Gun and gear reviews Made some new parts for my DMA Stowaway rifle, grip mag (for M&P and Glock mags) and an “enhanced” cocking knob
I’m loving this rifle, it is so compact and fun to shoot now especially with the upgrades I’ve done.
Ive got a bunch more ideas coming to make it the ultimate survival rifle.

Gun and gear reviews Ruger 10/22 archangel nomad
I had one of these years ago and like a fool sold it. I stumbled upon one a few weeks ago and jumped on picking it up. They are neat I’ll give them that. Bit heavy a lot of work for assembly but overall pretty cool. Fit and finish I’d give 8/10 there’s good sized gaps where the case halves fit together and the iron sights are awful. I decided to through a red dot on but the sights obstruct the view so they had to go. I modeled some filler parts and here we are. Next up I might toss my 10” barrel back on pin the folding stock and find a 36c forend the mag sleeves are printed aswell as the barrel shroud as the one it came with was almost impossible to get on/off

Damn. I never wanted a $22k shotgun before. But after seeing this video, I can see the appeal.

Gun and gear reviews First rifle (Winchester XPR Green - Vortex combo)
Hi guys,
I’ve been looking for a bolt-action rifle in .308 Win for a while and came across this deal: around $800, plus 5% off and a $25 mail-in rebate from Winchester.
I’m mainly planning to start with target shooting/plinking, and possibly get into hunting later, so I’m looking for something versatile. I also tend to prioritize quality and durability over price.
What do you guys think about this as a first purchase?
Any other models you’d recommend in a similar price range?
Thanks!

Gun and gear reviews Advice on a new hunting scope: Vortex HS or Burris Fullfield 4/Signature HD
Hey guys, looking to get a new scope for the upcoming hunting season. I'm deciding between a Vortex Viper HS 4-16x44mm Scope with BDC Reticle, Burris Fullfield 4-16×50 Ballistic E3, or a Burris Signature HD 3-15x44mm Ballistic E3 Illuminated SFP Scope. The Viper and Fullfield 4 is around the same price but the Signature HD is about $100 more.
I don't care too much for the extra feature of illumination for the extra hundred. More about clarity and ease of use. Any advise is appreciated. I'm fairly new and my current scope is a 3-9x40mm Vortex Diamondback Tactical. I don't find it terrible but I do feel that the clarity could be better

Gun and gear reviews A follow up to the “brand new” Basspro Pedersoli
It looks like I can’t post picture in the comments so I’ll leave these here. These were the first 3 patches through the gun. I’d say this goes beyond a test at the factory. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day ruined.

Gun and gear reviews Sunday new-gun day
Took my new Morisson 12" 357 levergun to the range today, very satisfied with this oddball Turk. 12" barrel, 38/357 top-ejecting levergun. It's kinda sorta like a 94 Winchester, but with a somewhat shorter stroke and a beefed up action. Mine surprised me with a checkered stock (none of the pictures online have checkering), which I'm very pleased with. The fit and finish is very good - I have yet to spot any flaws or loose parts, or metal shavings anywhere. Its not blued, sadly, but matte parkerized. Though the finish is very durable, and hasnt scuffed or dinged yet. The action is a bit stiff - you have to cycle it 'with purpose,' but it's already breaking in very well after a few hundred cycles.
I mounted an inexpensive 1.5-6x32 Vortex IR scout scope on it. The blued rings I'd bought were about 1mm too low, so I mounted it in some stainless rings I had on hand. I had to remove the factory rear open sight to clear the scope bell. I like the scope OK, but it doesn't hold a candle to a Burris scout scope. Still, I'm satisfied with the optic at about the $350 price point, I guess. At low power with the reticle lit, it feels a lot like using a red dot. I don't like open sights, and the integrated rail was a major selling point for me.
At the range, I fired a hundred or so mixed 38spl and 357 rounds. It fed everything well, with one or two misfeeds on one of my 38spl loads - mostly due to being a bit too timid on the lever. A more assertive operation fed with no failures. There were no FTFs or other operational issues. I didn't test for accuracy (yet) but had no problems consistently drilling the 6" gong at 100 yards. The gun points and aims very well, and is really easy to use standing or from the bench. The balance and swing is just about perfect. The top eject does have an unfortunate way of throwing brass right back at you, but thats true of any top eject lever gun. I didn't chrony anything, but it threw all loads tested at a fairly close POI, from really light 38spl with 124gr over 3.5gr of Clays, to stouter +p loads with 125 and 158gr bullets, and full house 158gr 357 loads over 16.5gr of h110. The short barrel did mean that all shots were relatively loud, and the 357's especially made for a big blast and an impressive fireball. The delay between the shot and the impact with light 38spl loads was fun. Seemed like a real long wait for the 'ting!' whereas the fireball loads felt almost instant in comparison.
I see a fresh batch of Morissons has arrived, in fun new calibers. Wonder if the 44 version is gonna be available in 12"... I'd DEFINITELY buy another of these guns.

