News / Politics / Activism CCFR Vs NFA

I’ve spoken to reps of both organizations and I still don’t understand what the difference is in their objectives and philosophy. Why do they hate each other so much? What led to the split? I understand how the CSSA is different but the NFA and CCFR are both lobby groups that can’t define each other except in opposition to themselves.

Check out this .22 that two scum bags had in their possession after a dine a dash! Sawed off ruger 10/22? How goddamn ghetto can you get? Classic Medicine Hat. Guaranteed that this loser will be back on the street asap instead of behind bars indefinitely like they should be for possessing a modified gun like this.

Looks like our province is providing some interim protections to delay the issue, maybe hold out for a more reasonable government - as I am understanding it.

News / Politics / Activism Turn in Only the Serialized Receiver For Confiscation

Hey gang,

Regardless of what the firearm classification was before it became prohibited (restricted or non-restricted), can I ONLY turn in the hollow (without the trigger group, etc.) serialized lower receiver for deactivation/surrender, and keep the barrel, upper, and other furniture?

The easiest example I can come up with is the AR-style rifles with the upper and serialized lower receiver that easily detach from each other.

For the record, I don't plan on taking any action until the last possible minute, but I'd like to know the least I have to do when that time comes.

I appreciate the help!

News / Politics / Activism Rally in Ontario?

Parroting the gentleman asking to rally in Manitoba, can we get a rally going in Ontario as well? Need to stand up to this madness and waste of taxpayer money. After that unhinged nonsense from Provost, I think it’s time we stand up and say no. She’s literally the mad queen out to punish us for her trauma.

News / Politics / Activism Is there a published list of all firearms submitted to the lab and current awaiting FRT evaluation?

With the recent two surprises that were both given NR status, I am wondering if there are any more waiting in the queue that could potentially see the same. Is this list published anywhere?

With the changes to the law, what was the cutoff that they had to be submitted to the lab by, 2024?

News / Politics / Activism Gun Grab Rally at Cambridge City Hall for KW/Guelph/Cambridge

I saw the other post about having rallies in every city and wanted to put this out there for anyone that’s in the area and interested. Last week I emailed my MP about the insane wait time for PAL applications(I was told to expect a 6 month wait from the 2-3 month point). I wanted to lend my voice to the call for more resources to be made available to the Chief Firearms Officer of Ontario so that they actually have the tools to do their job. She sent me the info about this rally in her reply, hope to see some of you guys there!

News / Politics / Activism Firearms Buyback Declaration Reopens for businesses APRIL 23 2026 - What could this mean for the Makasi MK-15?

https://www.canada.ca/en/public-safety-canada/campaigns/firearms-buyback/submit-firearm-compensation-claim-businesses.html

https://westcentralonline.com/articles/federal-firearms-compensation-program-reopens-for-businesses-april-23

I hope this is not the case, however could this somewhat sudden extension of the buyback scheme for businesses be a way of allowing the government to add more semi auto sporting rifles such as the MK-15 and others to the list that were not present with the original list?

The MK-15 is not even in the hands of legal gun owners yet. So my concern is that they may try and sneak a ban in at the last second to steal them from stores before they even reach shelves. The deadline for the buyback extension for dealers is early June which would somewhat add up with when the Makasi MK-15 is supposed to land for pre order buyers.

Please let me know your guys thoughts on this, I hope I am just being paranoid.

Thanks!

One of my favorite quotes of all time, liberties are rarely given back. I made gunowner friends from Australia and they all wished they had more guts when things came down to it.

Police come door to door in Australia to make sure everyone is complying with regulations, along with other massive overreach.

Stay strong boys and girls

News / Politics / Activism Firearm logistics

I understand the current state of law and regulations are not favourable to businesses in the firearms industry at the current time . Certain manufacturers have basically wrote off Canada. Now while I understand this from a business standpoint I don’t understand why certain retailers don’t recognize this and make more of an effort to combat this. So many things are perpetually out of stock or on special order. 85% of online stores and brick and mortar for that matter are constantly out of stock with no ETA on when that will change. I feel like we are living in a logistic 3rd world country in this industry. For example trying to find a ruger 10/22 with anything other than the absolute basic model or the black synthetic is nearly impossible without special order. This is an indication that they will sell out very quickly. So why never stock anything or give any real etas. I’ve talked to a few distributors and they do have the ability to make these orders still but are apprehensive . I know we’re limited on what we can own but stocking popular models isn’t even the norm anymore. Do you guys know anywhere across Canada that I can order things without a 6 week lead time ? This is getting ridiculous and the sport is dying from 2 ends. 1 being the government and 2 is the lack of supply from retailers. This is harming whatever we have left. This is my rant for now, I get it’s tough out there for everyone but these retailers are severely lacking on keeping things in stock. I just want a 10-22 carbon magpul, not asking for much.

