afterward, they prohibited those same firearms through legislation passed by Parliament instead.

Back then, maybe they weren’t so sure those OIC’s would pass legal scrutiny.

Are the Liberal OIC’s actually lawful?

Well, we’re going to find out. The Supreme Court Case will be heard in November 2026, and a decision will be rendered shortly after.

Misc Can it be done? Can we get new decent subcompact PCC models?

Is it possible .... to build a Canada legal TP-9 like errr PCC from first principle? Just throwing a basic idea in the wind. Not by a lay person but by a legal business licensed to make firearms.

We know Glock and its internal parts are dime a dozen (not literally but you get my drift!).

Barrel assembly, trigger/ trigger groups, recoil springs, buffers, springs, locking block and even entire upper slide.

And actual receiver is essentially polymer frame. I mean there are such companies like Polymer 80 that make such 100% polymer frames. The frame as such is basically cavity and holes to support these components. So.... why not have that cavity intact and just add a butt stock (as in the mold) for what essentially is a handgun design into a .... sub compact carbine not matching anything on market externally. the slide can still "slide" on rails, heck may be cover by a shroud.

Rest everything is essentially... in same place as a glock.

Heck, while we are at it, we can have a unique mag/magwell design (just some mechanical incompatiability with general glock mag well) and have mags with just 5 rounds. Like add slots/notch to avoid any other mag from fitting in.

And here is the kicker part. Since this is going to be a Canada only madness and not in massive numbers, so make it using additive manufacturing process which does not require committing to make molds etc. The equipment are flexible and reuseable. Just slow. But then Canada is a small market. You can actually do a "build on order" model. There are fibres that can hold for pretty decent. Like PEEK. Heck... offer a service that if you crack and break your frame, they can send you a new frame if you return old broken/cracked frame. I mean there are such things like FGC-9. Those guys are using much much worse fibres (PLA etc) and materials. You can use better fibres and structural material. Like PEEK, Nylon+CF+GF... the list is endless... to actually make the frame as strong as polymer frames from Glock.

And when and if Horsie or Lie-be-reals ban it. Just make cosmetic changes to the damn design while keeping the cavity intact.

I believe... you can even have specialized AI models that can actually let you to customize the asthetics / "looks" of firearm, without actually messing up the structural integrity of the frame.

Let horsie ban it... send the new model for classification and validation the next day and launch it once it is done. Or sent 10. And launch as you need. One by one. May be next day to horsie ban.

TL;DR:

  1. Make your PCC models recievers a moving target for Horsie to ban.
  2. Reuse ALL of Glock internals. Basically put Glock in a PCC body.
  3. Use additive manufacturing methods and produce polymer frame on-demand to minimize capital tie up.
  4. Supply mags with 5 shots only. That will bypass the new design ban. Make mags/mag-well slightly incompatible with existing models.

Can it even work? u/SpectreBallistics ?

PS: Apologies if I made a very stupid lay-person mistake.

Milsurps / Prohib Heckler & Koch HK Mark 23 Appreciation Post

Post image

Howdy Folks!

The Texan is back with yet another gun appreciation post, and today, how about another once available firearm in Canada before it was prohibited.

This time, we got ourselves a classic from the Sicario Films, Metal Gear, and of course The Walking Dead, the one and only!

Mark 23

One of the most comically large handguns that was ever put into military service, and it’s so big that you could literally have it stretch like more than half of your leg if you have the added silencer to it.

Anyways, enough yapping! Enjoy!

May sound weird but looking for videos of people working on and shooting thier firearms without any commentary.

Just the audio and background noise as they work and shoot.

Shooting Looking for Trap Range Review in Ontario

Silverdale vs Hamilton vs Waterloo vs Bridgeport for Trap/Clay Shooting?
I’m a beginner getting into 12ga trap/clay shooting and looking to join a club in Ontario around GTHA region. I’ve narrowed it down to Silverdale Gun Club, Hamilton Gun Club, Waterloo Rod & Gun Club, and Bridgeport Rod & Gun Club.
I’d appreciate recent experiences from members:
How busy does trap get, especially on weekends?
Can you normally just show up and shoot, or is booking required?
Which club is most beginner-friendly and easygoing?
Are experienced members/staff generally willing to help a beginner with technique and learning while practicing?
How are the trap facilities/machines and overall atmosphere?
How does bringing guests work, especially someone without a PAL who would be directly supervised?
What are the typical costs per round besides membership?
Any major pros/cons you’ve noticed?
If you’ve shot at more than one of these clubs, which would you recommend for a beginner who wants to regularly practice, learn and improve at clay shooting?
Thanks!
