Feets / Collection / My build One of the Guns of All Time.

Post image

This certainly is one of the guns of all time. Custom built 6mm PPC Railgun. 20" Barrel. 1:14 twist. Pretty neat thing to fall into my lap.

What in the backyard machinist is that?

Whoa whoa whoa. This is far more autism than just a backyard gamer.

Are we sure you aren't just 2 guys in a shed?

God dammit, when I first read railgun, I thought you built something powered by magnets.

Also, hearing 6mm PPC made me wonder if it's possible to make a handheld version of a particle projection cannon used by battlemechs.

Nerd references aside, yours is probably the most rifle looking 6mm PPC rail gun I've seen. Most other setups I've seen are literally a tube mounted onto a block with clamps.

China apparently has them now. Read some article last week

Buddy here must have giant alien hands to be using that thumbhole stock. What are you? A Sanghelli Elite from Halo?

And you know what? I don't hate it. It looks like a prop assassins rifle from an 80s cyberpunk movie

Are you trapped in an N64?

Sharpen the rear so you can chop "lumber"

Why?

Taofledermaus did a video on them. It’s like super mega precision shooting. They put these things on sleds and can put like a 10 round string of fire into one hole.

Like, are you talking about a 6mm PPC with a 20” barrel and a 1:14 twist rate specifically gave that accuracy?

7

u/MoosedMilk Apr 15 '26

Yeah. A rifle similar to this won a world record in 2019 in Calgary for a 5 round .11" group.

Well shit, guess I’ll get 2 new credit cards.

Almost looks exactly like the texture didn't render.

That is certainly the strangest looking gun I’ve seen on here in a while. Nice 😎

Every gun made so far, and every gun that is not yet made but will be, is a gun of all time...

What is this thing? Im intrigued by shiny things....

3

u/MoosedMilk Apr 15 '26

Its basically designed to optimally shoot tight groups at 300m an under. Shooting a 40-70gr 6mm Bullet in a very efficient case.

Looks like something a Jane's bond villain would use. Hahaha

"Good byyyyyyye, Mr. Bond."

Looks about as comfortable to shoot as a cactus with a barrel attached to it...

u/I_Automate Apr 15 '26

These things usually don't even have a stock. Just an action clamped to a lead sled

u/rcanguns87 Apr 15 '26

Single shot with bolt handle on the opposite side of the ejection port or am I just not seeing it right?

1

u/MoosedMilk Apr 15 '26

Very common in bench / F Class shooting!

1

u/rcanguns87 Apr 16 '26

Interesting certainly did not know that

1

u/Crossed_Cross Apr 15 '26

Are you sure that's not a knife?