News / Politics / Activism Spoke to Sask cfo office regarding asfcp

To sum it up

  1. Sask doesn’t support , and will not contribute resources or tax dollars to the federal confiscation scheme .Unless the feds come up with a way to collect firearms in Sask, none will be collected and shipped out. 2. The Sask exemption program allows people affected by the ban to have their item given a fair value , and they have tasked a professional to do this valuation. When the amnesty ends , owners with the exemption don’t need to worry and can keep their guns.
Owners are able to keep their property but basically not eligible for compensation unless the gov figures their shit out, and if that ever happens (unlikely) at least owners who are willing will have a document to say what their guns are worth at a fair price.

They , or at least the person I spoke to, share the sentiment of basically everyone on here. Most of this info is already public knowledge but it was a solid no in regard to participation in the program.

News / Politics / Activism Rally against the ASFC program in MB

Just wondering if anybody in Manitoba would be down to do a protest/rally against the compensation program and bans of the 2,500+ firearms or if anybody knows of any groups here in Manitoba actively fighting against the program/bans in general, I know me and my friends have become sick of the bans and want to do something. So far we’ve thought about just heading to the legislature on a weekday and hopefully someone will listen.

If you are one of the people who does not want to risk legal issues once you are backed into a corner with a prohibited firearm, this is a new way to keep that gun in your safe.

Essentially, SK has it's resident's backs on holding onto your property until the Feds pay you what is fair to take it. And, you are gambling on the Feds ever budgeting for fair payment. That gun can live a bit longer and potentially a lot longer.

Note that he mentioned other provinces contacting them. Reach out to your MLA and CFO to express interest.

I have made a few posts already asking people to help clean up Ghost PLUZ. Most people seem to be available on weekends so I’ve decided to go out this Saturday, May 23rd.

If you are in the Calgary area and would like to join, please DM me for a pin. Anytime throughout the day works.

Even if we can get a few people out there, I know it would make a huge difference.

Thank you to everyone in advance for your awesome contributions!

News / Politics / Activism Quebec had a really good turnout for the Gun Rights Protest. How do we get one in Montreal?

The title pretty much says everything, but I was thinking about how solid the turnout was for QC City, and it got me thinking why don't we do one in Montreal. It's a much larger population, and still in Quebec. How to these protests even get organized? I think it could be a much bigger turnout in a city like MTL.

News / Politics / Activism Community Building Comp?

Wanted to start a leaderboard or some kind of friendly competition that also benefits our community!

The idea: some kind of pinned megathread or leaderboard for how many new shooters we’ve brought into the sport. Any ideas are welcome too!

I got the idea recently as I’ve been thinking about how my personal shooting community has grown significantly.

In my personal circle I’ve managed to get 5 people into shooting in under a year. Either they’ve begun the process to acquire their PAL and RPALs or they’ve already bought their first firearm.

Would be cool to see how high we could pump those numbers up. It benefit small business in the sport shooting and hunting communities, as well as our safety course instructors.

Biggest bonus is that the more licenses and lawful firearms owners per capita we’ve got, the harder it is for government to continue pushing current gun control misinformation onto the public. Our voice grows and we gain more advocacy in the media, etc.

IMO, much of what we’ve suffered through politically was made possible because of the public’s lackadaisical response to the LPC’s post-2019 gun control and public safety agendas. Hard to make waves when nobody knows or cares about what’s going on, so every new shooter we get is another educated person who can spread the word and to serve as a constituent an MP needs to consider for reelection.

News / Politics / Activism Letter writing campaign / Email = Ontario

Post image

Hey folks, I think we need to start a letter writing campaign / email bombardment to Premier Ford asking for the same protections as Saskatchewan, we tried the letter campaign with the federal government but I think now we should compel our provincial leaders.

Saskatchewan is protecting its people, there’s no reason Ontario shouldn’t do the same. Let’s get those letters going!

News / Politics / Activism Lee Reloading no longer shipping to Canada.

I discovered this a few months ago when I tried to place a large order, I contacted Lee Support and they told me it was because of the previous postal Canada Service Interruption and told us they would enable shipping to Canada again, however I have tried to place my order multiple times and still no shipping options available to Canada. it's sad to see we have lost ability to order from Lee. Especially with heavy gouging by Canadian Resellers, a .30-06 Length Trim Pilot and Case holder is going to 45 CAD plus shipping when the retail directly from Lee is $8 USD.
