It has a OAL of 26" and a barrel length of 8" so I don't see why it wouldn't be available in Canada because it would be legal as NR

I have an antique Gras infantry rifle that was converted to a 12 gauge shotgun sometime in the 1890s, it was my great grandfathers duck gun. 2 weeks ago my brother used it to kill himself. It’s currently in OPP custody. I’m torn between letting the cops keep/destroy a family heirloom versus keeping something that is a stark reminder of the worst day of my life, my father understandably never wants to see it again and my other brother wants to keep it and destroy it himself

Has anyone recently applied for a non-resident pistol permit out of New Hampshire? I know they were issuing them to Canadians years ago, but when I reached out, I was told to contact them again at a later date because their legal department is doing some sort of review.

I’m kicking myself right now. So about a month ago SFRC had a big sale where the 18” Derya went on sale for $499 and I jumped at it, but now I’m trying to figure out hand guard BS to get the faux suppressor on it.

I hadn't been to a Sail in years and was in the area so I stopped in. Some decent hunting gear there, and a large selection of guns, but like 90% bolt action rifles. Figured I'd grab some ammo. Grabbed 2 boxes of Challenger 12g buckshot, and a box of Blazer .22lr. Wanted to grab some 7.69x39 but they only had fancy Hornaday stuff for like $2 a shot.. Definitely not somewhere I'd shop regularly, but I almost forgot they existed.. Surprised I never hear them mentioned here at all.. Anybody here shop at Sail? Any reason not to?

As I mentioned in a previous post, I recently purchased my first firearm, a Ruger 10/22. I’ve seen mixed opinions online about whether or not a gun fresh out of the box needs to be cleaned and lubricated. Some people say they’ve had no problems shooting it right away without doing anything to it.

What are your thoughts?

Recently purchased an ss-211 cos its hilarious, but my best option for something short enough/with enough punch to stop a Grizzly. I live in a fairly small town in BC, and we are lucky enough to be surrounded by crown land however, there are a shit ton of grizzlies and with the amount of close calls/time I spend outside I figured something besides bear spray would be a good investment. My question is this:

Is it safe to carry this thing loaded with safety on in a belt holster? If not, what are some other options/safe bets that allow reasonable deployment time as well as a safe carry option when hiking through rugged terrain.

There used to be a great site where you could search for an item and it would give you at which stores the item was available. It was fantastic for finding the best prices for ammunition. The last few times I tried to use the website it was down for some reason. This was a couple years ago now and Im wondering if anyone remembers the website and if its back up and running!

I'm deciding between a howa 1500, Weatherby vanguard, savage 110, and Winchester xpr.

Anyone have any recommendations? Also scope recommendations?

Ok so found something kinda wild. They now have chassis kits for the 10/22 that turns it into a P90.

Now, we know bullpup conversions are illegal, but is the P90 a bullpup? It’s a genuine question I have as it’s really kinda a unique design on its own. Also, I thought maybe we got some kind of exception given we are talking rimfire and it already has other exemptions for it.

What do we think?

It’s wild to think that two years ago around this time I finished building a 22LR upper for my Raven.

‘Only’ managed to get around 3,000rds through it before it was deemed to “assault rifley” for use.

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t find it a little bit like torture having this thing locked away never to be used again for god knows how long.

Those of us who paid ATRS in full for a product, yet never received any material goods or were issued a refund, would anyone be interested in a potential collective legal action?

It sucks they've shut their doors, but not refunding us is shady af and I will be discussing our options with a lawyer come Monday.

After receiving a lot of feedback and advice from members here I’ve decided to purchase an SKS (French tickler variant) as a birthday gift from me to me.

Since these SKS variants are sold out online the only place I was able to find one was on Gunpost, however it is located in Ottawa and I am located in Montreal.

Hence.. I’ll be having it shipped to me. I’m supposed to be having a video verification call with the seller later today.

Because this is the first time I buy a firearm online, I was wondering if the community has any tips to stay safe in the transaction (I.e. should I not send a photo of my PAL/ only show it on the video call? Should I be asking for COD through Canada post? I understand it’s not the norm)

Press the button while pulling empty magazine locks action open like the previous iteration, however now after inserting a new magazine you can push the button backward to release the bolt, and actually chamber a fresh round. Need some more tweaking on the ergonomics though

So I found a really good deal on a gun that Sporteque has listed up on their site. I would have to do shipping since I'm in Ontario and their store is in Quebec.

I generally shoot, clean, and put my guns away so any help on what to do with the wood stock would be great.

Im wanting to buy some 300prc ammo and came across Londero sports. Everyone else is charging $60-$75 for shipping via UPS or Purolator but these guys are $20 flat rate. I even emails them and they confirmed thays correct. Has anyone dealt with them before? I live in Southern Ont.

Hi all, newer PAL holder here.

After going hunting with some acquaintances last year, I decided to pursue it myself. Have my PAL, outdoors card and have purchased a shotgun.

My wife didn't really seem bothered by the whole process until I got the gun. She'd prefer its not in the house, which i can accept. The gun club here has a year plus waiting list so storage there is not an option right now even if they do offer it. Are there any storage options that would allow reasonable access?

Perhaps a responsible private storage option (for a fair fee)?

UPDATE. Thanks for ideas guys. I incorporated a few into this mornings discussion and I at least bought some time. Very redundant security in separate area, giving her a part to hide, made a couple more promises about personal commitments.
Her main concern is my adhd son. Goal is to not let him know about it until he's mature enough to understand repercussions of talking about my guns.
