Misc ? From TNA: Remington Clone Turkish Made, Canadian Speced?

https://youtu.be/vZhtvfP0Igw?si=LoancFJ2gEN-8gBq

True North Arms has commissioned a Turkish manufacturer to make a prototype clone-correct, parts interchangeable Remington 870 clone. The idea is to have a better price point then American 570s while maintaining or exceeding parts quality, and allowing the use of variable ammo tubes, including the longer ones allowed by it being manual action in combination with variable length of barrels, including very short ones that still allow the firearm to exceed the minimum Canadian overall length. The entire Remington 870 ecosystem of parts would be available, as the fellow form TNA demonstrates as he mixes and matches parts from the clone and original. TNA is looking for feedback on the interest in this, as well as if it should be exactly cloned, or built up a bit in places known to wear on the 870. Admins, I'm not a TNA representative, I just enjoy their videos. Thanks!

Make some 14" and 12.5", and I'm in if the price is like the DA Grizzlies once were adjusted for inflation and the barrels are decent. I bought mine for $199 back in the day.

Hopefully we can get 14” barrels that don’t cost $350+

Lost me at the projected price point of $870. Who would pay more money for a Turkish clone? You can get a brand new Remington 870 for under $800, under $700 if you get it on sale.

It would be smarter to just focus on parts.

This is a fantastic idea!!

I hope the quality is up to it, but I rather suspect that like China, they can build good stuff if they want to. (SKS, m305, etc)

Apparently Turkish military firearms are quite good. Shotguns are owned by the general public, so there are way more manufacturers, some of them with iffy QC. From the sound of it, TNA is working with a good one; hopefully these will be more like the Turkish MP5 clones, which are reportedly pretty good. Time will tell.

Make some 8.5” barreled birds head grip models please and thanks. Can be less than OAL length if they leave the factory like that 😎

If these can be made with short OAL I'll buy one immediately.

What people need to understand about most turkish builds is that it isn't just the specs that are a problem, it is the quality control and the materials.

The metallurgy is just not the same. I've seen cracked bolts and other forms of breakage that would be unthinkable failures from a quality brand.

The only way I'd consider one is to have a 8.5" model (super shorty clone), similar to the Chinese Dominion 870s.

Otherwise it's no different from buying a used 1970s Remington sample, back when they werw built to last.

my question is how well will this turkish manufacturer will actually do what is asked of them?

like they could tell TNA they could do it, take their money and then just make them the same as every other turkish pump shotgun being sent here. i have to think there are other companies have tried this and TNA isnt the first to ask one to make it compatible with genuine 870 parts.

A pump action that can be easily disassembled or taken down would be an instant buy from me. Or is there something on the market like that already?

Once I got the red loctite off the mag tube threads my Mossberg maverick 88 disassembles really easily

Just get a Blue Line. Made better than current 870s and built like a tank .

Is that a first hand review? I keep looking at them when they come on sale.

Yeah Bullseye just had them on sale for $280. I bought one after my coworker let me dick around with his. He's had his for about a year and has nothing but good things to say about it. He uses it as a beater bush gun and has definitely not treated it lightly, has seen hundreds of assorted rounds and probably has never cleaned it. I used to have a Remington 870 Police Magnum and the quality is on par with the Blue Line.

Hope they do DA Grizzly copies in 12.5” and 8”, I missed out on my chance to get the 12.5” Grizzly with ghost ring sights when they were still selling them.

I hear many people shit on Turkish guns but honestly there 12g are not bad at all and if it's a cheap 870 correct clone then fuck why not spend less and be able to use common parts I'm down for this
