Feets / Collection / My build Broke the 10/22 build in
Went to the range the other day and went through a few hundred rounds. One failure to fire on the first couple mags, that was it. Ran like a sewing machine.
Only had the red dot but was keeping it inside the x ring at 36 yards, which was not a limitation of the barrel, but my skill. Very fun little carbine.

Thanks buddy. With the current laws, this is honestly my most fun rifle to shoot.

How's the barrel length work on these? Whas the difference between this and a charger?

OAL for rimfire just needs to be over 26” to remain NR. Barrel length doesn’t matter. Chargers are pistols based on manufacturer.

As long as it's 26" OAL after any folding or telescoping is taken into account it's NR (ie stock folded or collapsed it's over 26"). Barrel length alone doesn't matter for rimfires.

If the stock is just on by picatinny wouldn't it need to be permanently secured with a weld or something? Genuine question.

No. As long as it’s not easily removed. That adapter requires the buffer tube to be removed to be taken off.

The one thing with this i ram into when building my 22lr crypto is that there really isn't a definition for how to measure over all length for rimfires, its just kind of missing. Like does it have to be to the end of the barrel, or does a muzzle device count.
Like my rifle the hand guard was longer than the barrel but it was 26 inches over all, and then it had a faux can that screwed on inside the barrel. I had to call the CFO a few times to get confirmation and they really never could five me a definitive answer.

So unless your go down to less than legal pistol length barrels, just don’t even think about barrel length. As long as the OAL from tip of firearm to most collapsed or folded position on the stock is 26” or greater, you are NR. That includes muzzle devices, hand guards or anything else on the muzzle side of the gun.

As long as it can't be easily removed by hand without tools it'll count as permanently affixed.

It really amazes me how many 10/22 chassis there are out on the market. Sick build!

I have a stupid question. Why is the optic so far forward? Thanks in advance
3
u/ShootyMcGun May 11 '26
Not a stupid question. It’s all preference. But with red dots you are supposed shoot with both eyes open, so field of view staring through the optic is not happening. Because of this, the further forward it’s placed the less the optic is in your way visually. Your other open eye provides the field of view, so to speak, if that makes any sense.

That AR stock is a bit much but if it doesn't put too much weight on that lil frame I like it a lot

I’m working on a super similar build. Where’d you get the barrel? I can’t for the life of me find any

I think the barrel was here click and the bolt was from dlask before they shut down shop.
