This is the second "firearm seized at traffic stop" article I've seen today. Hm.
5
u/mwmwmwmwmmdw Feb 28 '26
my guess for this one is an american who crossed here without thinking while carrying one as a secondary backup. probably thought they left their primary back home and forgot they had this too.
i just say that since a lifecard is not the usual crime gun since they are fairly expensive and not really condusive to what criminals want them for. and it was in kingston not far from the border.

“Best we can do is ban more hunting rifles such as the SKS and begin confiscating the handguns still left in law abiding owners hands”
-LPC probably
2
u/JacksonYSL Feb 28 '26
Sorry for my ignorance but is that true? Are they trying to start collecting all of the handguns that people purchased pre ban?
4
u/rastamasta45 Feb 28 '26
No, they haven’t announced or hinted at such plans, I’m saying because they will likely do that in the event of a another liberal scandal
1
u/atf_annihilator69 Feb 28 '26
“shiiit he has a firearm smuggled from america? yeah close tenda and canadian tire cant sell firearms ive seen enough. oh and ban any firearm that isnt a single shot .22. the streets will be so safe”
76
u/vanbc27 Feb 27 '26
You can buy these on Aliexpress.com. They cost $10. I tried ordering one once but customs took it, Not canadian customs but chinese customs.
78
u/thecoolernameistaken Feb 27 '26
LOL this guy tried that’s fucking nuts. I’m way too paranoid to try
34
u/izza123 Feb 27 '26
I almost bought one when I was buying Alibaba bullshit and then the more I looked at it the more I realised everything was sized a little too accurately and I just had this vision of the future where the RCMP was at my door with a stern look and a piece of scary paper.

They are toys, ali express, wish temu, dh gate are full of toy guns, fake rolex, fake leupold, fake gold bars, fake toonies , fake bills.
All of it arrives, there's chat groups out there that order all this shit and track what arrives.
29
u/Brapika Feb 27 '26
Had the horse police show up at your door yet? Why would you attempt something so brazen?
23
u/izza123 Feb 27 '26
It reminds me of those “oil filters” they used to sell on wish that were just suppressors lol so many people got in trouble
13
u/4r4nd0mninj4 Feb 27 '26
I always figured those were just bait to give the feds a reason to pull your license and take all your stuff. 😬

3
Feb 28 '26
What's so brazen about it. ?
4
u/MenBearsPigs Feb 28 '26
Buying a handgun online internationally off of AliExpress -- which will go through customs.
Even if you had your restricted, you can't just order handguns willy nilly from sites that aren't verifying anything.

Is that even a real firearms?? Looks like a toy
2
u/vcarriere Mar 01 '26
It is a toy. Nobody seems to realize even canadian gun enthusiasts it seems. Kinda crazy. Unless i'm not up to snuff and it's being sold as a plastic pellet gun but you can fit a 22lr and it really shoots?
1
u/masterscoonar Apr 21 '26
They really do shoot .22s with a tiny easy modification intended to be done. I ordered 4 of them about 3 years ago they actually work like the real version
11
u/Jens_Fischer Feb 27 '26
Those...... that's a frickin spring loaded toy.
The "casing" contains a spring in it, and the "primer" is just a spring release button. You even need a special little tool to push the spring-loaded plate in place. The red tip is from a black foam with a red plastic tip on it. Made of zinc alloy and held together by screws.
You can see the "GG" in circles on the side, not clear enough, but it's there, and especially the lack of serial number proves this isn't from Trailblazer.
Source? My 9-year-old nephew had one, and my brother bought it from Taobao. It's like, what, 6RMB, so 1.2CAD. The "new and improved" ones are more expensive, about 8CAD.
Maybe it's considered a replica firearm? Because of its resemblance? And thus prohibited? But it's a toy gun for sure......
P.S. Hell, I can even post a picture of that product on Taobao if you guys want me to. It looks just like this one, even the details.
2
u/izza123 Feb 28 '26 edited Feb 28 '26
It’s considered a replica because it closely matches the original and is easily converted to actually fire live rounds (though very unsafe)
The chambers are made to fit actual .22wmr, I can’t detail the process because it’s super illegal and dangerous but they can be altered to actually strike the rim and set off the round in about 2 minutes, from there is equally dangerous to anybody standing behind it or in front of it lol

u/izza123 Feb 27 '26
They’re sold as dart guns from China on Alibaba. I’d bet a million of those little guys are on the streets.
They may or may not explode in your hand disfiguring you horribly.

