Buy recommendations Where the hell can I find a browning BLR?
Is there any shop that reliably holds these in .308, non-pistop grip version, and can ship to Montreal, Quebec?
They leggit feel like the unicorn of firearms up here in Canada.

When we ordered ours last year browning canada told us minimum 2 year wait. So theyre like marlins, tough to get. Though not us but other stores should start seeing some this summer

Yeah browning even shut down the bps line to try and make up on back orders

I got my 6.5 CM version from Alberta or BC, honestly just gotta google up firearms stores and call them up 1 by 1.

Ordered a .300 win mag SS takedown and the store I ordered it from warned me it could be 3 years before I get it. Even with the long wait time, they are absolutely worth it. Absolutely love my other BLR

Jesus christ… they’re readily available in the US, how is it so long for those to trickle up to Canada?!
Here I was hoping I could get my hands on one before the deer season in fall..

They are in very high demand right now. There’s a back log and basically we are waiting on them to be made in Japan. That being said, your best bet would be to keep checking every week. They are continuously trickling in but they don’t stay on store shelves long.

A shipment arrived a couple month back and ended up in a handful of the usual shops. I balked at the price and regretted in when they sold out quick.

Calgary Center has one. I don't think i've ever even seen a pistol grip version of a BLR

The BLR's 'pistol grip version' (bottom one) isn't quite the pistol grip you're thinking of, but it's got more of a pistol grip than the classic stock (top one)

Aw crap it’s the SS model… while it would be the most responsible choice, I really like the classic model more… does the Calgary center reliably get those in stock too?

i don't look at them often enough to know but i could see it being easily a few months before getting more in. Remember Canadian dealers are importing what they can get in and we're like bottom of totem pole for that stuff.
As far as the colour goes, i know it would incur an additional cost but have you considered cerakote? Would get you the look you wanted as well as the functional protection.

I’m really more of a classic wood kinda guy. In fact It’s either one or the other… highly functional like a Ruger Scout, or a work of art like the Winchester 70.
I think the Ruger American scout is cerakote 😅, but that and the BLR couldn’t be anymore different, and I’m always drawn to more classical firearms.
