You break into someone’s house, you leave all ur rights at the door, he deserved to get shot
62
u/jaraxel_arabani Mar 18 '26
Exactly. I don't get why people don't understand this basic concept.
45
u/rastamasta45 Mar 18 '26
Liberals don’t operate in reality. In their reality all criminals need is a hug, budgets balance themselves and out of control immigration has no effect on housing.
13
u/Top_Importance6216 Mar 18 '26
Hi, liberal gun owner here: you bust past my door they are gonna put your face on a t-shirt.
3
u/lot7mckellar Mar 19 '26
3 strike rule in this home. 1st you broke in. 2nd you didn't leave after taking keys and wallet at front door. 3rd you placed your foot on the stairs leading to my family. At that point, in my haste, I dont know whether it was bird, buck, or slug that was loaded. And yes, I tend to clean my shotgun at night in bed, cause the cleaning solvent helps me sleep.

u/jaraxel_arabani Mar 18 '26
Sadly they live in cbc everything is great bubble.
6
u/Woodytastic Mar 18 '26
CBC does alot of good reporting and represents rural areas more thoroughly then any other news network.
Do I agree with all their opinion pieces? No, but there just someones opinion. They have represented the facts of the buyback well enough recently imo.
13
u/leyland1989 Mar 18 '26
If someone breaks into my house, their life is worth less than the bullets I use to shoot them. I'd be willing to gift them a couple rounds to save our tax payers' money
-9
u/hafetysazard Mar 18 '26
I think deserved is the wrong word, but he definitely had it coming.
20
8
u/jollygreengiant1655 Mar 18 '26
No I think it may actually be deserved in this case. Check out the rap sheet of the guy who got shot and arrested. Basically a career violent criminal.
4
u/37BJJ Mar 18 '26
Criminals deserve nothing but the worst possible fate known to mankind. Scum of the earth, dredges on society and an absolute waste of oxygen

u/rastamasta45 Mar 18 '26
I can only imagine how much Provost is seething right now and just angry that good man wasn’t murdered.
119
u/MustardTiger88 Mar 18 '26 edited Mar 18 '26
Nathalie Provost is a disdainful, professional victim. A manipulative loser who uses her victim status to push her personal agenda and to earn an income off of the backs of Canadian taxpayers.
35
u/Fine-Tie2651 Mar 18 '26
She suffers from ptsd and should honestly seek therapy of some sort to get over it. People who experience trauma tend to be hyper vigilant and over guard themselves. In which case, Provost needs to seek help.
24
u/mtldude1967 Mar 18 '26
You're right, but it's been almost 40 years...if she hasn't sought help yet, it's because she doesn't want to.
17
u/RydNightwish Mar 18 '26
There came a point where she stopped being the victim and became the abuser.
No sympathy for people like that.
3
u/pahtee_poopa Mar 19 '26
And the government needs to seek help for allowing people like this into positions of power who seek to push an agenda against the facts and stats.
14
u/DuperCheese Mar 18 '26
She might just go out and shoot someone /s
4
u/PageAggravating4460 Mar 18 '26
I know this comment isn’t meant to be funny per se but I laughed hard at this 😂😂😂
6
u/RydNightwish Mar 18 '26
If you're quiet and listen hard, you can hear a faint screeching on the wind as it echoes from coast to coast.
Her husbands poor ears.
203
u/starw24-ps4 Mar 18 '26
That shot intruder was known to police and wanted for multiple gang charges in Quebec and Ontario, and was out on probation at this point.
Why is this guy back out on the street? I am glad people are finally starting to side with the home owners defending themselves, but this really is a court issue at its core
71
30
139
u/Canuk723 Mar 18 '26
Provost angry the homeowner didn’t get shot so she could blame the guns
9
u/burgers1919 Mar 18 '26
Yes and somehow in her mind targeting legal firearms owners makes sense even though the criminal had an illegally owned firearm.
Hard to rationalize with these ppl when their logic works as above.
4
u/Canuk723 Mar 18 '26
That’s what happen when you put a traumatized ultra bias person in charge with a lot of power

u/bumsaxk Mar 18 '26
Rare Doug W
45
u/Dummy_Wire Mar 18 '26
Doug often talks tough and says good shit, like this. He just fails to deliver. He says bad/dumb shit too, of course, but he says and does bad shit, and only says good shit.

Every political figure is. They all blow with the wind. They say whatever they are told to

u/lee--carvallo Mar 18 '26
You know, the LPC could do the funniest thing...
1)After March 31st, declare the buyback a resounding success and jerk themselves off over how many 'assault rifles' they collected. Suspend collection
2) "We are now turning our attention to modernizing firearm regulation for licensed, trained and trusted owners. Our approach will be based on a firearm's fitness for purpose and not just on it's name."
3) Crib the CPC's simplified system, call it something else
4) Pass it with unanimous support from the CPC and most of his own party

