Soon, they are already using them to shoot drones. Just need to shrink a tad

Love my ruger ranch. So accurate for the price

Yeah it is and pretty quick too. Not Lee Enfield quick, but close enough to do a mad minute with. Had a Mossberg MVP patrol as well. Though the Mossberg looks cooler, there are somethings with it that just made me go "What the fack Mossberg?".

I feel that the Ruger is probably more accurate than I'm capable of being. Definitely a great purchase

What's the caliber for the RAR?

Good optic and magnification for the Ruger American?

Came off my other Ruger Ranch rifle. She took it off before she jumped out of the boat.....

I have a Bushnell at optics 4.5-18 on mine and it's great for the price. Surprisingly good honestly. Though I'm looking for something a little lighter and nicer, maybe illuminated, but haven't found anything better yet.

My stock S&W grips broke at the threaded insert. I'd recommend upgrading your S&W 586 grips to something more durable (I went with Hogue monogrips).

I will keep that in mind. What I'd like actually is a set of nice rose wood grips that fill out the back. I have a set of G-10 ones but they don't fit my hands very well.

I've heard good things about Amazon sellers based on Thailand, which has a bit of a gun culture. Wood grips are also easily modified or refinished if necessary.
But yeah, I was unpleasantly surprised when the OEM grips just fell apart, thankfully not while firing it.

It's odd how the G-10 grips that I have (got the pistol from my buddy..... he had them installed) are like a birds head style but are not comfortable to shoot, yet my actual birds head grip SAA in 357 is fine.
I definitely want a set of squar but wood ones that fit the 686.

Once theyre available I'm thinking about doing something similar with the ruger american scout, minus the pistol unfortunately :( great setup!

Well if you just want to do stuff for photos you can always get a good quality air pistol. But I do understand what you are saying. Change will come though Brother, change will come.

I like it a lot. a problem I see with those cowboy rig belts the cartridge loops are always located in the back. I like them in the front

Well considering it's actually for my SAA with is also in 357 and SAA are not the quickest on the reload, the design makes sense. Also imagine being up in a saddle on a horse with rounds at the front.

I wish I got to keep my green gortex. I still have my TW one but the OD green is better for Civvie life. I also still have the old denim style one.
1
u/BigKWE Mar 04 '26
Oh I didn't get to keep it. This one was bought at a surplus store and needed a repair to make it properly serviceable.
2
u/DecentComposer545 Mar 05 '26
When they flipped to the TW ones I begged to keep my OD on but they filtered down to the Reserves and Cadet world.
If I could find a decent one at surplus I would

NO! 1. It's a bolt gun, so no mag limit. 2. The cross mags were/are marketed as pistol mags. Sadly non-pinned AR mags are by name classified as prohibited so all I can run is a max of 10 unless I use a mag made for a different caliber that happens to hold 5.56 rounds properly.....

Right. Cause when shit goes down you're gonna defend our country with a goretex vest, bolt action Ruger and Bowie knife.

If you believe you are defending your country by joining the military that’s the biggest LARP of them all.

If america does decide it wants Canada were fucked. With or without the neck beard reddit heroes.
Not sure why you're getting political. I didn't mention Carney.

It's giving Fallout New Vegas vibes. Nice "rugger"!
