Been shooting my P320 A LOT since getting the optic installed, and started running low on ammo. Tenda had a decent deal running on cases of 1000, which just arrived in time for the weekend.

Alright, here goes. 3rd firearm ever. Got it for 599 plus tax from gundealer. Chinese sks. Stock aint that bad. All numbers match except the bolt handle.

Growing up this was the only firearm ive seen being used the most around me and had my PAL only so i could own one(other reasons too but most prominent is this).

Touching my very own for the first time literally made me tear up and i cant exaggerate the feeling at all.

Who knows whats in store for tomorrow, rather buy one than cry for not being able to own one ever. Thanks to all you guys and gals for really kicking out my indecision and getting me convinced to get one.

Not very practical. I would call it more of a collectors piece lol.

Only spare optic I had was the Vortex venom 1-6.

I was hitting a 10 inch metal target at 100 yards…

3D printed prototype parts on a mild steel sheet "receiver". Buttstock definitely needs to be larger and a tad higher up.

Most measurements check out but there's still quite a few small things to fix here and there. Fit is solid inside the chassis with no rattling, but there's some gaps I'm not satisfied with

Picked her up today and near as I can tell the last she’s among the last 10 unissued pre-1965 factory 26 SKS rifles sold on the Canadian market, the remaining 8 being at Tenda. I’ve been waiting for this for a long time, can’t wait to clean her out and put some rounds through her.

Feets / Collection / My build A Couple of AUGs...

Two new arrivals today, courtesy of the April 2026 Switzer's Auction. I was bidding on the Green "Armee Universal Gewehr" (AUG), but by the time that the live auction rolled around, the Black version was still comparatively low-priced at just $1200. So I bid on both during the final minute and managed to win them for $1200 (Black) and $1300 (Green), plus the buyer's premium ($180 and $200). The condition of both rifles is 90% (+) with just a few small scratches in the Receiver paint of the Black version.

The polymer colour aside, both AUG rifles were identical when I received them. I added the Bayonet Lug and Australian Spare Magazine Pouch to the Green version and a Corvus Defensio Ejection Port Protector and Empty Casing Deflector to both rifles. This piece of hardware not only deflects empty casings away from Left-handed firers without need for a Left-hand Bolt, it also protects the rim of the Polymer Ejection Port. If the Gas system is set to adverse, the rifle will cycle too fast, resulting in empty casings f ailing to eject and instead cutting into the polymer at the front of the Ejection Port. The Corvus Defensio Ejection Port Protector and Empty Casing Deflector does an excellent job in both regards. Note that both rifles are fitted with the longer 5/42-round LMG Magazines rather than the 30-round version.

Provided that the fixed Length of Pull works for you, the AUG features excellent ergonomics across the board. Even the rather odd placement of the Magazine Catch behind the Magazine itself works quite well once you get used to the Thumb placement. The genuine AUG features a p;rogressive Trigger in lieu of a Selector Switch, where a short pull results in semi-automatic fire and a longer pull results in automatic fire. The AUG Trigger is often panned as a result of the rifle's polymer Trigger Components, however I personally find the AUG Trigger pull to be quite tolerable with a particularly crisp, clean break.

So anyhow, here they are, after a couple of months wait for the Registration Transfer...

Went to the range the other day and went through a few hundred rounds. One failure to fire on the first couple mags, that was it. Ran like a sewing machine.

Only had the red dot but was keeping it inside the x ring at 36 yards, which was not a limitation of the barrel, but my skill. Very fun little carbine.

Feets / Collection / My build Prohibited Cold War Assault Rifles

Following up the Cold War Battle Rifles, we have the Assault Rifles which were mostly developed as Western Forces adopted the intermediate 5.56mm cartridge in the 1960s, 70s and 80s. Of course, the Russians and their Soviet partners employed and further developed the venerable AK47 series throughout the entirety of the Cold War, starting out with their 7.62x33 intermediate cartridge and later transitioning to the lighter 5.45mm round. In chronological order they are:

- Russian State Arsenals AK-47 Type 2 (1951-1957)

- Russian State Arsenals AKMS (1957-1974)

- USAF Colt Model 601 clone (1962-1965)

- USAF Colt GAU-5/S "Son Tay Raider" carbine clone (1966-1995)

- Harrington & Richardson / Heckler & Koch T223 / HK33 rifle (1964-1966 / 1968-2001)

- Israeli Military Industries Galil Assault Rifle and Machinegun (ARM) (1972-2000)

- Fabrique Nationale Carbine (FNC) (1979-1999)

- Colt Canada C8 carbine (1986-2006)

- SIG 550 / Swissarms "Classic Green" (1990-present)

- Heckler & Koch G36E (1996-Present)
