Test firing the Winchester wildcat with the SBI 597 adapter.

The winchester wildcat is unfortunate that they didn't carry forward their unique wildcat magazine into higher capacity. As it is compatible and uses standard Ruger 10/22 magazines for 10+ capacity. Which for Canada means the Wildcat doesn't natively allow for 10+ magazines due to the Ruger magazine rule.

This is really only for Canada, but I wanted to see and prove that the SBI 597 adapter works in the Winchester wildcat and can provide greater than 10 round capacity. This isn't a long term indicator of reliability or anything but wanted to show off video evidence as there have been people saying it works, but its 2026 everyone has a camera now so I decided to share some video.

Time will tell to show how good the SBI 597 adapter and the 597 magazines are, but they aren't terrible so far. I didn't have a lot of time to test as it was raining buckets and I was really wet.

This video the 2nd magazine had 2 failures to feed, where basically the round was halfway out of the magazine and the bolt didn't properly strip it out to feed. I only loaded the magazines to 20 because it gets really hard to push the rounds in after 20.

The wildcat is SO good i will get another one before I get any other 22lr rifle. Its THAT good. Got the 597 adapter aswell it works great but the magazine often require some filling to work properly

I really like my wildcat it's been incredibly reliable even with cheap low quality ammo.

It was forecasted to blow 75km/hr and dump 25-30mm of rain there that day haha

It was just an unfortunate angle, it wasnt blowing into it when I set up. So I just solidered through it and shot quickly.

I could have picked another bay that was 90 degrees to it but I just wanted to do a quick test fire.

Heavily prefer the wildcat over the 10/22. Shot and handled both. Accuracy on the wildcat is the same if not better, it actually has a last round bolt hold open, and it's much less bulky and lighter.

My only complain is the picatinny rail on top is cheap. But still my shit stay zeroed

I shot my buddy's. Was about 2moa at 100 yards. Was still getting a good 4-5" group at 200 yards. Not bad at all for a $300 gun. He had a 3-12x airgun scope on it I believe.
