Second month with PAL added a Mosin Nagant to the collection.

First off I woke up ealry today and listed a few new items to start off the week
Then here comes The B.U.M and literally bumps up 40 pages of ads
So my new listings are now in page 40 lol
Furthermore when I first started using Gunpost a few years back I messaged him about a mag i needed, I made an offer for 10$ less ( I was over paying at even 10$ off ) and he wrote me a huge reply saying hes doing me a solid by providing Canada gun owners with unobtainable magazines, and then blocks me.
I actually just went thru all 40 pages looking at his mags and his prices are thru the roof, some mags hes selling are available New from major retailers at half off his prices
Morning coffee rant
Have a good week everyone

Last I checked:
So why is no one making new PCCs in that caliber and ammo in Canada?
Hello? MRA? Kodiak? anyone?

I’m so tired of RSO telling me when i can stand and sit and if i can shoot a 12g at a paper target
Im in ontario, who wants to grab some acres out in parry sound and build a private range with me?

I just need to rant for a second. I bought an SKS with an ATI stock from Bass Pro because it was on sale. I didn’t get a chance to shoot it for about a month. When I finally sat down to clean it, I realized it was missing both the gas piston extension and the spring.
Essentially, I bought a bolt-action SKS.
I emailed Bass Pro customer service, and their response was incredibly disappointing. They told me that next time, I should completely strip the gun down at the retail counter. They basically said, "Too bad, so sad." It really sucks because now I am out almost $1,000, but I guess that’s life. and cant find the parts online

Hi guys,
Looking for a gunsmith that would be able to thread a barrel for a muzzle break for me in the Fraser Valley / lower mainland. Dlask arms is retired and rusty wood no longer take on new projects.

Has anyone in Ontario successfully received an SFC .22 LR handgun exemption letter for Olympic/bullseye shooting?
I’m from Windsor, Ontario, and I’m a member of Windsor Action Pistol Club, which offers a bullseye pistol league.
I’m trying to figure out what proof the SFC actually requires. I’ve found plenty of posts from people in BC and Alberta who were approved, but very little information from Ontario.
I currently have a .22 LR pistol that I’ve legally borrowed for six months, and I plan to use it in the club’s bullseye league. I’m just trying to understand what hoops I need to jump through before I apply.
What documents or evidence did you submit? Did they ask for proof of competition, club membership, training, or anything else?
Any advice or experiences from Ontario would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Howdy Folks!
The Texan is back with yet another gun appreciation post, this time with something that’s a bit of a classic for you guys. A good ol’ Lever Action, which you can almost never go wrong with, they are truly amazing guns, and I believe that everyone SHOULD have one in their collection.
The particular Lever Action we are looking at today is the Marlin Model 336, a classic .30-30 Winchester rifle that is no nonsense, and it just will run and run like it always does. If you are an avid sports shooter or a hunter, it’s always gonna help get what you need.
If you all have one, feel free to share your experiences with it, because honestly, it’s a great rifle that anyone can gloat or talk about. Or maybe you have a different .30-30 Lever Action like a Henry, and maybe you love that instead, nothing wrong with that either.
Anyways, enough yapping!
Enjoy!

Curious if anyone has any input on a scope im looking at. Going on a 308win. Primary use case is spot&stalk/still hunting rifle. Typical shots likely <150m aside from cuts where 200-250m is possible, but i'd like to keep the shots <300m.
So far thoughts are Bushnell R7 3x15-50, Trijicon 2-10x32, Meopta 3-15x. The Trijicon has more FOV which is nice for target acquisition, but less zoom and a smaller objective lens which hunting in a mix of thick mixed boreal forest or clear cuts its maybe not the best choice for the use case.
Open to any ideas/input. Cheers

Seeing a few posts about people Successfully obtaining Olympic or Target Exemptions, I'm Curious if anyone with a Workplace ATC or even a Wilderness ATC has gone through the process of obtaining a new Handgun in B.C.
I have a few people who have non-LEO ATC's for work but didn't have any Handguns before the Freeze.
So I'm looking for how they can navigate the process to obtain one. I'm assuming they will want 9mm or .40 for work training.
Would you still have to provide proof of training for Competition?
But reading the format on the website in its bullet point and location of a comma tells me that might not be required.
"If you want to acquire a handgun from any source in Canada, or through importation, you must meet one of the exemptions specified in the Firearms Act. Specifically, you must either:
*hold an authorization to carry in respect of a handgun, or for trapping and wilderness protection.
*meet the prescribed criteria and annually provide a letter to a chief firearms officer from a provincial or national sport shooting governing body indicating: (bullet points of target requirements not posted to save space)
Considering those are separated and it says Either the ATC might be just enough to not need target competition requirements.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

I've been helping a buddy acquire some vintage shotguns for his collection, so far picking him up a Winchester Model 12 and a Model 24. The Model 24 came with 2 sets of barrels so I offered to make him a case. The only thing I could find as a doner-case was still a bit big, so I'm making it so that fits both shotguns and all the barrels

Magpull grip + hand stop

Ever since the original backland hunter came out I’ve been eying one, but the reviews kept me away. Seeing the comp come out and a few good reviews I decided to give it a try.
Ordered a set of irons for it which still haven’t arrived, but I wanted to try it out so threw a red dot on and took it to EESA.
Ran about 50 rounds of .223 with the only issue being not feeding 2 rounds. Also realized that if you raise the cheek riser it’ll block the charging handle lol.
New to guns so I don’t have anything to compare to, but fit and finish is good. Planning on taking it out again next weekend and might update.

I threw the Archangel AR-15 style conversion kit on my fiancé's Ruger 10/22 yesterday. Overall, pretty straightforward process. Only hiccup was that the mag well on the Archangel needed to be sanded down inside to allow the 10/22 mag to drop. It's a little tight in there so the mag was getting stuck after releasing. Other than that, it was super easy! Threw on the Viridian scope that came with the Ruger Bass Pro deal, and a Magpul vertical grip. Definitely needs higher scope rings because it's literally sitting on the pic rails.😂 Got some pics during the process.

Borderline my most ghetto work so far haha. But also seems pretty promising (This is a " proof of concept " setup). A non permanent RMR mount for the Uberti 1873 lever actions. Installed a cheap Osight bought off Amazon with the goal of having a 50m zero on the dot (3moa), and a crude 100m hold over on the bottom ring (32moa ring).

Here’s my current collection, from top to bottom:
- Mossberg 500
- Ruger American Gen 1 30.06
- Mossberg 590 (9-shot)
- Federation SA-4 (Benelli M4 Clone)
- Ruger 10/22 Carbine
I’m planning to get another plinker, either a lever-action or an AR-15-style .22 with a red dot sight. Additionally, I’m looking to join another range and participate in an IPSC and precision shooting program, which could help me avoid the handgun freeze.
P.S. I have no issues with the M4 Clone. Since it’s gas-operated, as long as you clean it regularly, it fires beautifully.

Gun locker is getting a little full.
Top to bottom in order of purchase:
- Winchester SXP Defender
- Savage MK II
- SKS
- Ruger 10/22 with Oryx Chassis
- S&W 1854 .44
- Henry Homesteader
Next on wish list: Ranger Point Precision parts for the S&W, scope for the 10/22, some type of auto shotgun for skeet and a high calibre rifle.
And with all these recent posts for handgun exemptions…maybe that too!

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.
First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.
This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.
To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.
We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.
Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

Is there any league/ range offering training for ISSF-style competitive shooting? Asking this as an extreme beginner to the sport. I couldn't find any ranges that train Olympic level shooting online :( Am I missing any?
