Misc Are the sights on Derya DYPA12 9mm adjustable for elevation and windage? What height of mounts and what red dot might be a good fit for fun range use under 50 yards?
Appreciate any input. Thanks all. Shoot safe and have fun this weekend.

Since this is your first gun, don't spend too much on a dot. Vortex crossfire or even a cheap Amazon feyachi will work fine.

😄 Definitely not my first gun, just trying to find out where to start my search for mounts/dots. Thanks though. I'll look at the Vortex brand.

If you have astigmatism you can also go for the Primary Arms, SLx 1X MicroPrism. I have one and it's my favourite 1x but it is double the price of the cheap vortex.

Yeah, I have astigmatism. It's a real pain some days. I'm considering putting an LPVO on it using QD mounts and leaving the factory iron sights on it. That way, with a quick switch, I can practice with irons or LPVO.

That actually sounds pretty good. I'm in my late 40s with astigmatism so I have lpvo on a couple rifles. The etched reticles as well as the magnification really does help. How do you like the gun by the way?

Ha ha. The gun arrives late this week. Might be able to shoot it on the weekend. I have an ammo order in at Basspro that I can pick up in a day or two. I found a sale, so bought 100 rounds of each of 3 brands. I'll definitely post after shooting as it seems that I'm one of the guinea pigs for this gun. Wish me luck. 🤞🤞

Oh and to answer your other question. Just looking at the picture, it has a knob on the rear sight which should be windage adjustment, and the front sight looks to have the elevation adjustment knob. Have fun and good luck. I wish more 9mm "pcc" get release eventually

Bad advice
Spend as much as you can within your budget on optics
They are literally how you hit the target - effectively your eyes. Don’t cheap out on optics, but don’t *over* do it

It's a 9mm pump. You don't need an eotech on that. But if you got the cash do whatever you want.

Cheap but tried and trueThat should be the standard when approaching any optic. Get something within your best budget ability and is reliable.
I don’t see why folks want to spend $30-40 on a red dot just to upgrade it.

I said crossfire, then mentioned a cheaper alternative in case they were on a tight budget. You gave a blanket "bad advice" even though I mentioned vortex crossfire and now you are saying it's fine. Maybe that's why the downvotea are warranted. I run a full gambit of optics in terms of price and quality and they all have their place.

Downvotes came from people thinking I suggest people put $1k optics on their Turkish pump cope or cant read
Strangers don’t let others get Amazon airsoft optics for their firearms. Always bad advice.

Yea what kind of distances are you even shooting with a 9mm pump? Hopefully no more then 50 yards.

Go into whatever gun store is local to you (a Cabelas/Bass Pro if possible) and see if they have a $70 TruGlo brand red dot, should hold up to 9mm without suffering recoil death, might not be the best clarity wise for glass but it should work for close range like you want

Just checked one out irl at sfrc, it's cool but felt like a bb gun when you racked it. It sounds super plastic-y

Yeah, hoping it will be fun at the range and shooting 9mm is cheap but my expectations aren't high. I considered getting a Troy PAR. Got a chance to use a buddy's and it was fn horrible from the action to the trigger. Wobbly foregrip and the trigger sear may have been made of rocks. For $1600??? No thanks. So I'll get this plinker. My TM22 is really well built, for the price. For $820 these days what can I expect?

Definitely interested to see how they perform. If they had the shorty I probably would have bought it. The lever 9mm they're bringing in looks neat too but 1600usd is nuts

Vortex triumph is honnestly amazing for the price. Of course its not the best dot on the market but for 160$ it has shake awake and 50k hours battery life. Perfect for plinking guns
