Fix my gun Dumb question... Adler AD500 223. Do you think I can put blue lock tight on this nut here? It rattles quite frequently

My local Canadian tire has a few of these. I was tempted to grab one just to scratch that semi auto itch. But I see more posts about issues, than not. So I’m hesitant.

I just got the akdas alcor .223. After hearing all the horror stories about the Adler I looked a bit more into the alcor. So far the quality seems way better on the alcor

The alcor has its fair share of horror stories, mine's on its way to kodiak right now, likely to be replaced. The steel cam pin ate the aluminum receiver after maybe 350 rounds, now it locks all the way back after every shot. It also sheared a roll pin and ejected the firing pin out the back of the bolt at about 150 rounds, that was fun having to disassemble it with a live round in the chamber

Mine is on her way to warranty center now. Barrel loose easily just under 20rd fired, bolt charging handle is broken… hand guard is easily to loose during firing under 20rd….. I guess it is exactly designed for hunting purpose only. Maybe 20rd is her limit to hold the barrel tight

Yo bro, I have the exact same one is 308. Exact same problem. Deadass any problems text me abt it. Also the alleged solution, the rod the nut sits on, feel it. If it feels loose than you need to tighten a separate screw. And blue loctite is alright, I even used red and it was OK. Just dont put it on like its Betty Crocker frosting. Ill send images, gimme a mjn here.

I cant send images, so dm me. (The side with the charging handle, there is a small threaded hole for thw screw so the handguard can be "screwed" into place, flip it over. Now there should be 2 holes. The bottom one should have a screw with a hex bit hole, tighten it and it'll tighten the rod that the retaining nut sits on). Theyre Turkish guns, they suck. Love em, but they suck. Want a tacticool gun?, wait, Canada is importing new guns.

Only if you never want to take it a part ever again.

Peroxide breaks it down. Now you know.

If it's the same as the 308 version, that nut needs to be removed every time you remove the barrel and access the bolt and it is an utter pain in the dick.

Maybe thread tape (Teflon tape), maybe the thickness helps it from wiggling
