I know so many people who said they were stupid and pointless and then they all cried once they couldn’t get one made me laugh Glad I got a shadow 2, s&w 629 44mag, Glock 17, Glock 21, couple browning buckmarks, cz p10f, and a gsg 1911

🇨🇿💪😎 vz61 is one of the funniest guns to shoot, i have one for self defense. Not that i would ever plan on using škorpion for self defense but since im not a sport shooter i cant legally own it for anything else but for self defense

Only allowed to own a firearm for self defense, what a wild concept hahaha I really like how Czechia regulates their firearms, its a vastly better system than what we have here at the moment

Well its bit more complicated than that, its due to scorpion being semiautomatic firearm converted from full auto and stupid eu requires all its countries to demand proof of reason to own it, these guns can be legally owned for various reasons but like i have mentioned you need a proof that you are sport shooter. So in cz we got around it by making it a constitutional right to use guns for self defense and thanks to that, authorities cant legally deny you the right to own it or carry it and they are prohibited to anyhow question the validity of that reason, law even says that you cant be denied possesion of a firearm for self defense even if the "self defense" reason is found to be untrue.
Edit: but firearms that were originally manufactured as semiauto can be still owned without any proof of reason and "hobby shooting" is a perfectly valid reason to buy whatever gun, but still self defense is the most popular since its just the easiest thing to say

Seems perfectly reasonable to me, you have an armed population thats well regulated and relatively little gun crime, it's obviously working quite well with your current regulations which is fantastic, I just wish we could implement something similar here

🥲I used to see a gun shop sell the vz61 with a nice discount price, but I was crazy on saving money for those cool black rifles. So now I don't have the cool black rifle and don't have cool cold war pistol, too

Ah thats brutal man, if its any consolation my prohibs just sit there now not doing anything, at least you could put the cash towards something you could still take out and shoot haha
2
u/GinnAdvent Aug 06 '26
Lol, I have the exact same set up.
Glock 17 Gen 4 MOS, and the Vz61 chambered in 380 ACP instead.
At least I can still use the 380 ACP with my Bersa Thunder, lol
1
u/Eire1995 Aug 06 '26
A man of fine tastes I see haha The Bersa is a little beauty! Do you have any optics mounted on your Glock?
2
u/GinnAdvent Aug 06 '26
Haha, nope. I actually prefer the look of it without any optic on it, but perhaps I should try it.
Gotta live the 007 fantasy with them Bersa, it's not a Walther PPK, but it's as close as it can be, lol.

I do too, I just suck with irons haha Larp around the house in a 3 piece suit and a martini glass 😂
2
u/GinnAdvent Aug 06 '26
I try to get good with iron, but I don't go enough to make any difference.
I did talk to another Redditor on here who got a new M17 slide for his Sig P320, and he added an optic on it and he already notice a significant difference.
If Glock with iron is hard, then Bersa is even harder, lol. But yes, I can larp it with some soda and feel quite spyish about it, lol. Due to busy work schedule, the best I can do now is take them out and admire them from time to time, haha.

.32 Auto.... That should have been prohib since .... forever? Like 90s?
What do you use it for?
2
u/Eire1995 Aug 05 '26
The Skorpion only just got banned in 2024, you might be thinking of the small caliber pistols that were banned in the 90's, but the Vz.61 is classified as a rifle so was available up until 2024.
Don't use it for much now, mostly just looking and fondling haha
3
u/Sad-Stop-2401 Aug 05 '26
No, I meant, .32 caliber has been banned since 90s, right?
1
u/Eire1995 Aug 05 '26
Nope, still fairly readily available, my local store has quite a bit in stock
2
u/Sad-Stop-2401 Aug 05 '26
Wow! may be i am missing something in legal terms. NVM!
2
u/Eire1995 Aug 05 '26
No worries man, the regulations are all a convoluted mess to navigate anyway haha
2
u/GinnAdvent Aug 06 '26
That's interesting, I knew they were originally chambered in 32 ACP, but then assume that Canada only import the 380 ACP and 22lr variety.
Is .32 harder to get ammo for?
1
u/Eire1995 Aug 06 '26
No sir, they had a run of .380, .22 and .32 around summer of 2024 if I remember the date correctly.
Not too hard no, I've been able to get .32 at two of my local stores here in Calgary reliably.
2
u/GinnAdvent Aug 06 '26
Ah, ok, since I only saw the 380ACP and 22lr variety at 2 different venders at the time, so I assume 32acp never made it.
Maybe someday, the Vz61 can see the light again!

u/Eire1995 Aug 06 '26
Yeah there was definitely a few but I don't think they ever shipped in big numbers though, I'd love to put some rounds through it again, fingers crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I still enjoy seeing guns I can't get anymore, they're still cool to see, I haven't gotten any .22s yet, I'd like to though

u/Master-Editor2668 Aug 05 '26
Get the conversation kit for it I got one for my Glock 21 feels like a BB gun weight but it’s fun as hell
1
u/Eire1995 Aug 05 '26
Didn't even realize that was an option, I'll definitely look into that now!
2
u/Master-Editor2668 Aug 05 '26
They are cheap for the Glock 21 for some reason the 17 will run you about 400$ but worth it Advantage arms is what I got and it’s pretty sweet comes in a nice case with cleaning tools

u/Eire1995 Aug 05 '26