Carney had a chance to blame the previous guy and say he won’t be going through with it.
The fact he’s doubled down means any cancellation will be seen as admitting they were wrong.
The liberals have no problem pointing out other peoples mistakes but they’ll never acknowledge their own.
9
u/jollygreengiant1655 Mar 18 '26
The only way I see out of this for the LPC is to come up with some bs excuse and hang it on Gary's shoulders and throw him under the bus. But I don't see that happening... yet.
I'm still kinda surprised the anti gun movement didn't flare up after the BC tragedy.
7
u/cbrdragon Mar 18 '26
That’s the thing I don’t get.
Gary is comically ignorant of existing Canadian firearm laws. He’s been recorded saying it will have no effect on gun violence. Yet he’s still in his position.
I can only assume he’s a fall guy in case it fails?
But doesn’t he realize this himself? Is there no self respect? Im no political expert by any means, but I can’t imagine mp’s are that stupid he doesn’t see how he looks handling this.
7
u/jollygreengiant1655 Mar 18 '26
Re your last line, no I'm not sure he's smart enough to see the risk. Otherwise he would have likely seen the risk before he took the position, and declined it.
My take on Gary, is he's one of the types who thinks exact loyalty to the party will secure his future. Which in fairness has worked for quite a few over the years.
4
u/cbrdragon Mar 18 '26
This is true. There’s no shortage of unqualified ministers who have performed miserably, just to be shuffled into a different position
2
u/HappyCan7250 Mar 23 '26
That's basically our whole government at this point. Recycled ministers over and over, despite complete incompetence and no knowledge of the file they're supposed to manage.
For God's sake, our minister of jobs was a graphic designer before being elected and appointed to a cabinet position.
Honestly Canadians should be outraged over the incompetence of the cabinet, but the Canadian way is just to bury your head in the sand and scream about fascists, I guess? eLboZe up!!!
The immigration Minister is another great example. No idea how she's qualified to run such a critical file, and she's essentially being shielded in the house by other MPs because they know she can hardly string together a coherent sentence.
5
u/julienjj Mar 19 '26
I don't think Gary has any value at all in this government. 4d chess he's being setup to be super well lubed to roll under that bus.
7
u/burgers1919 Mar 18 '26
Correct and they can't back down even when they are told they are wrong - hence endless appeals for the use of the emergency measures act!
2
13
u/WeightedDips95 Mar 18 '26
Because they simply don’t want people owning guns. Probably for nefarious reasons
It’s obviously no longer for political gain anymore, as is widely speculated.
6
u/sounoriginal13 Mar 18 '26
This. Combine it with their obsession with censorship. Sprinkled with grumblings of public grocery stores and ubi. I see a pattern. Oh and dont forget the complete absence of accountability.
6
u/WeightedDips95 Mar 18 '26
Exactly. They want a nation of toothless brainwashed slaves. Im sure theyll get it. Canada is the perfect host for this postmodern authoritarian pilot project
24
u/Acceptable_Visit_115 Mar 18 '26
The Liberals already teased a "simplified classification system".
Unfortunately from the sound of things, it'll be simple but incredibly restrictive.
20
u/jaraxel_arabani Mar 18 '26
To then it'll be "everything but single shot .22 wil be prohibited lolz". Simple. They want to ban everything
8
11
u/lee--carvallo Mar 18 '26
Gonna huff the hopium here.
I'd heard that, but the fact that they haven't got the ball rolling yet tells me they're thinking twice about it. The LPC's moderate arm has to know what a boondoggle C21 was and that the only reason they got re-elected was dumping their progressives (think how they did Guilbeault) and courting conservatives, both at the ballot box and in the house.
Passing gun laws that are actually reasonable isn't as risky as when Trudeau was at the helm. There's been enough pushback from the other major parties, provincial governments, police forces etc that the government wouldn't look foolish distancing itself from the policies of the previous administration. Plus this presents the opportunity to start building a rural voter base somewhere besides the Maritimes. Whatever seats they lose in Quebec could easily be gained back in the West if they play their cards right. Not saying this is ideal at all, but strategically it's worth them considering.
11
u/Acceptable_Visit_115 Mar 18 '26
Although I can see where you are coming from, the fact that a) they refused to drop the gun grab and b) Gary openly naming the SKS as "being looked at next" are not filling me with any bit of confidence.
My guess is they'll double down on the C21-style classification, where they added a new definition of "prohibited firearms" that blanket-banned anything new that's centerfire semiauto with a detachable mag. It'll be a sweeping ban like that one.
2
u/lee--carvallo Mar 18 '26
I don't think they're going to do anything with the SKS besides sabre-rattling and maybe an import ban. There are literally hundreds of thousands of them, and people across the political spectrum own them and use them (not to mention First Nations members). There isn't a big enough benefit for such an undertaking
5
u/gamercast1337 Mar 18 '26
Dude do you need us to come and check on you to see if you are alive? You are huffing what could be considered biblical levels of copium in this message and im worried you might not be getting enough oxygen to the brain.
This government has made their intentions clear: authoritarian laws, lower standard of living across the board, and arrest anyone who disagrees.
1
u/lee--carvallo Mar 19 '26
Maybe so. But they blinked when C21's first reading got lit up for that first list of banned guns (remember the assault style Ruger no 1?). And 15 Liberal MPs sided with the NDP when they tabled C-233 a week ago or so. For a party known for it's voting discipline, that's not an insignificant crack in it's armor. Even if the LPC gets it's majority, it may not be as ironclad as they think.
2
u/HappyCan7250 Mar 23 '26
But, at least this government is so goddamn incompetent and inefficient it'll take them 30 years to come up with this system... And how exactly do they implement it? They'd face the exact same issues that made them take 6 years to roll out a buyback, but amplified by multiple times as it would effect potentially EVERY gun in the country rather than just maybe 1/4 of them.
TLDR: they'll never actually get around to it. They're too dumb, too inefficient, and too lazy.
12
u/Lumindan Mar 18 '26
2) "We are now turning our attention to modernizing firearm regulation for licensed, trained and trusted owners. Our approach will be based on a firearm's fitness for purpose and not just on it's name."
3) Crib the CPC's simplified system, call it something else
This sounds good on paper but in practice letting the liberals write firearms classification would not be good for us. These are the same people who call the gsg16 a weapon of war
2
u/waitwhatnothing Mar 19 '26
Yeah, public safety announced at the end of last year that they would be starting a comprehensive review of firearms regulations with the goal of simplifying things. When that will be done and if anything results from it, who knows. It’s true that simplification is badly needed but if this government does it, it would almost certainly involve a complete ban on semi-auto centerfire rifles. I don’t think any kind of ban on semi-auto shotguns or rimfire is viable, maybe new capacity restrictions.
2
u/Lumindan Mar 19 '26
I don’t think any kind of ban on semi-auto shotguns or rimfire is viable, maybe new capacity restrictions.
When the end goal is to get rid of all civilian ownership and they base things on vibes (and Canadians are super weak willed), don't assume ANYTHING is safe.
They'll bring in those 'experts' who are shrouded in mystery and we won't be left with much. We've had this conversation before, except last time it was "well at least we have handguns and some semis".
The goal post will keep moving until a new government comes into power.
1
u/HappyCan7250 Mar 23 '26
Considering it took them several months just to come out and say "we're temporarily dropping the ev mandate", I'm betting it'll take them about 30 years to come up with a simplified system for classification and regs. It's pretty low on my list of worries.
Considering it took them 6 years to roll out a horribly botched, floundering "buyback", I'm not too worried about them ever getting around to rewriting the regs.
Too dumb, too inefficient. They like to say shit to look like they're doing stuff, when there's very little actually being done. That'll be the hallmark of this government when we look back on it in a decade. Carney will be known as the man who got nothing done.
9
u/gamercast1337 Mar 18 '26
Why would they? It goes agaisnt the disarmament the western world is facing right now. Yall are on some extreme copium to think they arent going to double down in every way they can on disarming gun owners.
"Ough but Carney could say the gun grab is a success, change the laws to let us own guns and come and give me a kiss on the cheek and a brand new ar15 with a unpinned drummag and let me buy cheap silencers and also the government completely foes a 180 on every other policy and canada turns around and we are the richest country in the world" is what some of yall be sounding like.
Their job is to make us poor, have no rights and not be able to protect ourselves. They are succeeding .