Gun and gear reviews Sunday new gun day
ISSC SPA on clearance at CSC, wasn't much info about em besides the huntinggearguys review from 6 years ago. Took a gamble and it paid off! This thing is awesome and super accurate. No sling attachment points is kinda lame but I'm sure it can't be too hard to install. Otherwise a fantastic lil toggle action.

Gun and gear reviews Canuck Wrangler Jurassic .357 first shots, first thoughts
I purchased a Canuck Wrangler Jurassic in .357 Mag. I chose .357 over .44 Mag because I’ve always wanted a firearm in that caliber, I already had a mold for it, it could shoot .38spl which is way more available than .44 special and .357 looked fun and cheap to reload.
I bought a box each of .38 and .357 and the day I got the gun went to a family member’s rural property to try it out.
.38spl American Eagle 158 round nose (all that was available in brass)
Quiet, had virtually no perceived recoil but did not like to cycle in the rifle. The rounds didn’t like to pop back from the mag tube. Had to fiddle around with it and poke the rounds with my knife blade to get them to pop back.
.357 Mag American Eagle 158 semi jacketed flat nose (all that was available in brass)
Love the bang, and the thump. Loaded flawlessly, every time.
I don’t know why the .38s didn’t like to load, it was a pain in the ass to fiddle with them. I’m hoping that some use will break the gun in and they will work in the future.
My 12yo son loves the little carbine, he likes the lever action and if he proves he can hit things with it he’ll take it hunting this fall. From other experiences with cast lead in rifles, powder-coated 158gr hardish cast semi-wadcutters should go the long way through a deer. I will do some penetration testing, and see what they will do vs factory.

Gun and gear reviews New Beretta 1301 Mod 2 Arrived With Missing Parts
I wanted to flag this for the community and get some input.
My Beretta 1301 Tactical Mod 2 arrived today from Rangeview Sports and I’m immediately noticing two things missing that are supposed to be standard on this gun:
Ghost ring rear sight — Every spec sheet, review, and retailer listing I’ve found confirms this is a standard feature. Beretta’s own product listings and third-party reviewers all describe the adjustable ghost ring rear sight with windage and elevation adjustment as included from the factory.
Picatinny / MIL-STD 1913 top rail — Again, listed as a standard feature across the board. Supposed to be a short segment in front of the rear sight for optics mounting.
I’m already aware that the Canadian versions of the Mod 2 can differ from US versions (e.g., mag capacity is blocked to legal limits, and some Canadians have noted the M-LOK handguard and extended mag tube weren’t included). But I haven’t seen anyone specifically report the rear sight and Picatinny rail being absent.
My questions for the community:
Did anyone else receive a Canadian-market 1301 Mod 2 without these components?
Is this potentially a Canadian import variant that strips certain features, or is this more likely a fulfillment/packing error on Rangeview’s part?
Has anyone had success getting Rangeview or Beretta Canada to remedy something like this?
I have contacted Rangeview directly, but wanted to document this publicly in case others are experiencing the same thing.
Any experience or insight appreciated.

Gun and gear reviews 3D printed 10/22 to 597 adapter and 3D printed 597 magazine
I modified the Deifox’s 597 magazine design I found online and redesigned it to accept a 3D printed spring. I also made an extended 597 magazine (that can load up to 8 rounds and can possibly load up to 10). The 10/22 to 597 mag adapter design was originally from a guy named Francis Edorikov, but I ended up modifying it quite a bit to make it fit properly and feed reliably.
I will post the file on makerworld once I got permission.
It may or may not work on ur 10/22 🙃
Hope this will help u guys out! Also hope this convince you to get a 3D printer LOL
Or just buy the SBI 10/22 adapter! They work the best! If they restock 😢
Cheers guys!

Gun and gear reviews Should I get a Baikal shotgun?
I’m in the market for my first shotgun, mainly for clays. I’ve been seeing over under and side by side Baikal shotguns for super cheap on intersurplus. Are these ultra cheap shotguns worth it or am I basically buying a project/scrap.
