Hey folks, I think we need to start a letter writing campaign / email bombardment to Premier Ford asking for the same protections as Saskatchewan, we tried the letter campaign with the federal government but I think now we should compel our provincial leaders.
Saskatchewan is protecting its people, there’s no reason Ontario shouldn’t do the same. Let’s get those letters going!

I would be pleasantly surprised if Ford decided to follow Saskatchewan's footsteps.

What’s going on in Saskatchewan is OK, but it’s really not the solution. It’s just pulls the ladder up behind us.
The point isn’t to just let me keep my guns, but also to let my kids and their kids have responsible access to the same.
Grandfathering policies only delay the bullshit.

It’s not happening.
Carney was just elected in 2025, that puts his term 1 ending in 2029. Unless pollieve can pull off a miracle, he’s shown himself to be too unlikable for PM. The cons weren’t up because he was a great leader, they were only up because he wasn’t Trudeau.
Carney gets a second term, which is now a liberal government through 2034. At this point the guns are grabbed, the grandfather policies are in place.
So worst case 2034 we swing back to the cons. Guns are a minority issue with terrible optics. What incentive does an elected conservative government have to run with the story of “we’re increasing guns!”.
These bullshit policies need to be stamped out in the minds of those who would wish to enact them in the first place. There’s a tangible amount of naivety that comes with assuming the cons are going to come in and it’s ARs for everyone. They’re politicians too don’t forget.
Don’t get me wrong, what Saskatchewan is doing is very, very commendable in the efforts to push back against terrible policy. It’s a strong first step in the process but it’s ultimately not the final answer.

Call up his office and leave a message. I did that a couple weeks back and it was surprisingly easy. Couple days after he went on the news talking about how the gun grab was dumb. I would have preferred he mention how the bans were dumb too but I guess he just needs to hear it more. Let him know!
