What is a good price to sell a TM22 aluminum with 18" barrel. Should I sell my red dot with it or seperate? Also any recommendations of what site to list on? And tips for someones first time selling a firearm?

I have a fairly new Ruger GSR .308 WIN that I have been practicing with and breaking-in, as a new shooter. I have been running drills at home, cycling the action about 200 times per week to help 'break-in' the action, since it was very sticky at first. It seems to be improving gradually (likely due both to improved form/familiarity and 'poIishing' the bolt). I cycle the bolt action 100 times without snap caps, and then continue 100 more times with snap caps. I do NOT ever press the trigger or dry-fire the rifle during these drills (though I have read that it's largely fine to do so, but it might wear the firing pin quicker).
I would like to continue the drills indefinitely to help keep me familiar with the firearm and engaging its action, far beyond when it's broken in.
So, my question is, will continuing these drills and cycling the bolt like this, with or without snap caps, hasten the wear of any components of the rifle? If I am not dry-firing or pressing the trigger, does the absence of snap caps cause any more harm than when they're used?
I did search a few forums for insights first, but most information seems to more directly address dry-firing (including pressing the trigger) and its effects on wearing the firing pin more than anything else.

I just got a TM22 with 12" barrel, came with a 10 rd mag that feeds perfectly.
I bought a couple of the Derya 15rd mags, but it doesnt insert well at all. On inspection, there is a difference in the rear notch of the mags. Is this an issue for anyone else? I'm wondering if I should return it, or should I try sanding it. Don't want to mess it up if there's a different version of the 15rd mag I'm supposed to get.
Thanks

Trying to figure out an unrestricted rifle to slap a Pinty smiley scope onto and build a cheapish fungun. Anyone have ideas?
I'm basically planning to paint it up like some kind of cracked-out cyberpunk themed gun. I was considering a Kriss Vector after I was shocked to find it on the unrestricted list some time ago, but I'm still fairly new to firearms and just want some good tactical meme guns that are fun to shoot.

Hi there. Looking to doing renovations on my bubba’d russian sks. Would it be worth to swap my ati stock for an archangle stock or get something like the hush holster to do a modern/cold war style build? Thanks in advance
Edit; before anyone tries to hate this is my second sks, i have an original one. I use my Russian to tinker on and learn on for firearms.

My kids are really into shooting their shotguns lately, primarily target loads. Is it worth keeping the hulls and reloading them? I know the initial set up can be costly, but my oldest went through three boxes by himself the other day! They have an interest in trap shooting. Will it save any money in the long run, or are they cheap enough now?

Hi guys,
Looking for a gunsmith that would be able to thread a barrel for a muzzle break for me in the Fraser Valley / lower mainland. Dlask arms is retired and rusty wood no longer take on new projects.

Hey canucks,
Pre-Ordered a SKS mag adapter +2 DURAMAGS from Hi Cal back in March, says on the website my order is still processing, but on the adapter page it states that the ETA is May 1st. Haven’t received anything, seems no one else has either.
Recently saw another comment on a related thread stating they phoned Hi Cal recently and they stated they didn’t even have any adapters in stock, despite the website saying otherwise.
Anyone have any insight on this? I feel like I’m getting scammed and I think I might initiate refund/chargeback in the next seven days, they provide no information on what is halting the process, and the more I read about them the more it seems I might just not receive the item. Won’t lie, lil bit pissed about this.
thanks
edit - 05/25/2026: thank you all for your input. I’m currently out of country so I’m gonna shoot an email over to Hi-Cal and ask for a cancellation and refund.
I don’t think I’m gonna bother with calling b/c the general consensus seems to be that this company is dodgy and is just gonna provide me some sorry ass excuse that’s been stated ad nauseam.
I’m really just sending the email so I have proof to my card issuer I attempted to go thru the merchant before the bank.
This sucks, b/c before doing research into this company I’ve seen (mostly) good reviews and experiences. I suppose the new ownership perhaps may have something to do with it.
Again, thanks [r/canadaguns](r/canadaguns). I love you all.
note: before this, I had to change my shipping address for said order b/c I am in the process of moving, it took 2 unanswered emails and 2 phone calls just to change the shipping address. First call guy they said they would get to it, and to just send an email when I already did, and waited a week for their non-response. Also asked for confirmation in two separate emails if I would be receiving the additional 2x DURAMAGS as I pre-ordered during the change in design and price. The question was dodged twice. Perhaps I should’ve seen this coming, sigh.

