Man, this rifle is the embodiment of the firesrm policy in Canada. Men forced to dress up .22's like this to scratch an itch

Watching all those parts and accessories just rot in your safe just makes you want to take them and do something with it! I miss building rifles...

I hear that man. Im glad your making the best of it. Those are sweet accessories

All that time and money hunting down Diemaco furniture and parts and getting an Elcan... At least I can use them and dream it's still on my SA20

Man i feel your pain. I have barrels and optics specifically that are worth thousands, just sitting there collecting dust. It kills me. I have three entire OCW load ladders waiting to be shot that were loaded two days before the ban. It’s taken me this long to get into my gun room and clean it. A pretty depressing experience.

I’ve started to hit the long range stuff recently, and it’s been nice. But deep down I wonder how long it’ll be until my “sniper rifles” are vilified and put in some retarded list.

This country is utterly failing on so many fronts.

Man that sucks. At least though you have found something, a new niche to keep you busy. I've never shot lever or bolt actions before so getting into that has been cool, I guess?

Fair. The long range game was always secondary to 3-gun and IPSC for me. It was just for a good time, and an excuse to go get out into the bush and do stuff, but it was never really a “passion”. So I’m happy that I can still compete via IPSC. But i REALLY miss 3-gun. And to think that all of this is just so some douchebags can manipulate ignorant people into thinking they’re the knight in shining armour makes me so very angry!

i am glad you are having fun but fuck man this is painful. this is where we are right now.

It's fucking sad. And not fun at all lol. Taking the stuff off my AR was quite painful and it's sad to look at it's butchered form. Actually I had it all on an AR. Then that was banned. Moved it all to a Raven build, then that was banned. Now this is what I'm left with

RCMP is frantically writing up a new draft to ban this right now 🤣

I kinda dig it. C8A22 should be the name of it

The sad rifle of the Canadian gun owners Army

u/Geralt-of-Rivai Mar 08 '26

Thanks man. Gotta do what we can these days if we want to keep using the useless parts we have !

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

5

u/Geralt-of-Rivai Mar 08 '26

I think you have to cry first, get that out. Then laugh about it

4

u/FedInformant Mar 08 '26

No doubt, im jelly!

parts list? Might make one as a funny gift

5

u/Geralt-of-Rivai Mar 08 '26

Diemaco pistol grip, Diemaco tri rail, Cadex picatinny rail, Cadex folding grip, Insight M3X weapon light. Elcan C79 optic, RMR on an Arisaka canted mount, CAR15 style stock... I think that's about it?

5

u/Geralt-of-Rivai Mar 08 '26

Oh, TNA reverse fake can

TMC7-22. Not too bad looking actually.

u/Nesquik1918 Mar 08 '26

Gun laws aside and the fact we're in this position.. this actually looks awesome! By far one of the best looking TM22 builds IMO!

3

u/Geralt-of-Rivai Mar 08 '26

Thank you sir. It is quite sad but we do what we can

2

u/DougMacRay617 Mar 08 '26

Is this built on the all polymer versions?

4

u/Geralt-of-Rivai Mar 08 '26

Yeah that's right, it's the TM22 Feather. As soon as I saw it with the clamshell handguards I immediately thought, I'm going to take my AR C7 clone parts and put it on this thing lol

3

u/DougMacRay617 Mar 08 '26

Lmfao well im glad the parts found a new home. Im sad they had to leave their old one.

2

u/Infinite_Price_3550 Mar 08 '26

This is cool/sad! Tragic that this is what you have to put your Elcan on as they are such cool unique optics that are impossible to find too. Where did you find your if you don’t mind me asking?

2

u/Geralt-of-Rivai Mar 08 '26

This old timer on CGN was selling everything he owned and was moving to the US. He had two C79s but just the optic tubes, no mount or covers. So I took a flyer on them for a really good deal. Over time I gradually acquired two mounts and covers, which took a long time. Sold one and kept one.

u/CryptidWorks CryptidWorks Mar 08 '26

Oh man that optic looks nice on the TM-22. Might have to start looking for one.

2

u/Geralt-of-Rivai Mar 08 '26

I think I saw one on Gunpost not too long ago but the guy was asking like 1200$ for it which is ridiculous. If you can get one at a decent price I'd say go for it! I even found a place online to replace the tritium so I have a new one in there

2

u/Fit_Fuel_6515 Mar 12 '26

Beautiful, can you give me a parts breakdown? I wanna do a similar build. And is this the 22 Feather or Metal/Flash?

2

u/Geralt-of-Rivai Mar 12 '26

I used the Feather because it already had the retro handguards. I have an Elcan c79 optic, RMR on a canted Arisaka mount. Cadex ODG folding grip, Cadex pic rail for clamshell handguards. TNA reverse fake can, Diemaco trirail, grip and CAR15 style stock. The stock was tricky to get in the commercial size, most are mil-spec so that was tricky to get because the buffer tube is commercial. Then just a Surefire M3X weapon light

1

u/Fit_Fuel_6515 Mar 13 '26

I don't have the spare change to make that, as of yet, so I'll make a rinky-dink rendition lol... I just wish the c79 came in black.

Also, do you have the extended mags/ cool magazine sleeves?

1

u/WeightedDips95 Mar 08 '26

Jesus Cristo… Dio sangre

1

u/SuperSidney376 Mar 08 '26

I love it! Gonna have to consider getting a TM-22…

1

u/ComradeGordgiev Mar 08 '26

where did you get that ELCAN

2

u/Geralt-of-Rivai Mar 08 '26

CGN a few years ago. Old guy was moving to the States and was selling all his gun stuff. Had two Elcan C79 optic tubes, grabbed them and then spent a lot of time sourcing some mounts and the covers, took over a year to complete the two. Sold one and kept one

1

u/ComradeGordgiev Mar 09 '26

damn lucky, all i have is a crappy airsoft replica

1

u/Eisenbahn-de-order Mar 08 '26

Oh my god I think I'm gonna vomit 🤢

3

u/IPSC_Canuck Mar 08 '26

If you do, make sure you direct all of the puke towards your ridings Liberal MP or candidate and their supporters.

3

u/Geralt-of-Rivai Mar 08 '26

My apologies

0

u/Immediate_Magician62 Mar 08 '26

God I love those elcans. How hard are they for you to get up there? I know nothing of the Canadian surplus market

2

u/Geralt-of-Rivai Mar 08 '26

They are very hard to find even here. You used to be able to get them from a shop called Nordic Marksman that sold a lot of Canadian Army gear but that well dried up years ago. Now you can find one pop up on Gunpost or CGN once and a while but for a lot of dough

0

u/Immediate_Magician62 Mar 08 '26

Damn, thats rough. As an American I've always been mad jealous. Canada's c7 and c8 is peak AR. Those elcans just complete the picture.

1

u/Geralt-of-Rivai Mar 08 '26

C7 and C8 are really amazing rifles. I believe Army guys for the most part hate the C79 lol. It's a great optic, but it's heavy, has poor eye relief and can be a pain to zero. But it's built like a tank. You could probably find an M145 in the US surplus I would imagine, it's the equivalent you guys used to use on your 240s. Not in the nice Canadian Army green though

Ooorahs in hoser.
