You know, the LPC could do the funniest thing...

1)After March 31st, declare the buyback a resounding success and jerk themselves off over how many 'assault rifles' they collected. Suspend collection

2) "We are now turning our attention to modernizing firearm regulation for licensed, trained and trusted owners. Our approach will be based on a firearm's fitness for purpose and not just on it's name."

3) Crib the CPC's simplified system, call it something else

4) Pass it with unanimous support from the CPC and most of his own party

The Liberals already teased a "simplified classification system".

Unfortunately from the sound of things, it'll be simple but incredibly restrictive.

But, at least this government is so goddamn incompetent and inefficient it'll take them 30 years to come up with this system... And how exactly do they implement it? They'd face the exact same issues that made them take 6 years to roll out a buyback, but amplified by multiple times as it would effect potentially EVERY gun in the country rather than just maybe 1/4 of them.

TLDR: they'll never actually get around to it. They're too dumb, too inefficient, and too lazy.
