Gun and gear reviews New Beretta 1301 Mod 2 Arrived With Missing Parts

I wanted to flag this for the community and get some input.

My Beretta 1301 Tactical Mod 2 arrived today from Rangeview Sports and I’m immediately noticing two things missing that are supposed to be standard on this gun:

Ghost ring rear sight — Every spec sheet, review, and retailer listing I’ve found confirms this is a standard feature. Beretta’s own product listings and third-party reviewers all describe the adjustable ghost ring rear sight with windage and elevation adjustment as included from the factory.

Picatinny / MIL-STD 1913 top rail — Again, listed as a standard feature across the board. Supposed to be a short segment in front of the rear sight for optics mounting.

I’m already aware that the Canadian versions of the Mod 2 can differ from US versions (e.g., mag capacity is blocked to legal limits, and some Canadians have noted the M-LOK handguard and extended mag tube weren’t included). But I haven’t seen anyone specifically report the rear sight and Picatinny rail being absent.

My questions for the community:

  1. Did anyone else receive a Canadian-market 1301 Mod 2 without these components?

  2. Is this potentially a Canadian import variant that strips certain features, or is this more likely a fulfillment/packing error on Rangeview’s part?

  3. Has anyone had success getting Rangeview or Beretta Canada to remedy something like this?

I have contacted Rangeview directly, but wanted to document this publicly in case others are experiencing the same thing.

Any experience or insight appreciated.

If you can't figure it our i can send you mine. I pulled it off before I ever fired the gun and put a crom on it.

Thanks for the offer, I appreciate it! I am hoping Rangeview or Stoeger Canada can make this right, but if not I will send you a message.

What optic did you decide on to adorn the crom?

I started on it with a 509T + Tacord co-witness mount with DIY Rob Haught mod to OEM rear sight.

Eventually swapped over to a HS503CU + crom and have been loving it. I prefer the larger circle dot, lack of distortion, better and tubular aesthetic. 509T is still a keeper though, just rotated elsewhere in the collection. Best of all it gave me a unique and super minimal iron sight picture I really dig. Essentially only the top 40% of the rear aperture and the majority of the front sight are visible in the curved bottom portion of the window. It's a quick to identify sight picture that disappears while using the red dot, yet it's still right there when you look for it.

I used the GG&G 509t mount with the half aperture. It could witnesses perfectly and since theoretically i shouldn't ever actually need it, it doesn't take up to much room.

I wanted them closed emitter so I went with the 509T, it just made more sense than the acro. There an Osight that has a closed admitted that I actually really like, especially for the price but there isn't a crom for the RMSc foot print and I didn't want to use an adapter plate, because it would likely screw up the co witness and it just was extra screws on a shot gun.

I considered going with the aimpoit foot print and some something like the 503. The biggest reason I didn't is that I don't have any firearms that if I didn't like it, I pretty much don't own any firearms that are nor prohibited that I could use it on. At least with the 509t i could mount it on a handgun or something.

I also am interested to know what dot you decided to mount on the CROM. I am looking at a 508T with a green dot as I have read that it should be OK with an astigmatism.

I am also wondering how you found the rear peep site on the CROM - I would considering using it for a while before buying a green dot sight.

I’ll check this out. Did you remove your rear sight? Does it co-witness with the front and rear sight?

Have to remove rear. Sits perfect with front post.

Personally like that its about the lowest you can go wich is great for accuracy

I have a the crom with the 509t mount and half aperture. It aligns perfectly. The only downside is that the 509t is a proprietary foot print so its kind of limited. If you don't care about closed admitted RMR is a better foot print choice and has more options. The peep sight aligns perfectly and does what its supposed to do. I bought the GG&G mount but aridus makes excellent ones as well.

As for the astigmatism, I have one as well. I never even realized it till recently so it probably just depends on how severe yours is. I also have glasses that probably would reduce the blooming if I wore them lol.

The one thing I would say is make sure if you buy an extended magazine tube, make sure that its limited to 5.9 rounds of 2 3/4. The one that i ordered was not and I had to restrict it myself.

Thanks for the info. So you have the GG&G CROM mount with a Holosun 509T and it co-witnesses? I prefer the 509T but thought it wouldn’t co-witness since you need to use an adapter plate for RMR style mounts.

Not with the GG&G mount, its specifically cut for the 509t footprint.

I am going to try to find one of these - where did you purchase yours from?

Canadian safety source has them.

This is where I bought it and most of my parts. I've gotten a lot of stuff from them.

Both the rail and the ghost ring sights should be standard. The only Canadian specific import variant would be whether or not it has the M-Lok handguard.

To my knowledge they’re supposed to come with the ghost ring sights & top rail

I’ve only got a sample size of 1 though

The gun comes with a set of sights and the top rail regardless, sorry for the bad expereince.

Cant remember who did this, but with the tavor some retailers were switching the metal mag for a pmag and selling the soft case as accessory. Maybe this is type of situation.

Update us with what Rangeview replies back to you with, since those parts should of course be included.

What colour and did you get the mod 2 mlok forend on yours?

1

u/CJK02 Apr 14 '26

Mod 2 Black with Mlok forend

I understand your frustration, but it's kind of funny given that those are the two parts that pretty much everybody pulls off their gun to replace.

Vortex makes a lovely little enclosed micro reflex called the viper, highly reccomend.
