Feets / Collection / My build Are we tired of TM22s yet?

I'm mostly a manual action kind of guy but thought this would be a fun rifle to spin up some designs around until I finally get time to take it out to the range.

Base rifle is a 12" TM22 Pro

Barrel shroud, handguard top pic rail, foregrip, charging handle and custom magazine are designed by yours truly and printed in a mix of ASA and PETG.

Magazine holds 20rnds (pretty tightly), so far I've successfully tested feeding with only dummy rounds, since I'm not going to chamber live ammo in the house. I'm still working on refining the design.

Beavertail grip is the KaborDevices KD2 3D printed grip

MLOK SBI-like rail covers are also 3D printed.

Gideon Optics Mediator mounted so I can access all three top rail screws for cleaning.

How do you like those mag covers I’m thinking about picking up a few

These are 20rnd mags designed by me, I've yet to take them out to live fire, and finger feeding with dummy rounds seems rough but workable. Will have to refine the design a bit more.

The rifle came with 2x 10rnd stock mags in the box and I put those 3D printed mag covers by MatAttack on them. They look less "shriveled" than stock but stick out the front a wee bit more than I liked.

They look good. If you plan on selling them, drop a link.

If testing goes well, I'll see about making them available for others! Here's one of them loaded with 20rnds of Aguila Super Extra cat pee

Any word on these mags yet ?

No time to head to the range still, but manual feeding by racking the bolt works well with the mag fully loaded. I may tweak some of the geometry a bit since things feel a tad rough still.

Honestly these posts have me thinking of buying one for my birthday. Yours looks amazing, the mag covers actually look great, the rifle looks really great.

My only decision is the tm22, or a semi auto shotgun, or save a bit more for a Homesteader..... decisions decisions....

The homesteader is next on my list, just waiting on a sale...

That is a cursed pistol grip. So upright!

I like it for such a short rifle like this! At least it's not negative angled like a 10 or 5 degree AR grip would be due to the weird canted slot on these rifles.

Hey if it works for you, giver! To me it just reminds me of 2000s electric paintball guns

Honestly try it out before you slap it.

The reduced angle really squares up the shooting stance for use with the buttstock fully collapsed. It’s surprisingly comfortable.

Which top rail did you use to match the receiver rail?

1

u/Zedramus Aug 12 '26

This is a picatinny rail I designed myself and printed with Polymaker ASA.

They are good guns

Think you could make a more durable quad rail than Tommy? I’m tempted to pick one of these up and fulfil the dark urges to Tacticool it, but that can make a small gun heavy fast. Would love to have a quad rail without just adding aluminum rails to the original handguard.

Mags look great and very unique for the platform !

Did you make the charging handle cover yourself?

2

u/Zedramus Aug 13 '26

Yes I did! Quickly threw a design together because the stock charging handle felt like yanking on a M5 bolt. Kept it small enough to be low profile to match the size of the rifle but big enough to be more comfortable.

That's awesome! I should look into doing the same

What optic is that?! Looks cool

Gideon Optics Mediator, ACRO footprint but it came with a picatinny rail mount that puts the optic centerline around 1.5".

Gotta swap out that grip for something without the beaver tail. It just makes it look so off.

I sure hope you drop those mag files onto somewhere I can find them once you’ve got them as good as you like. I’d be very interested in a couple of those.

Those mags are awesome. I’d love to buy them if you ever end up selling them.