So I’m dumb, I never knew about this, I guess the best thing to do is to cross reference this with the crownland atlas and figure out which sites are no longer in use and situated on crownland 😃

Hey everyone,
I’m looking into getting into ORA Service Rifle and I’m curious about what the competitive side looks like.
For those who have competed in ORA Service Rifle matches, what do winners actually receive for placing (especially provincial-level events)?
Do they give out:
medals?
certificates?
anything else?
I’m not expecting cash prizes or anything, I’m just curious what the recognition/reward system is like compared to other shooting competitions.
Also, if anyone has competed in Service Rifle before, I’d appreciate any advice
also if there’s any other clubs or something i should look into to get into competitive shooting let me know

Has anyone had any issues flying w basic firearm parts in their checked bags? I'm mostly worried I'll end up spending half an hour filling out forms and paying more than the magazine is worth to get it on the plane.

I ordered a tikka ctr, rings and a magazine on the 24th, now it's June1 and I still haven't gotten any email regarding if my order has been processed/shipped or not. Are they usually this slow with shipping?

Hello everyone, was wondering if any of you know what choke tubes it takes, or what they look like, been thinking it would make a handy little slug launcher with a Carlson rifled tube on it, if anyone has any info that would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Has anyone ever bought one of their bumper stickers for the raffle? Anyone won anything or tried another raffle site?

Hi all. Since pretty much all shotguns with an AR look and magazine have been banned like the canucks, and deyras. Since guns like the carmel and mk15 are coming out, are there any able to be passed by RCMP

I am getting a 223 Tikka Superlite with a fluted stainless barrel. I am mostly going to do target shooting rather than hunting but I want something reasonably light that also can be carried if needed (bit of a closet prepper - and no, I don’t want to debate it).
Three questions:
- as a range gun (most of the time), what kind of shoot/cool-down process should I anticipate given the calibre (if that matters)? Will I be limited to 5 shots and then wait for a while (and how long)?
- if a scope budget was really modest (say $400) is there a scope that would let you reach out to 500 or 600 yards with high magnification potential? I don’t mind sacrificing a bit of image clarity if a cheap scope will hold zero (again, with 223-level recoil) and still let me shoot accurately at this distances.
- for the cheap ammo (e.g. PMC bronze) can you still achieve decent results and consistency within 300 to 400 yards?

Hey all,
Im military and am moving a couple hours away due to a posting from one base to another (same province). I have restricted and prohibited firearms. The issue is that my closing date for my current house is a few days before my possession date of my new house. I have to stay in a hotel for the 3 days in-between. Has anyone ever experienced this? I cant be the first... Do I get an ATT to my hotel one day and an ATT to my new residence once I have possession?
Thank you

I phoned Calgary retailer , and confirmed with them they can bring in WOOX AR accessories, in addition to the WOOX precision products they have listed on theirsite. WOOX has fixed and folding wood and aluminum with wood cheek riser and butt plate insert 1913 stocks, woody buffer tube stocks, wood MLok rail covers , pistol grips, and foregrips if anyone wants wood accessories for their Renegade, Hush Holsters SKS or Brigade Makasi, FYI.

A couple of weeks ago I boxed up and sent my Uberti Silver Boy 22LR to the warranty depot in Ontario. Between failure to fire and failure to properly eject, this gun's malfunction rate was around fifty percent, with four types of ammo.
I got an email today saying that the gun is fixed and the problems were solved by shortening the firing pin spring. Communication from Stoeger Canada and their warranty service procedure has been excellent. If this solves the problems I'll count myself lucky and try to forget about the $100 that I paid for shipping and insurance. I'll post another update once I have it back and am able to run a couple of hundred rounds through it.

I received my (R)PAL a few months ago and am looking for a range in the area. I'm aware of the Guelph Rod & Gun Club as well as the Galt Sportsmen's Club but am looking for a range with as short of a waitlist as possible. Only looking to do rifle shooting as of now. Let me know of any recommendations (or places to steer clear of) and any reasons why. Thanks