No I understand what the original is, this likley isn’t an original and is one of the copies made of pot metal from China

u/GonZo_626 Feb 27 '26
Yes their is real life card pistols. This looks like a knockoff, the cartridge even appears to have a plastic "bullet" in it.
14
u/Focus_Visible Feb 27 '26 edited Feb 27 '26
Yep this is a toy I have a fidget one that looks like a zippo, and shoots little darts inside brass cases that contain a spring. Red tip darts, you can even see the little release plunger on the end of the shell.
10
u/CanadianGunNoob Feb 27 '26
Holy smokes, so they confiscated a toy. Although, they will no doubt call it a replica, which is technically correct, but I can't see how anybody other than a gun nut would perceive that to be a firearm.
Guy on the ebike must have been a special kind of idiot to manage to get himself searched in a traffic stop. I bet he told the cop that the thing was a gun, otherwise most cops wouldn't have had a clue what that thing was.
5
u/Focus_Visible Feb 27 '26
They do this all the time, pictures of bb gun uzi's. Crossman bb gun ar's. Bb and pellet pistols that look like the real deal. Sometimes they will say its a replica but I have seen several police bust posts that list them as firearms. It's to stir up the liberal voting base, look at the scary guns (toys). See how well we are doing our jobs. Funny thing is my whole late teenage and adult life I've known people that can get ahold of an illegal firearm if your willing to pay. Almost everybody knows somebody that knows someone that can. But its so hard for cops and border agents to stop them. Almost like some people in charge of our safety are on the take. Hell working in Ottawa (stone mason) I've pointed out crack houses to the police. You see the druggies in an out all day long, week after week. Yep we know, can't do anything. Excuse me???
1
u/CanadianGunNoob Feb 27 '26
bb guns and airsoft get around the replica ban because they classify as firearms. They are firearms you can possess without a PAL. To be classified as a replica, they must be unable to fire a projectile that can cause serious bodily harm. bodily harm is defined as damaging an eyeball. So if you can't put an eye out with it, it's illegal, but if you can, it is legal. Try to figure that one out!!!
1
u/Focus_Visible Feb 27 '26
Funny thing with that law too, the second a replica airsoft or bb/pellet gun breaks it is now an illegal replica. Making the owner a criminal. Technically they are not classed as firearms though because they dont meet feet per second threshold (over 500 fps). They do however become a firearms if used in a crime.
0
u/CanadianGunNoob Feb 28 '26
LOL, Canadian gun laws. I'm sure cops just love finding this weird stuff and having to try and figure out what it is and if it's illegal or not.
1
u/Focus_Visible Feb 28 '26
Yep another good one with pellet and air soft is, if you get pulled over and have them in your vehicle just laying there, its up to the officer if they want to charge you with improper transport. Because they're not guns, but they look like guns, but also they are not guns lol

There are lots of places you can stick a 22wmr, (giggidy) that doesn't make those places a gun. This thing comes with toy plastic bullets. If a 22wmr fits, and it can set it off, you'll be lucky to still have all your fingers.
1
u/outdoorsaddix Feb 27 '26
But does the firing pin actually work for that 22 wmr? I’m pretty sure that the “pin” strikes the centre of the toy spring loaded cartridge to activate it and 22 WMR is rim fire….
If it could set it off, I’m really doubting it could do so reliably.
23
u/PlaneGoFlyFly Feb 27 '26
That's a piece of shit kids toy pretending to be a LifeCard brand pistol.
6
u/2feetandathrowaway Feb 28 '26
Is this "assault style"?
3
u/-rifle-is-fine- Feb 28 '26
Do your eyes not work? Clearly that is a special forces gun meant to silently eliminate world leaders undetected and start wars. It doesn't get more scarily assaulty than that.
That, and it is black. The wood grain models are not scarassaulty. I thought this was a gun crazy people sub, why am I explaining that?

I see these advertised on facebook. I report them but they never get taken down.
6
u/Focus_Visible Feb 27 '26 edited Feb 28 '26
This is a toy, that shoots plastic darts out of a shell that houses a little spring mechanism. I have a zippo one that shoots the exact same shells and red darts. You can even see the little release plunger on the end of the shell. The police are blatantly lying here. They are in this form banned in Canada because they are a 1 to 1 replica of a modern firearm. You can see them for sale on aliexpress and the like, marketed under the life card name but toys none the less.
10
u/Agreeable-Map9132 Feb 27 '26
These just popped up on my feed.... Isn't that just a toy on AliExpress?
5
1
u/EnvironmentalBox6688 Feb 27 '26
That explicitly makes it a prohibited device, no?
2
u/Canaderp37 Feb 27 '26
Both are prohib. One is prohibited because of a short barrel. The other is prohibited because it's a replica.
-1
u/Canaderp37 Feb 27 '26
No there's legit ones, and then there are toy knock offs you can get online for $10.
This is a legit one. You can tell by the markings on the side.
3
u/AdditionalLoss7274 Feb 27 '26
That cartridge doesn't look like any .22WMR I've ever seen...
-1
u/Canaderp37 Feb 27 '26
Its not a legit wmr round that I know.
But you can tell based on the logo on the side. The toy ones have a big GG on it. It's also slightly smaller and does need aftermarket changes to fire a real round
2
12
u/goshathegreat Feb 27 '26 edited Feb 27 '26
That is a fake toy pistol lol. Source.
3
u/Acceptable_Visit_115 Feb 27 '26
Yup, the real Life Card maker even had a PSA on their website (your link) to say they are replicas and you can't safely fire real rounds despite they fit.
3
u/China_bot42069 Feb 27 '26
I’ve never seen that before. Are they any good or just more garbage from Temu
6
u/RallyPotato Feb 27 '26
They are really not very good as far as firearms go. Not like they are poor quality, more of the fact it is a folding single shot 22 with questionable ergonomics.
Really more of a meme or novelty gun.
2
u/China_bot42069 Feb 27 '26
naaa, i can tell its a garbage gun from the images, i just meant more in terms if it will blow up in your hand.
2
u/RallyPotato Feb 28 '26
The real lifecards are intended to be used and can be safely shot, like any other gun.
This one is a knockoff dart gun from aliexpress and would most likely not be a good time to shoot, if you could even chamber and shoot a round.

