I am mostly looking for a good goose gun, but if it's also an all rounder, great!
My FiL has a 20ga mossberg 500, I've heard that it's not really enough for geese.
I've been going down separate rabbit holes, comparing pros and cons, different price points, etc...
So as much as I love the 'vibe' and simplicity of an O/U, I don't know if it would be quick enough for snow geese. I am relatively flexible with my budget, but I would like to stick around $1000.
I thought about semi-autos, beretta a300 or winchester sx4. Then my main question, the pro and cons of a semi auto vs a pump, is it better to get a good pump shotgun or a semi-automatic?
The main use for this shotgun would be for shooting geese in the farmers field where I live. Mostly Canadian goose, but also the odd straggle group of ross/snow geese.
I'd also be using it for practicing skeet/trap shooting. And maybe using lighter loads for rabbit and hare (which is why I know I'd need to spend more on the semi-auto).
TL;DR: What action, brand, price point- shotgun is the best bang for the buck?

I'm mostly a manual action kind of guy but thought this would be a fun rifle to spin up some designs around until I finally get time to take it out to the range.
Base rifle is a 12" TM22 Pro
Barrel shroud, handguard top pic rail, foregrip, charging handle and custom magazine are designed by yours truly and printed in a mix of ASA and PETG.
Magazine holds 20rnds (pretty tightly), so far I've successfully tested feeding with only dummy rounds, since I'm not going to chamber live ammo in the house. I'm still working on refining the design.
Beavertail grip is the KaborDevices KD2 3D printed grip
MLOK SBI-like rail covers are also 3D printed.
Gideon Optics Mediator mounted so I can access all three top rail screws for cleaning.

Howdy Folks!
The Texan is back with yet another gun appreciation post, this time with something of a distant memory, aka Pre-2020 times, back when you used to be able to get an AR-15 platform or lower before they were prohibited.
Now this one isn’t really a gun per se, it’s more of an upper receiver as it was mostly sold this way as a DIY kit. Yes you could get this as a complete firearm, but nowadays thats obviously impossible for you guys since they are now Prohibited Category Firearms.
But still, it is definitely worth a mention because the AR-57, while it wasn’t a perfect platform, it was actually a stepping stone for making 5.7x28mm get out of niche caliber territory, and is now gaining more widespread adoption and popularity, especially because of…. Recent events at an In N’ Out location that gave the round more attention.
Anyways enough of me yapping! Enjoy!

Any recommendations for a first gun
I love the look of tikka ace game .223 look but the 24 inch barrel seems way too much for range shooting max out at 200 yard. And I just can’t find anyone sells the 20inch version. Any other good option without spending more than $2k that’s within the tacticool feeling
Thanks.

Figured it was a good time to post another run of my Webley mk1 revolver circa 1890 using light smokeless reloads in 45AutoRim (same load will work for 45ACP with moonclips).
Handloading recipe is: 45AR starline brass, 3.5-3.6g win 231 powder, CCI large pistol primer, 1.26OAL, 230g LRN. Enjoy!

I got my PAL this year and I’ve been looking at a few guns to add to my collection. I’ve currently got a Benelli Lupo in 6.5 Creedmoor and I’m eyeing the Beretta 1301, but I’m also looking to get into clay shooting, but honestly I’ve never fired an over/under shotgun and the only shotguns I’ve fired at a clay shoot was an ancient Browning Auto 5 (which was dope). My thinking was if I get the 1301, that fills the semi-auto niche, and maybe I look at an O/U, but all the recommended ones online are quite expensive! The one that seemed most appealing was the Beretta 688 but for one of these shotguns, it totals up to more than the Lupo and 1301 lol.
So what should I be looking at? I don’t mind spending more, but what would keep me in the sport through absolute novice up to somewhat experienced over the next few years?

The hunt is over for this beauty. Fluted barrel shooting 17HMR. I think it’s about 10-15 years old, but overall good condition and mint.
Did a light coating of stock finish to bring it back to life.
All thats left is to swap the scope and test her out.

I see FRT entries for these marked as Non-Restricted. They are 114 mm barrel and 318 mm barrel. There is nothing in the market in truely this category. This is basically a pistol length barrel in a rifle that is about 20 inch length I guess. But I never see them listed anywhere. Were they never really launched or something?

Does anybody know if all Benelli M4 compatible stocks work on the Crusader Arms Backland Hunter?
More specifically the Toni Systems Stock.
Hopefully one day Woox or Magpul will make an M4 compatible stock, but until then, this will have to do

Hi all!
I’m new to this subreddit. I have applied for my RPAL and waiting for it to get delivered and am wondering what all should I look at before I get my license in the mail. Any recommendations are welcome. I was looking at the Nova3 and a potential 300 Winchester magnum rifle.
So excited to be part of this community.
EDIT: I wasn’t expecting that many responses haha. Thank you, this subreddit is awesome !!

Fairly new to the sport and had a question on one of my next purchases and storage
On of my storage options is a locked 4 drawer cabinet for horizontal storage. How easy at home is it to unscrew shotgun barrels? Mossberg, 1301, also ruger 10-22
This is just one option
Thankyou

Hey guys,
I just got into firearms and I am looking to get my first hard case. I would like to get one that can fit two rifles so that I can bring those to the range without having to carry multiple cases. Don't know if that matters, but I've got a 22LR and a .270.
Thing is, from what I have seen so far, I would need to cut out the foam in the shape of my rifles. I would like to avoid that since I plan on getting more rifles in the future and I don't want to be swaping foams everytime.
I am more a of ''buy once, cry once'' type of person and I am looking at Pelican and Nanuk, but I am open to other suggestions.
Any suggestions as far as specific models go?
