Used to be bigger into guns when I was in army and was collecting and shooting a lot with my friend group back in those days. Took a break for 10 years as I was moving around a lot and had kids etc got busy with work and life.

Will ask my bro as he's a big hunter but wanted to ask here. I know obviously we have more signals about legality being more restricted, curious on approach to acquiring new guns in that context. Which guns seem safer in context of legality now? Do we have any forecasts on where Canada is actually going to end up in terms of what we will be allowed to own in 10 more years? Any rules of thumb for what gets a gun banned?

My second question is about value and technology. What has changed in terms of value with manufacturers in the market? Back in early 2010s there were a lot of Chinese brands entering market but quality was known to be poor. I bought a Russian SKS for $200 with 1000 rounds which was a great fix for getting rounds down range. Curious what are the go-tos for casual shooting practice now and also if there's any new trends in terms of technology.

Finally, any general suggestions for what to pick up for general use? I don't have hunters license but would like to grab something that's good for marksmanship training and could also be used for hunting once I get license. Probably want to go for deer but there's a fuckton of quail in my area too

I have been using cci mini mag and have also tried velocitor. Having a hard time these days finding any that are not hollow points with copper tip.

It only likes copper tips, but the last range day it got a little emotional on me for the rest of the day after my partner put a lead tip through it. After that it was jam after jam after jam...

Been looking to buy myself a lever action rifle finally. I see FOC has this henry big boy on sale for what seems like a decent price.

Anyone have experience shooting these? Or have any recommendations on what I should buy? Looking to spend no more than $1500.

Preferably id get something i can shoot with a .44 special or .38 special round but this price for the .45 colt seems like a good buy.

What scope should I get for this bad boy? Beretta BRX1 in 308. Will be used for mix of hunting and target shooting.

I just bought the 10/22 with the scope combo and the threaded barrel. I’m not a big fan of shooting with a scope and noticed there no iron sights on the barrel for this version, i would like to add a red dot to it. I’m pretty new to guns and would like some recommendations on a red dot sight also not sure what rail system is on the gun currently.

Have a nice bonus coming from work in the next couple weeks, want to buy a polymer "tactical" lever like a S&W Stealth Hunter in .357/.38.

This is going to be a firearm I'm going to want to build up (skeletonized stock, cartridge quiver, light, optic, etc).

Looking for options on a good base rifle to start with. The S&W is great obviously but I'm looking at $2k for just the rifle plus extras. Want to consider my options for good base rifles to start with that have good aftermarket support.

Just purchased this folding Chiappa Big Badger in 30.30.
looking for any sight/optics recommendations, wont be shooting anything north of 150yd, so low power scopes, red dot types etc. would be my assumed preference.
Low profile is a winner, because of the compact nature of the gun.

I've been waiting for a Marlin 1895 SBL 45-70 for a long time, like I'm sure some of you, and now considering other brands. I've been even open to the Marlin Trapper but even that has been a challenge.

I've been playing with the idea of the Rossi R95 Laminate which is like a replica Marlin, albeit not as high QC as the Marlin.

Would you recommend continue to wait for a Marlin or pick-up the Rossi R95?

If the Rossi R95 is really not recommended due to QC, would the S&W 1854 be a better choice? The only reason I haven't entertained the 1854 is really the laminate stock of the Rossi and Marlin that has attracted me to it.

I already have an anschutz chambered in 22mag and the thing is under $300, seeing as you can get 25 round mags for them and from what I’ve heard they’re pretty accurate it seems like a fun plinker… I’m feeling pretty tempted after seeing a video Neumann metalworks posted of him mag dumping his the other day, is there something I’m missing about these, any reason they’re not more popular?

I’m looking for some 11×60mm Mauser rounds and I’m wondering what my options are? I haven’t seen anyone selling any here, If I could find the components I’d consider making them myself, but admittedly I’ve never worked with black powder rounds before so I’m cautious.

I am looking to modify my SKS with an AR15 magazine adapter and was wondering if anyone sells already milled SKS bolts for AR15 magazines so I don't have to go get mine milled at a shop or attempt to do it myself

My Renegade is on the way and I'm looking for suggestion for ammo.

I went to the local Bass Pro and the lady behind the counter said she wasn't able to talk to me about the Renegade because they didn't sell it.

I know to stay away from steel ammo. Is there any bulk people recommend?

I have a new production Winchester 1892 in .357Mag. It has the classic crescent buttplate style, which I find to be very uncomfortable to shoot because of the pointy ends. I'm looking for a rubber recoil pad like the limbsaver ones, I wanted to hear your recommandation for the best ones and to be sure to get one that fits.

Looking to build myself a good 22lr precision rifle. I want to put it in a chassis. I like MDT I want to go with an MDT one. I already have a rifle on an Oryx chassis and another rifle on an XRS chassis. My budget would be around 800-900 for the chassis. I currently prefer the XRS over the Oryx, but looking at MDT website, there is the LSS Gen 3 Worker kit in the same budget. For those who know the LSS Gen 3 chassis, is it better than the XRS or I should stick with the XRS I already I like? Since it will go on a 22lr, weight of the chassis can be light (the XRS is somewhat heavy) and the LSS seems lighter.
