Milsurps / Prohib The duality of man
Are you eastern bloc or western allies? Or should none of this have even happened in the first place?

Every time I see an SKS 15 I die a little.

Well, on the bright side, it's the most reliable and well-designed product Kodiak has ever made.

u/EvanAzzo Aug 10 '26
To be honest, it absolutely was not

It's the only thing they ever made that actually goes bang and cycles every time.
Can't say that for the 180s.

u/EvanAzzo Aug 10 '26
Once again. Not even remotely true.
Also. The AR-15 commemorative rifles they made for JTF2 were very high quality, but so was the price tag that accompanied them.

SKS 15 just ungodly heavy. Should never of happened in the first place. Kodiak was so preoccupied with whether or not they could they didn't stop to think if they should.

u/Relevant_Diver_3228 Aug 11 '26

Wish we could have the 30rnd mags, Id move to the states but, I am too vocal about my opinions about Mr Cheeto. Probably on a list or unknowingly banned for some reason.

Only thing about the US I am attracted to is their gun culture partially. The ability to get anything you want with the right ATF tax stamp. Silencers for one, but definitely just a lot of firearms we can not even dream of owning here.
I was considering moving to Texas, until I found out they don't support medical cannabis. I've used it for arthritis, back pain and permanent nerve pain for 15 years and my medication would be considered a Felony in Texas. So scratch that.

Now that's what Im talking about, I could totally move to Montana, not much different than Alberta. I'm from NS, but been here in Alberta for the past 25 years

Theres something about being responsible and trusted enough to have a mpx as a truck gun and sig on the waist. I dont have any fantasy or desire to hurt anybody or else id just be a criminal. I just want to carry and im more than capable but being canadian we are some of the least trusted citizens.

u/hunterofsteelhead Aug 18 '26
Hell the liberals banned throwing stars and nunchucks because they didnt trust canadians with watching Bruce Lee movies

I hear you. Honestly, I would pack a .44 Magnum, .45colt, or .45 ACP if it were legal. I originally wanted one for bush carry for years, though I'd be happy just to be able to own one now.
Hell, I'd even carry in Edmonton these days if we had even open carry as an option. If that was an option, I would likely carry a Ruger Redhawk in .44 magnum on my belt, the same as the fixed blade I carry everywhere currently.
Only ever had one security guard at Walmart have a problem with me carrying a knife, as he tried to tell me carrying a knife was illegal in Canada LOL. I proceeded to educate him on the laws in Canada. Knives are only illegal if they are prohibited varieties or concealed. I currently carry my Buck 102 with the 4" blade. I have carried a knife everywhere for 40 years. It's a tool I use multiple times a day, from opening packages and cutting things at work to even using it for cutting food at times.
A cordless hole puncher would be just another tool for me ;)

The question is how bad do y'all want it. I happen to know a company is coming out with a chassis that will give us this but you have to chop the reciver lots and apparently it's gonna be like 1500usd.
Me personally. I was obsessed with this rifle when I found it. But I want my SKS to be an AK and so that's what I've been working towards. I'm almost done.

All the people still hating. Not like we have a whole lot of options anymore..

u/starw24-ps4 Aug 10 '26
Appreciate it man. Not many choices especially for the eastern rifles. Gives me more free time to try new things!

This almost snuck passed me on mobile. Holy sheeeet. Did you cut the chassis for the top one yourself? If so that’s impressive if it works.

FYI, if your looking for a great quality, easy to find and import Bakelite grip alternative. I discovered that the GHK GBBR AK grips are excellent for the money! Very tough, nicely shaped and colored. They even come with both the M6 screw and T nut. Basically the only con to them is that they are monotone, they dont have the iconic splotchy look.

I don't get the hate tbh. They look great, and weight only helps the accuracy.

Honestly, I love the top one!!! Like that's an amazing looking mod on it, any more Info you can give about it?

Is the top rifle an SKS in a custom chassis or is that a type 81?
5
u/starw24-ps4 Aug 10 '26
Both of these are Sks rifles. I appreciate the comment though! Means I am getting a little better at making these I hope
2
u/Dill_Pickle_Tears Aug 11 '26
Yeah man I yearn for a bayonet compatible AK style chassis for my SKS.
Mine started its life in an ATI stock and isn’t parts matching. I’ve got it in a milsurp Chinese wood stock for now, but as long as I can slap it into a cool wood/meral chassis anything goes, be it an AK pattern or hush holste, neumanns etc. I’m only averse to polymer stocks for these rifles
Will you be mass producing and selling these?
1
u/starw24-ps4 Aug 11 '26
Yeah I get what you’re saying. I try to keep these bayonet friendly as long as there’s no dong on there, you can add one easily. I don’t mass produce these but I have done some customs before. Send me a DM !

One of the pros of the sks is the ease of field stripping and these look to take away from that
1
u/starw24-ps4 Aug 11 '26
I once asked a Kodiak rep how to take apart the sks 15. Their answer: don’t.