Not a real 22 win mag. Doesn't fire real ammo. Doesn't resemble any gun ever made. Ammo in the picture is the toy ammo that comes with this toy gun.

So I really wonder how did this go from someone who ran a red light on a ebike to searching them to find a pistol?
If they had a full sized pistol ya might be able to see it on them but no way the cops seen he had this unless he took it out to show them lol

Not LR ?
5
u/VanillaHighlights Feb 27 '26
If you zoom in on the top left photo it says "Lifecard .22WMR" at the top
5
u/haberdasher42 Feb 27 '26
Def not LR.
2
u/adamf514 Feb 27 '26
You have the choice to choose the caliber when you order. It's ether .22LR or .22WMR, but the one in the picture is wmr
0
u/catchinNkeepinf1sh Feb 27 '26
Why does the case look so much thicker then normal? The bullet looks comically small.
8
u/adamf514 Feb 27 '26
Because it's a toy from AliExpress, even the bullet, look at the tip red plastic. Go to AliExpress and search card gun. It's a toy,
1
5
u/goshathegreat Feb 27 '26 edited Feb 27 '26
That is fake lol, it is obviously a toy…
Edit: for those downvoting me, this is a fake toy that cannot chamber 22wmr, Trailblazer even said this…
If you look closely at the picture you can see it is not a real bullet, it has a red plastic tip.

This is a shitty BB gun off of Temu you can see the bb in the top of the casing, pretty sure 22wmr isn’t a spherical projectile

u/Substantial_Link_494 Apr 07 '26
I do carry a LifeCard sometimes when out cycling in .22 WMR. Due to the caliber and single shot, I would think it's not a very good gun for any type of criminal activity. It's basically the bare minimum a gun can be and is barely suitable for self defense, although I am sure it will take down a vicious dog with a well-placed shot.
-2
u/IPSC_Canuck Feb 27 '26
Moral of the story: never trust anyone who rides an Ebike! Lol
3
u/Makarov_jz Feb 28 '26
I'm in Kingston, where a significant number of people ride their own modified electric motorcycles. In this small city, traffic rules are more like guidelines than laws for some people, and accidents are frequent. But this is the first time I've seen someone get fined for riding an electric motorcycle.
-1
u/IPSC_Canuck Feb 28 '26
Definitely on a much smaller scale in the town I live in, but it’s total chaos here too. I haven’t seen an accident yet, but I’ve seen allot of close calls. We have a severe problem with public intoxication here (We’re number 2 in Ontario for police involved incidents per capita) so the police are constantly wrapped up in that that situation. In all honesty, i know a few people who ride them 8 or 9 months of the year, and they’re great folks.
-25
u/Danlabss Feb 27 '26
They’re common in the US, but since it’s illegal to carry for self defence here they’re not allowed (along with probably a dozen other specific restrictions on handguns)
14
u/MG34owner Feb 27 '26
These are deadass not “common” in USA, it’s a novelty gun that’s works better then zip gun, but is still ass. I would rather buy the folding glock
18
u/Spydude84 Feb 27 '26
They aren't legal because the barrel length is too short. That's it.
15
u/DrZoidburger89 Feb 27 '26
He's not entirely wrong though, it is illegal to carry anything for the purpose of self defense in Canada.
1
u/Spydude84 Feb 28 '26
Correct, but just because you can't carry a handgun for self-defense is not legally why they are banned.
(Though, that is likely the root of it, even if not the legal root. They could easily legalize all handguns, and they would still be illegal to carry)

-1

Am I? It’s too short to be legal here, along with not being able to carry for SD… maybe they’re not as common in America and I’ve just seen them in too many videos.

u/purleiris222 May 11 '26
This isnt a real gun, it is a dart gun. See the red tip of the tiny plastic dart sticking out of the "bullet"? It is junk off Temo 🙄

This just goes to show all the shit smuggled in from the USA. Yet they going after the firearms locked in safes in secured homes owned by licensed and vetted people. What a backwards thinking inept Government… smfh