That would cut the grass under poillievre feets so hard.
Miss Poly might do the bacon on the front lawn of the parliament tho.

u/rastamasta45 Mar 18 '26
What’s so wild about seeing this shift is how much the LPC have dropped the ball so much. Trudeau publicly proclaimed that “no one has the right to use a firearm for self defence”
Then he managed to facilitate one of the worst violent crime sprees in Canadian history and bankrupted Canada (which increase crime). They pushed this narrative that self defence is an American value and we’re not American.
Now Canada is in such a dire place we have a premier praising the shooting of home intruders. Well done LPC, seriously well done.
6
u/burgers1919 Mar 18 '26
I assume no one in Trudeau's protection detail has a firearm right ;)? I mean let's hope he walks the walk.
24
u/Big-Guitar-1979 Mar 18 '26
Unfreeze the pistol ban
7
u/ealeeyuh Mar 18 '26
Its a shame that gun laws can’t be provincial because Ford completely supports handgun ownership

u/Alarming_Condition27 Mar 19 '26
Ford doing a tough guy routine..
1
u/OkSignificance4641 Mar 24 '26
Yeah this guy is a fool I cant believe hes been in office as long as he has
10
u/haberdasher42 Mar 18 '26
I agree with him and I'd be happy to have a beer with him, but holy fuck if he's not a terrible guy to run the province.
2
u/Troflecopter Mar 20 '26
You should be allowed to kill violent home intruders.
A drunk kid accidentally stumbles into your front door? No.
Someone comes in looking to rob your house and rape your wife? Yes.
1
3
u/SamJamn Mar 18 '26
As great as this is, I feel he is using this as a distraction from other provincial problems and of course law to keep premiers record secret.
1
u/WestEasterner Mar 19 '26
Love the idea of this message, but based on this, some simpleton is going to end up shooting someone and go down hard, thinking he's a-ok thanks to this message.
DO NOT TRUST A POLITICIANS WORD. EVER.

Time to legislate protections for gun owners Dougie.
