Misc Is Black Creek Labs still making commercial firearms?

Was hoping to get my hands on a Bison in 5.56 this year, but it seems like everywhere is sold out, and the BCL site is down (for me at least). Anyone have any info on this?

It looks like they might be rebranding again, the link to their website say "NEXT Dynamics" on google

Edit: yeah, googling next dynamics shows the SRV2 on their website.

Edit 2: it looks like next dynamics has existed for a while, and Rob MacIntyre has been the CEO since last year, so he probably just offloaded BCL into it.

Third name change, but same shitty products.

It looks like they're getting out of the civilian market

They've been marketing the full auto SRV2 Skunkbear and Badger since like what, 2021? I guess they landed 0 military contracts in the last 5 years.

If they did it wouldn't be for a western nation, the AR18 was always designed for cheap production

The original AR-18 was designed for cheap production as it was a stamped gun with looser tolerances. Modern AR-18 derived piston guns are milled and are no easier to make than an AR-15, which humankind has perfected them down to such a degree that a $400 Norinco CQ is still reliable.

On the other hand, stamped AR-18s only made sense for military mass-production in order to neutralize the tooling costs via economy of scale.

The only reason they made AR-18 based designs was to comply with our dumb laws. It was more expensive to do that than making AR-15s.

Yeah i got stuck with their old shitty NEA AR 15. Absolute pile of shit

They can change their names however many times they want, it won't change the fact that they sold assault rifles to terrorists and made the headlines lol

To be completely fair they never sold firearms to the PKK, the PKK was seizing firearms shipments left and right between 07-16.

Hence why Turkey issued a warning with supplying firearms across the border without security personnel.

Still funny that they managed to export them, knowing how bad NEA's products are lol

Or they could be freedom fighters?

PKK is a terrorist group recognized by Canada and NATO.

I guess I'm just old, but since when is Reddit supporting the Kurds and call them "freedom fighters"?

I’m not petitioning the gov to revoke that classification. At least you understand who the Kurdish people are so that’s a positive. Your whole point was: “some bad guys got these guns, therefore the gun maker is bad.” I guess Barrett and McMillan are bad too, by your way of thinking? I mean, you even said: “sold guns to them” which is an incorrect statement per the very article you posted….

I just found it amusing that NEA's shitty products made it to the news headlines in the wildest way possible. No need to look that deep.

Thanks for correcting me that they, indeed, did not directly sell guns to them.

Unserious lol

I've been wondering this too. I was eyeing them. I have seen one or two shops seemingly offering them on backorder stilll, but that might just be a error on their part. I wouldn't necessarily want to buy a gun from a shutdown company because replacing parts could get really tricky if anything breaks. They're neat guns though. Hard to find a scout/short barreled 223 right now, everywhere is sold out of stuff like RAR Ranch, MVP Patrol, BCLs, etc.

Phone around to your local Canadian tires, I got a Gen 1 on sale that was hiding behind the counter

Yup stock is low everywhere.  I grabbed a cz 600 trail to get that rail and 16 inch barrel.

Blc I think is the only one who offers 12.5 inch barrels

Your better off without any product from bcl

Based on this, it sounds like NEXT Dynamics bought BCL and owns the rights to their small arms

Technologies, Manufacturing & Distribution By way of the BCL assets acquisition, Next Dynamics owns the following state-of-the-art military technologies and assets: • Firearms: Manufacturing rights for pistols, the SRV2 Badger semi-automatic rifle, and the Bolt Action Rifle. o Examples include: High Light Reconnaissance Vehicle, a cutting-edge tactical vehicle designed for high

No problems with my mrx bison in 223.

I’ve got an MRX Bronco Howitzer .223 wylde and I feel pretty darn privileged and lucky to have scored one, new retail, in 2026. Don’t care what anyone else thinks , I’ve put a couple hundred rounds through mine and it’s been flawless. Made in Canada. Beautiful!

How the heck did you find one? I've been looking everywhere for months :(

1

u/NeruLight Mar 27 '26

I was basically just googling every day until I saw one pop up. Same with Ruger X-22. The moment I saw one for sale I got in my car and drove fast 😂. The CZ Trail is the closest thing that I can think of to one of these that’s easier to find (but can’t fold down to 20”!). Alternately you could settle for a longer barrel BCL. Out of all my stuff this is the one my American friends think is the coolest one 😎

u/RudeGolden Mar 27 '26

Can you pls PM me where you found it so I can stalk them?

I have an mrx bison its a 5.56 18 inch barrel and its a sub moa gun at 200 yards my range dont go farther or i would push it

1

u/NeruLight Apr 22 '26

That is really solid! I’m not a particularly good shooter, so it does everything I need it to (look real cool, function, hit paper.) 😆 I feel like people sleep on these. When I’m in the gun shops and I see one I think “dang that looks so great.” I’ve got a friend in the states with a big collection and access to so much, and he thinks the little MRX is cool and I just beam with pride hehe

Great gun really its not a sniper rifle.by any means but they shoot decent.

I wanted one in 300 blackout but was unable to locate one

That’s a pity if they’re out, was hoping to pick up one of their rifles soon, they looked fun.
