Buy recommendations Winchester 1892 recoil pad
I have a new production Winchester 1892 in .357Mag. It has the classic crescent buttplate style, which I find to be very uncomfortable to shoot because of the pointy ends. I'm looking for a rubber recoil pad like the limbsaver ones, I wanted to hear your recommandation for the best ones and to be sure to get one that fits.

You can also get like a grind to fit recoil pad off amazon. Little glue and screw. Might want to kinda cut the the crescent curve off.
Otherwise, limb saver + maybe a piece of wood to fill in the crescent?
One more option for you, something like a Learher buttcuff that has a buttpad on it, such as the Wayne Dog brand off Amazon. They have a few foam pads at the back. Throw that on, and I think it would definitely blunt the sharp edges. Might need to stick something else in there as well, but it will hold it all together nicely, but still not make you have to modify the gun. I have one for my lever action since I like leather and wanted the extra inch for length of pull, but I think it would work good for you too.

I was kind of hoping that there was a already existing solution, but yeah grind to fit or carving a buffer piece seems like the choice for best fit

The proper way to do it is with a grind to fit recoil pad. You will need to cut the stock flush.
Your best bet is to find a quality gunsmith and have them do it. If you're only doing one gun it will be cheaper than buying the tooling to grind one yourself. It'll probably be around $200 plus the cost of the pad.
For "period correct" recoil pads I like Pachmayr. For recoil I like Limbsaver. I'd go with a Pachmayer on yours. They have templates on their website so you can determine what size you need.
Avoid the amazon grind to fit ones.

Cutting the stock would remove the need for the pad. The amount of recoil manageable, it's the shape of the buttplate that causes issue.

No it wouldn't. You will still need something to cover the butt of the stock. Your original curved plate won't work anymore. Your length of pull will be different. Not to mention a blank, unfinished, unprotected piece of wood with 2 empty screw holes would be ugly as sin and would be easily damaged and chipped.

Commenting to see what gets recommended, got a chiappa in .44mag and the half moon stock bruised me first time shooting a box through it

I put a leather buttstock cover on my R92 44 mag, it's not as effective as a rubber pad, but it does help take the sharpness away from the metal buttplate.

I put a limbsaver on my 1892 .44, and I think it's a small, because I'll throw it on my Homesteader if the wife is out as well. I didn't want to alter the actual stock because I think it's beautiful looking, but the crescent/metal thing does not make for comfortable shooting. Slides on and off, I think it cost about 40-50 bucks, and I've left it on for a stupid amount of time and it hasn't affected the wood in a negative way (it shouldn't, but I've seen that concern raised before.
